If you prefer a hoppy beer, you’re likely concerned with keeping the hops in your boil kettle and out of your fermenter during your home brewing. The Blichmann Hop Blocker is a handy brewing accessory that promises to keep those hops out of the fermenter and securely in the boil kettle, all without disrupting the rest of the brewing process.   Through rigorous and repetitive testing, Blichmann Engineering has determined that the 90 percent to 95 percent of the hop material is left behind when using the Blichmann Hop Blocker to transfer your brew to the fermenter. While many traditional screen filters draw from the bottom of the kettle and often plug the screen, the Hop Blocker drains the majority of the wort from the top down, enabling the hops and trub to settle undisturbed at the bottom of the kettle. The filter works on just a small portion of the wort instead of the entire thing, making it much less disruptive.   The Blichmann Hop Blocker is designed for use with pellet hops only, not with whole, loose hops, as those could clog the Hop Blocker.

This amazing product is an ideal companion with Blichmann’s revolutionary BoilCoil™ immersion heaters, but it’ll also work with all manufacturer’s immersion heaters!  Blichmann’s unique modular power controller lets you precisely control the power of your electric heating element from 0-100% power.  Need to control more than one heating element for large kettles?  Simply add up to 4 additional relay modules and drive them all with one power controller.  Unlike cheap "dimmer switch" based power controllers, whose power output is not linear, the modular power controller is much easier to control the perfect boil intensity and heating rate.  This is accomplished using a tried and true industrial technique called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).  Simply put, it controls the percentage of time the heater is energized over a very short 1 sec interval.  So turning the knob to “6” energizes the heater for 0.6 seconds, and turns it off for the remainder of the 1 sec interval.  This robust reliable technique is gentle on your heater, is extremely linear, and doesn’t create electrical noise like other techniques can.  See below for other great features. This amazing product is an ideal companion with Blichmann’s revolutionary BoilCoil™ immersion heaters, but it’ll also work with all manufacturer’s immersion heaters!  Blichmann’s unique modular power controller lets you precisely control the power of your electric heating element from 0-100% power.  Need to control more than one heating element for large kettles?  Simply add up to 4 additional relay modules and drive them all with one power controller.  Unlike cheap "dimmer switch" based power controllers, whose power output is not linear, the modular power controller is much easier to control the perfect boil intensity and heating rate.  This is accomplished using a tried and true industrial technique called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).  Simply put, it controls the percentage of time the heater is energized over a very short 1 sec interval.  So turning the knob to “6” energizes the heater for 0.6 seconds, and turns it off for the remainder of the 1 sec interval.  This robust reliable technique is gentle on your heater, is extremely linear, and doesn’t create electrical noise like other techniques can.  See below for other great features. This is an extension that fits onto the Blichmann 55 Gallon BoilerMaker kettles. It has the G2 finish, matching their newest line of kettles. Using this extension, the 55 gallon BoilerMaker nearly doubles its volume to top out at slightly over 100 gallons! Comes with a gasket for a watertight seal between the BoilerMaker Kettle and its Extension. The extension comes with a sight gauge marked up to 100 gallons, and the original lid for your BoilerMaker will fit right on top. This is designed for 2 BBL batches, and is a great option for someone who wants to expand capacity without starting over with a new Brew Stand and set of kettles! We've found that using a StarSan solution around the gasket / 55 gallon kettle top helps to get the extension into the kettle.  NOTE - Does not come with 55 Gallon Kettle in picture.
