FAQ:
Can filled containers be carried by the handles?
Depending on the weight—barrels up to 30L are no problem—60L is the limit and should not be carried when completely full. The handles have a weight capacity of 30kg (66 lbs).
Is there an upper limit on the alcohol content of the stored liquid?
In principle, there is not. However, it should be noted that the higher the alcohol content, the faster the seals and, to a lesser extent, the tank itself will wear out.
Up to what temperature can the containers be used?
For short periods of time the containers can withstand temperatures of up to 80°C (176°F). This temperature should not be exceeded. For longer periods of time the containers can be used at temperatures up to 60°C (140°F).

Having trouble loosening the lid of your 10" filter housing (FIL32A)? This spanner wrench will make it much easier. Our BevBright® filters require a tight seal of the lid onto the filter and this wrench is specifically designed to fit our 10" filter housing.
A high quality 10" filter housing is the central part of the filtering system you are building up from scratch. Whether you're looking to filter your water ahead of brewing or your finished beer prior to bottling/kegging, this housing will be there to hold your filter media year after year.
The same 10" housing found in our FIL32 kit. It has 1/2" FPT ports on both the "in" and "out" of the housing, allowing you to connect hose barbs, valves, or quick disconnects for a fully customized system. Can even be mounted on the wall with our Filter Canister Bracket!
For -pre-brewing water filtration, we recommend a Carbon Block filter.
For Filter Cartridges to filter beer, see our line of BevBright® Filters.
Please Note: This housing is for 10" filter cartridges. Many cartridge filters are 9.785" long, and will allow some bypass if used with this housing. We recommend BevBright® filter cartridges.
If you are having trouble removing the lid, try this spanner wrench!

High quality, absolute rated .45 micron absolute filter with a hard caged body and gasketed ends. Thermally bonded end caps and ultrasonic welded media seams for a one piece construction. Absolute rated at 99.99% efficiency to remove bacteria for sterile filtering. Ideal for filtering white wine that has not completed a full malolactic fermentation. Filters meet FDA Title 21 regulations for beverage contact. Will work with our 10 inch cannister filter.
What makes this filter really unique is the PES layer membrane with defined .45 micron hole size. This layer will not allow material to pass that is over .45 in size. This PES layer is also what makes this cartridge considerably more expensive than spun poly filters. Some cartridage filters are listed as being absolute but unless they have a PES layer they aren't.
Wine to be filtered should already be very clear as this filter will load up quickly with material. It is a common practice to prefilter already settled wine with a 1 micron spun poly filter and then filter with this .45 micron absolute filter.
Please note: these filters are not intended to be reusable.

How much can be processed with the grinder in what amount of time?
The Speidel Apple & Pear Mill can process roughly 2,200 lbs of fruit per hour.
Why did the grinder suddenly switch off during operation?
Too much fruit has been loaded in, the grinder may be overheating and needs to cool down. Feed fruit more slowly.
The funnel is not seated correctly. The switch-on safety device is no longer actuated. Check the fit of the funnel and the setting of the tension locks.
Overload on the power line. Check the fuse.
What maintenance work must be carried out?
The unit is almost maintenance-free. Only the blades should be sharpened from time to time.

This 40 Liter Hydropress provides a simple, highly effective method of extracting juice from apples, pears, berries or grapes for juice, wine or cider making. It can also be used as a cheese press or for honeycomb. Primarily targeted at the Apple Mead and Cider makers, as this press is hard to beat on a budget. Make the best possible sparkling cider with the Electric Apple Grinder and 40L Hydropress.
Bladder presses work by expanding a rubber bladder using household water pressure via a garden hose. Since the bladder is situated in the center of the press, the grapes/fruit are squeezed from the inside out in a uniform fashion even if the basket is only partially filled. This is a much more effective way of pressing fruit pulp as it allows a wider surface area for the juice to be extracted. Compared to traditional hydraulic top down presses, large amounts of streaming and blockages would be trapped within the bulk matter. The hydropress is also used on a mammoth scale in wineries as it is by far the most effective means of extraction without electrical power.
When pressing normal mains water pressure of 2.5 to 3 bar it will generate around 20 tonnes of pressing power. The pressure applied and the duration of pressing can be regulated simply by opening or closing the water tap.
High-Quality Material
This water-powered press is made of food-grade stainless steel, resistant to rust and corrosion, easy to wash, and wipe clean after use. With three stable steel legs. Best suited to be used outdoors where you can hose away any accidental spills of fruit and juice.
Electricity-Free:
Bladder presses use water to produce pressure for natural juice making, winemaking and cheese making. It’s energy-saving and space-saving. If the pressure gets too high, it will be released automatically, making this unit safe and easy to operate.
Important:
Keep the gray bladder out of direct sunlight for storage. A black garbage bag makes an excellent cover that will protect your gear for years to come.
