    2-Row Malt - Briess Malting

    46 reviews

1.8° L - Briess Brewers 2-Row is a fantastic base malt that can be used for all beer styles. Briess 2-row contributes a clean, sweet, and slightly malty character along with a light straw color. Briess Brewers Malt is malted in Wisconsin in small batches and is an excellent fit for all ales. Use this the same as you would any 2 row base malt and expect amazing results in your glass. Briess is an American malting company that is vertically integrated with seed facilities, barley collection facilities, and direct relationships with farmers in the state of Wyoming. In this region malt is flood irrigated so that it does not have to rely on rainfall. This has the benefits of quality and consistency for you the brewer. Malt that is flood irrigated is lighter in color since the barley heads see very little rain. The flood irrigation is also consistent and reliable so Briess sees less variability in their malt from year to year.  MoreBeer! visited the Briess malting facilities in Wisconsin and this is a true American company that is still privately held by the Briess family. The late Roger Briess was a huge supporter of homebrewing and attended and sponsored homebrewing events. Yes we like the malt and also the company!      If this malt is currently out of stock or you'd like to try out a different maltster, please see the substitution chart below. • Corn Sugar (Dextrose) - PLACEHOLDER Corn Sugar (Dextrose) - PLACEHOLDER

Corn Sugar (Premium Dextrose) | Non-GMO & Domestic

    104 reviews

Premium Domestic Source: Sourced entirely from 100% US corn. Non-GMO: Meets modern consumer demands for clean-label ingredients. 100% Fermentable: Guarantees a reliable, complete fermentation with no residual sweetness. Neutral Flavor Profile: Will not add any unwanted color, flavor, or aroma to your beverage, protecting your recipe's integrity. High Purity & Solubility: Dissolves quickly and clearly in water. Fuel your fermentation with the cleanest, most reliable sugar on the market. Our Non-GMO, Domestic Dextrose Monohydrate (Corn Sugar) is the industry standard for beverage producers seeking purity, consistency, and high performance. As a simple sugar (glucose), our dextrose is 100% fermentable by yeast. This ensures a rapid and complete fermentation, leaving behind a clean, neutral flavor profile that lets your final product—whether beer, hard seltzer, or wine—shine. We offer competitive pricing on bulk sacks for full-scale production and also provide smaller, conveniently packaged sizes for pilot batches, lab work, or homebrewing. Applications for Your Beverage For Beer Brewers 1. Priming & Bottle Conditioning Dextrose is the classic choice for "priming," or creating natural carbonation in the bottle or keg. We recommend it because it's easy for the yeast to consume and has a perfectly neutral flavor, leaving your beer tasting exactly as you designed it. Standard Use: Use 4-5 oz. of dextrose to prime 5 gallons of beer. Sanitary Prep: Dissolve the sugar in 1-1.5 pints of water and boil for 5 minutes to sanitize before gently mixing it with your beer. 2. Gravity & ABV Boosting Need to hit your Original Gravity (OG) target without affecting flavor? Dextrose is the solution. Clean Addition: Adds fermentable sugars without increasing body, color, or adding the "cidery" taste associated with other sugars. Yield: Adds 1.042 points per pound per gallon (PPG) to your specific gravity.   For Hard Seltzer, Wine & Other Beverages Hard Seltzer: Dextrose is the ideal fermentable base for hard seltzer. Its clean profile and high fermentability create a neutral alcohol base that is perfect for flavoring. Yeast Propagation: Use it as a pure carbohydrate source for growing and propagating yeast slurries. Wine: Can be used to increase the potential alcohol (chaptalization) in wines without adding non-grape flavors. Technical Data and Usage Guides Gravity Calculation PPG: 1.042 (Adds 1.042 to specific gravity when 1 lb. is dissolved in 1 gallon of water) Formula to Hit Target Gravity: Dextrose Needed (lbs.) = (Batch Volume [gal] $\times$ (Target Gravity - Actual Gravity)) / 0.042 Example: To raise 5 gallons from 1.040 to 1.050: (5 x (1.050 - 1.040)) / 0.042 = 1.19 lbs. of dextrose   Carbonation Guide This guide helps you calculate the CO2 volumes added by priming. Total carbonation is the sum of the CO2 retained after fermentation plus the CO2 added by priming. Priming Amount (per 5 gal) CO2 Volumes Added 4 oz 1.48 Volumes 5 oz 1.84 Volumes Residual CO2: Beer fermented at 68°F (20°C) retains ~1.0 volume of CO2. Beer fermented at 50°F (10°C) retains ~1.2 volumes. To convert volumes to g/L: Multiply volumes x 1.96. Suggested CO2 Levels (Volumes)   Cask Ales 1.5 - 2.0 American & English Ales 2.3 - 2.6 Lagers 2.4 - 2.6 Highly Carbonated (e.g., Weissbier) 3.0+ A Note on Packaging: The photo is a sample representation. • Malt - Carapils - Per Lb (Showroom Only) Malt - Carapils - Per Lb (Showroom Only)

    Carapils Malt - Briess Malting

    24 reviews

1.7 °L - Briess Malting - Carapils adds body, mouthfeel and improves head retention by adding dextrines, proteins, non-starch polysaccharides, and other body-building compounds into your wort. Carapils is usually used at a level of 5% or less of your total all-grain malt bill. However it can be used at a higher rate in special cases, say if you are making a Session IPA, and are trying to simulate a higher gravity beer. Because of its extremely light color and neutral flavor it won't have much affect on the final color or flavor of your beer. Carapils belongs to a category of malts labeled as Dextrine, sometimes Dextrin, malts. We mention this because you might see either of these names in your recipe. You can steep Carapils in an extract batch but will only get about 20% utilization, or 20% of the goodies of this malt dissolved into your beer. While not as complex as Carapils malt, for extract brewing some brewers prefer to use dextrin powder.

    Hallertau Mittelfruh | Pellet Hops

    46 reviews

This classic German hop has an herbal/floral character and smooth bitterness, making it an ideal choice for brewing lagers, especially traditional pilsners. Hallertau Mittelfruh is one of the original four Noble hops, and is categorized as a "landrace" hop, meaning that it grew and adapted naturally over time in its native region. Its name is derived from the region of Hallertau, the world's largest hop growing region, and the German word mittelfrueh meaning "middle-early", referring to the early middle part of the growing season when it's ready to be harvested. The majority of its oil content comes from Humulene which provides the floral, herbal, and spicy character. Clean, crisp, and perfect for your next pilsner or hoppy lager. CellarScience® CALI Dry Yeast | American Ale | Premium Beer Yeast

    83 reviews

CALI is the classic American ale strain famous for its clean, neutral flavor and its ability to be used in nearly any style A quintessential house strain that will allow malt and hops to shine Designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no pre-oxygenation before pitching required Ferment between 59-72°F CellarScience offers high-quality yeast that is easy to use, consistent, and available at a tremendous value The classic American ale strain that has a long history of producing amazing beers. Famous for its clean, neutral flavor and its ability to be used in nearly any style. The reason this is the most popular strain in homebrewing and craft brewing is that it allows malt and hops to shine. You can never go wrong with CALI.  Like all CellarScience yeast, CALI is eligible for direct pitch straight into your wort. CellarScience provides 12g of yeast per sachet, which is up to 9% more than any other brand of dry yeast. Every batch of yeast is PCR tested to ensure quality. CALI has been selling to pro breweries for awhile but was just recently packaged down to sachets for homebrewers.  Dosage: One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly. Direct Pitch or Rehydrate: CALI yeast is designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no oxygenation required in the initial fermentation. Our aerobic growth process makes this possible by creating dry yeast with high viability and high sterol levels. CALI yeast is pre-loaded with essential nutrients to ensure a successful, complete fermentation. While not required, some brewers prefer to rehydrate yeast. To hydrate yeast, first, sanitize the yeast brick and scissors. Use 10 grams of sterilized tap water between 85-95°F (29-35°C) mixed with 0.25 grams of FermStart per gram of yeast. Sprinkle yeast on the water. Allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 20 minutes, then swirl. Use small amounts of wort to adjust to within 10°F (6°C) of wort temperature before pitching. Ferment between 59-72°F (15-22°C). Optimum Fermentation Temp: 59-72°F Flocculation: Medium Alcohol Tolerance: 10-11% ABV (WY1056 11%) Attenuation: 75-84% Similar Strains: WLP001, WY1056, US-05 Gluten-free   CellarScience Yeast: For years liquid yeast has been sold as the higher quality option but times are changing. Yes, 20 years ago dry yeast was made by bread yeast producers and the quality was not as good as liquid yeast. CellarScience is helping to flip that script with a full lineup of high-quality dry yeasts. Cell count and viability is usually higher than commercial liquid yeast pitches, which vary from pouch to pouch and don't ship well. CellarScience yeast can be pitched directly in most batches of wort, offering significant time savings. Yeast that is quick and easy to use, high quality, and available at a reasonable cost adds up to a tremendous value. Quality yeast that doesn't "break the brink". CellarScience Nutrients: For high gravity ferments consider rehydrating yeast with CellarScience FermStart yeast hydration nutrient. For high gravity or low nutrient wort, feed your fermentation with CellarScience FermFed DAP Free complex yeast nutrient mix.

    Pilsner Malt - Viking Malt

    28 reviews

1.7-2.0 °L - Viking Malt -  Pils is a traditional European Pilsner malt with a delicate malt sweetness that gives your lagers that extra something special. Viking Pils is the perfect base for all lagers and essential for Pilsners, Helles, Marzen, Bock, Vienna Lager, etc.    When your making light lagers most brewers want the pils base malt to provide a bit of maltiness. It can be the difference between boring beer and amazing beer. We have gotten great feedback from pro brewers and many have switched to Viking after trying it.     We also have several craft breweries using this malt for the commercial production of light colored Pales, IPA's, and Hazys. When compared to our Viking Xtra Pale the flavor of the Pils malt is just a bit lighter. Some brewers love this for their really light colored ales that are bursting with hop flavors.       Viking Malt is one of the largest malting companies in the world and the largest roaster of specialty malts. They are the main malt supplier to the famous Carlsberg brewery. Viking is not well known in the USA because they haven't had good US distribution. Because MoreBeer! and MoreBeer! Right out of the gate, Mosaic® hops catapulted into the upper echelon of high-demand aroma hops. Now it's one of those hop varieties that even casual craft beer drinkers are familiar with. A go-to addition for modern West Coast IPAs and an almost ubiquitous choice for Hazy IPAs. Not only does Mosaic® crush it as a standalone in single-hop beers, but it's an addition that just seems to complement and enhance any hop you pair it with. Even with a high alpha content, the intense aroma of fresh pine, mango, blueberry and citrus are the main event when you brew with Mosaic® hops. A reliable workhorse for NEIPAs, Pale Ales, IPAs, and Hoppy Lagers, but this stunning varietal will be a welcome addition in just about any style you brew.
