The barb is slightly oversized at 10 mm (0.39") compared to 3/8" (0.37") which will give you a tighter connection with your tubing. BSP vs. BSPP BSP (or BSPT) fittings have a tapered thread and require teflon tape to form a seal between the male and female fitting. BSP fittings are generally intended to be used with their counterpart of the same thread type. ONLY 1/2" and 3/4" BSP fittings are compatible with US-standard NPT fittings of the same size. A great way to set up a homemade Mash Tun. These fittings are designed to thread into the inside of a bulkhead fitting, and clamp down on a copper or stainless tube to allow for a hard-plumbed false bottom!
