    Description

    • 1056 is a very versatile yeast for styles that desire dominant malt and hop character
    • Very clean, crisp flavor characteristics with low fruitness and mild ester production
    • Activator Smack-Pack System™ "proofs" the yeast and shortens lag time when it hits your wort
    • When smacked, the Activator™ packet releases sugars and nutrients to initiate the culture's metabolism
    • Wyeast has been a pioneer in craft brewing for over 35 years and is committed to creating the finest fermentation products available
    • Although beneficial, cultures do not need to be activated prior to inoculation

Very clean, crisp flavor characteristics with low fruitiness and mild ester production. A very versatile yeast for styles that desire dominant malt and hop character. This strain makes a wonderful “House” strain. Mild citrus notes develop with cooler 60-66°F (15-19ºC) fermentations. Normally requires filtration for bright beers.

Please note that 1056 American Ale has been known to bloat when shipping due to the yeast "off-gassing". Please put this yeast in your refrigerator when received, as the yeast will be fine and should still be viable. IPA Workhorse

Remains my go-to yeast for American IPAs and pale ales. Reliably takes off in a starter and then settles well for decanting. Ferments clean.

        Awesome

The yeast was great. Didn’t need a starter. I had it for a month before using it and it worked great. Only took a couple hours for it to start fermenting like crazy.

        Good stuff

It was good and performed well but I had to make a starter because it didn’t come with an ice pack. Last time I ordered an ice pack it came with two so I thought I didn’t need to order one. Turns out you do.

Great yeast for clean finish ales.

Great clean ale yeast. I made a 1L starter for this yeast and pitched into wort. Within 2 hrs active fermentation was achieved. Within 12 hrs it was fermentation madness! Very good yeast for all clean style ales!

        Fresh yeast delivered

The yeast from Morebeer was very fresh. Within an hour of pitching from the fermentation had already started. Did not make a starter.

A practical solution to brewing at home.

Mail order is a practical solution during these stay at home times. My order was filled exactly as I ordered it; one needs to allow about a week to receive the order after placing the order.

        Works great

This yeast is crazy fast and vigorous. Woke up next day to a huge foam ball and vigorous fermentation already going. First time I tried the slap pack. I'll use this next time in my Pliny the Elder.

        WOW

Used this to make a West Coast IPA. Vigorous fermentation within 12 hours, had to use a blow-off tube! Complete fermentation in 10 days at recommended temperatures, no off flavors. Am currently using again for a Rye IPA.

        My favorite yeast by far.

I use this in just about everything I brew except porters and stouts. By far one of the best yeast strains in my opinion.

Great for clean, crisp beer at low 60s fermentation

I use 1056 and 1272 for the majority of American beer styles. 1056 has high attenuation and produces a clean, crisp ale when fermented in the low 60s. I also recommend using 1272, especially if you enjoy a touch more bready backend on the beer. I typically grow starters a week before and cold crash/ decant the day of and let the yeast warm up as I brew. Then oxygenate for 60-90 seconds, never takes more than 6-12 hours to form krausen.

        Outstanding product

This yeast worked great for my 25 gallon batch of wheat beer. I also added some orange blossom honey to kick it up a notch. Can't wait to keg it and see how great it will taste.

        Great yeast

This yeast rips through fermentation every time I use it. Even though I have only used this yeast a few times, I have been impressed whenever I do. The packet was slightly swollen when I received it but that happens quite a bit with this yeast. It did not affect the yeast however since fermentation started quickly and finished quickly as well. Even the starter I made blew out the top of the flask.

        arrived partially inflated

It arrived partially inflated even though it was packed with 3 ice packs and other yeast that was not inflated. Almost to inflated to break the inner liner.Makes me wonder if it was already partially inflated before shipment, maybe poor care was taken before shipment...I really don't know

        Yeast

Paid the extra for it to be sent with a cooling pack, still arrived warm though. Yeast did perform well and had no issues with fermentation.

Good yeast, better that white labs 001

Ferments faster and attenuates as expected. White labs 001 has been shitty for the past year, attenuation low and fermentation low.

        did the job

this is the first type I used this strain of wyeast, to brew a double IPA, normally I use the vermont ipa giga yeast, but have had varying results so I thought I would give this one a try and it worked fast and complete. would use again.
