A distiller's parrot is a piece of equipment that allows you to take alcohol gravity measurements using an Alcometer continuously throughout your pot or reflux run. It should be placed inline of your distillation outlet so that the drops of distillate fall directly into the tallest collection cone. But it should only placed in-line after you collect your foreshots. Your alcometer is then gently placed into the lower cone. Be careful not to drop in the alcometer before there is any liquid/distillate in the cone, as dropping it into an empty cone could break your glass alcohol meter. This kit is for connecting your garden hose to the Copper Pot Still and Copper Reflux Still condensers (DS120 / DS130). The vinyl tubing is connected to the yellow female quick disconnect and then attached to the cooling water inlet and outlet on the condenser. To attach the tubing, unscrew the QD's locking ring, attach the tubing to the barb, and thread back on the locking ring. The ring will compress the tubing around the barb and provide a tight seal. The Copper Reflux Still Condenser is designed to create high percentage pure neutral spirit.  It features a flow management device, which makes it extremely easy to use. No need to worry about fine tuning the water flow speed. As long as your providing enough coolant or cold water running through the condenser, the flow rate doesn't matter. The purity of the spirit can be controlled by two included flow control inserts. These brass inserts come with a 1.0mm hole and 0.6mm hole. As the hole gets smaller, the rate at which the spirit exits the condenser will decrease, thus increasing your reflux ratio and the purity of your spirit.
