  • DigiMash - DigiBoil 35L and Mash Upgrade Kit - 110V DigiMash - DigiBoil 35L and Mash Upgrade Kit - 110V

    DigiMash Electric Brewing System | Gen 2 DigiBoil | 35L | 9.25G | 110V

    13 reviews

The Gen 2 DigiBoil features two distinct updates that are not currently pictured in the primary images. The stainless steel lid has been upgraded to a glass lid, allowing you to observe and monitor boil activity. The rubber feet have been replaced with a plastic base that provides improved stability and slightly raises the unit for better ground clearance. Updated images coming soon. The most affordable all-in-one automated all-grain brewing system! Mash grains and boil wort in a single vessel DigiBoil electric kettle automatically maintains mash temperatures with the digital controller Dual heating elements combine for 1500W of power Also available with optional Recirculation Pump Kit! The DigiMash system represents the best value in electric all-grain brewing you'll find. With a 9-gallon DigiBoil electric kettle and the DigiMash stainless steel mashing accessory pack included, this is by far the most affordable way to get into electric all-grain brewing. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the BrewZilla, but it does have everything you need to mash and boil all in one unit. Setting up and using the DigiMash couldn't be easier. Simply place the false bottom inside the kettle and install the malt pipe, fill with water and heat to your desired strike temperature, then add your grain and set your desired mash temperature on the digital controller. Once your mash is complete, lift up the malt pipe, drain the wort and sparge, then remove the malt pipe and proceed to boil. If you're deciding between the DigiMash and the BrewZilla, there are a couple of key differences worth noting. One of our favorite features of the BrewZilla is the programmable mash steps and delayed start, which the DigiMash does not have. You can still step mash by simply raising the temperature manually on the controller, but the automatic steps are a convenient feature if you want to set it and forget it. The other major difference between the two systems is that the BrewZilla features a built-in pump for recirculating the mash. Recirculation is a great way to improve mash efficiency, but it is far from required for a successful brew day. Using an external pump with the DigiMash is also an option, and one can be integrated for mash recirculation quite easily. Simply connect the ball valve to the inlet of your pump, and then connect the outlet of the pump to our Sparge Arm Assembly. This model comes with the 35L DigiBoil, which has two built-in heating elements that run off a 110V plug. One element is 1000w and the other is 500w for a combined 1500 watts! The elements can be individually controlled, allowing you to use a single element to gently hold temperatures, or engage both elements to quickly go from mash temp to boiling. Temperatures are set and automatically maintained through the digital control panel. Simply set your desired temperature and flip on the heating element(s). Integrated stainless ball valve comes with a 13mm barb (approx. 1/2"). The barb can be removed to attach fittings with 1/2" FPT, such as our female threaded quick disconnect. DigiBoil Features: 304 stainless steel construction 9 gallon total capacity Digital temperature control 110V / 15A power and plug (5 ft. cord) Dual heating element control (1000w and 500w) Heating elements are concealed for easy cleaning 304 stainless steel 1/2" ball valve with 13mm barb (approx. 1/2") Stamped-in volume markers (gallons & liters) Stainless lid Temperature reads in °F or °C With elements turned off, hold both +/- buttons to switch between °F or °C Recommended max. grain bill - 18 lbs Recommended min. grain bill - 8 lbs External Dimensions: 29" H x 15" W (including handles) Internal Dimensions: 19.5" H x 11.75" W ETL Listed DigiMash Stainless Steel Accessory Pack Includes: False bottom Malt pipe Wire support Malt pipe handle Malt pipe bottom screen

  • Erlenmeyer Flask - 500 ml

    Erlenmeyer Flask - 500 mL

    6 reviews

All of our flasks are made from borosilicate type glass which is nice because they can be transferred directly from heat to ice and not crack like normal glass. (We do not recommend the use of an electric element. If this cannot be avoided, we recommend using a larger pot as a hot water bath on the stove.) Great Flask for yeast culturing. Recommended Process for Use of Flask: Double Boiler Method It is important for your safety to heat water in the flask with a heat source that distributes heat evenly. Our manufacturer has confirmed that direct heat to the glass can break down its integrity and break if the heat source doesn't distribute evenly. Morebeer! recommends using the "double boiler method." This process involves using a boiling water bath on the outside of the flask to heat up the water inside the flask. All you need is a kettle 3 gallons or larger. This process is much safer and efficient. If the flask should break or boil over, your kettle will be there to collect the contents, thus keeping your stove clean and keeping you away from potential harm. In the lab world, these flasks are known as "Student Grade". A great flask for making yeast starters! (Student grade is not the highest grade flask and will have minor defects) Kegland Part Number: KL03964

    Blichmann Tri-Clamp RipTide™ Brewing Pump

The RipTide™ (Tri-Clamp model only) has been taken to the next level with a design modification to be the ultimate work horse. Now it eliminates the easy-to-loose thrust washer and showcases a PRV vent barb that will allow for mess free priming. This version will improve the overall brewing experience and operation. Again, this change is currently only on the TC RipTide™. Gone are the days of  making do with a general purpose pump such as the March 815 and all the variant imported copies.  These pumps are cumbersome to disassemble, difficult to prime to get the wort moving, require the addition of a valve, a switch, and a proper base to hold the pump upright.  They also use noisy open motors that must be shielded from liquids.  All undesireable attributes for a homebrewing pump!  The team of homebrewers at Blichmann Engineering and our friends at March Manufacturing have created the RipTide™ to solve all of these problems! High performance curved blade impeller and strong rare earth magnets deliver 7 GPM and up to 21ft of head pressure! Carbon Fiber Dry Run Protection increases the life of your impeller and resists damage during accidental dry runs Tri-clamp head connection fully disassembles in seconds for easy cleaning 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet connections Totally enclosed motor is splash proof and super quiet (50 dB) Integral linear flow valve for superior flow control - don't spend more money for a separate valve and fittings. Integral air vent valve and partially enclosed impeller design allows you to prime the pump in seconds - no more frustrating air locked pumps! Stainless steel head rotates 360 degrees to fit in virtually any installation Large stable base with protective rubber feet keeps the pump from tipping Convenient power switch on the base Includes a 10ft long cord with plug (120V) Base acts as a cord wrap for convenient storage Assembled in USA from USA and imported components

Beer Plate Filter Pads (0.5 Micron) - 2 Pack

    5 reviews

Clean up your beer and give it that sparkling clarity you see in commercial brews. Filtering removes yeast and dry-hop sediment, both of which can impart off flavors. It's also a great way to give your beer that extra edge in competition. This two-pack of filter pads are for use with our FIL45 series of plate filters. "Sterile" pads will provide between 0.3-0.5 Micron filtration. Please Note: These pads do not remove 100% of bacteria. • 30 Watt Fermentation Heating Belt 30 Watt Fermentation Heating Belt

    Heating Belt Fermentation Heater

    2 reviews

This 30W Heating Belt will gently warm your fermenter without creating major hot spots. Heating belts are often chosen over heating pads for the simplicity of adjusting the height of the belt on your fermenter to increase or decrease the heat transfer. And they're especially useful for smaller vessels where a heating pad would be simply too large. For the best results, pair the Heating Belt with a temperature controller so that heating is only provided when your fermentation drops below your set point. If you're using a fermentation chamber or other form of chilling, the temperature controller will be able to switch between heating and cooling as needed. Comes with a standard 2-prong US style 110V plug. Please disregard the example photo that shows an AU style plug. KegLand Part Number: KL01953

  • SmartRef Digital Refractometer by Anton Paar SmartRef Digital Refractometer by Anton Paar

SmartRef Digital Refractometer | Anton Paar

    3 reviews

MoreBeer!'s Favorite SmartRef Benefits: Only refractometer we know of that has alcohol correction built in. Gives an accurate reading during fermentation when an original reading is taken Only requires the smallest of samples Dual purpose: Can be used in the field to measure sugar content of grapes Costs less than the Anton Paar EasyDens. EasyDens gives accurate readings at any point during fermentation without the need for an original reading. Our Take: The SmartRef is a very smart digital refractometer. Unlike other refractometers on the market, it will automatically correct for alcohol during fermentation (currently only in beer) and give you an accurate reading. In order for the SmartRef to make the required adjustments for alcohol, it is required that you take an original reading before fermentation. This is a key difference from the Anton Paar EasyDens. With the EasyDens you can take a reading at any point during fermentation without the need of an original reading. Does that feature make the EasyDens worth the extra money? That is up to you of course, but sometimes in brewing we forget to take an initial reading on brew day. When used together the SmartRef and EasyDens allow for some very unique measurements like the ability to know the original gravity of a beer even without an original reading. To learn more about using these meters together, See related product. SmartRef Features: Wide measuring range from 0 to 85 °Brix (0 to 62.7 °P) Accuracy of 0.2 °Brix (0.2 °P) Built-in wort and alcohol correction for beer that is fully configurable Quick readings – results in under 2 seconds Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) Small sample volume requirement (0.4 mL) Free iOS/Android app Record and share readings from the ap Use in conjunction with the EasyDens to determine ABV, ABW, OG, FG, & Real Extract in finished beer The SmartRef Digital Refractometer by Anton Paar is a portable smart pocket device suitable for a wide range of requirements. The SmartGuide+, as a feature in the mobile app, automatically checks any errors of ambient light, impurity, and sample behavior during measurement for you. The device offers more than 15 different measurement units with automatic temperature compensation. Depending on your need, SmartRef enables you to measure the extract content of your beer, the sugar content in wine, the sweetness of fruits and vegetables, the moisture of honey, the salt content of your aquarium or pool, and much more. Smart Technology for Consistent Results The SmartRef portable refractometer is used in combination with a free mobile app for Android and iOS via Bluetooth Low Energy and enables intelligent handling of the measurement results. The app permits easy storage, visualization, management, and sharing of measurement data. SmartGuide+ detects and helps eliminate measurement problems through high ambient light detection, continuous checking of prism and sample condition, and more. In addition to the quick measurement mode, measurements in continuous mode allow a more detailed understanding of the samples’ properties. Over-the-air updates keep your digital refractometer up-to-date with the latest features. SmartRef Measurement Details The SmartRef refractometer measures the refractive index of fluids. This allows retrieval of relevant sample properties in a wide variety of applications. Fast temperature stabilization and automatic temperature compensation for measurement results make additional calculations and correction tables obsolete. The unit has an IP6 rating and an easy-to-clean stainless steel sample well. SmartRef supports a one-point zero adjustment with distilled water and requires only a few drops of sample (0.4 mL). SmartRef displays results in under two seconds and has a measurement range of 0 °Brix to 85 °Brix with an accuracy of 0.2 °Brix. High Variety of Measurement Applications Brix refractometer: For wine, juice, honey, sauces, jams, fruits, vegetables, and maple syrup. • Kegmenter - 58 L (4 in T.C. Lid w/ Ball Lock Posts, Floating Dip Tube) Kegmenter - 58 L (4 in T.C. Lid w/ Ball Lock Posts, Floating Dip Tube)

Kegmenter Fermentation Keg - 15.3 gal.

    7 reviews

Want an easy-to-use, stainless vessel that ferments and carbonates? This 58L/15.3 Gallon keg has been modified to allow you to do both! The top is fitted with a large 4 inch tri-clamp lid with two ball lock posts and a pressure relief valve. You can use this vessel to ferment, carbonate, serve, or push the beer through a filter. The posts are recessed which allows you to stack these kegs up to 4 high. A 4" T.C. end cap with pre drilled hole is also available (H691), which can be paired with a #3 stopper and airlock. Also consider the Kegmenter Hop Bong Pressure Pack which allows for oxygen-free dry hopping and also features ball lock posts for Gas & Liquid. Depending on how long it will take to consume the finished beer, we recommend using two kegmenters, one for fermentation and one for carbonating and serving. After fermentation, there will be a large trub cake at the bottom of the vessel. Leaving finished beer on the trub for too long (2-3 weeks) may eventually lead to off-flavors. Check out our ball lock jumper line (KEG575) to easily transfer from one kegmenter to the other. Also consider our beer filter kit (FIL40), which will allow you to filter the beer during transfer. Features: Rated up to 2.5 BAR (36 psi) 4" T.C. lid with ball lock posts Floating dip tube Stainless steel 1.8 mm thick Use: As a stainless steel fermenter that is easy to clean Great choice for 10 gallon fermentations Easy to pressurize the kegmenter after fermentation to push through a filter and into another keg Fermenting under pressure, allowing CO2 to exit via the relief valve, reduces esters and fusel alcohol production allowing you to ferment at warmer temperatures Distillation - with the addition of a T.C. reducer and condenser (H701 / DS120 / DS130) As a cellar keg for topping up barrels   Warning: Always depressurize keg before removing lid. KegLand Warming Wizard Wand | Immersion Heater | 125 Watt | 2" T.C.

    2 reviews

Low watt density heating element gently warms your fermenting beer without scorching Keep your fermentation temperature consistent during the colder months or raise the temp on command for diacetyl rests Connect directly to the BrewBuilt X3 Uni Conical via the dedicated 2" tri-clamp port for effective, in-solution heating Smooth, stainless steel construction is easy to clean after use Compatible with all sizes of X3 Uni Conicals Add this Immersion Heater to your BrewBuilt X3 Uni Conical for the ultimate control over your fermentation temperature. Connecting directly to the X3's dedicated 2" T.C. port at the side of the cone, the Immersion Heater will provide gentle, effective heating whenever you need it. A must-have for brewers living in colder climates or if you want the peace of mind that your temperature will never drop too low for your ale or kveik strains regardless of the time of year. Heating your fermenter on command can also come in handy if you need to bring your chilled wort up to temp before pitching, or if you need to perform a diacetyl rest after fermentation is complete. We recommend pairing the Immersion Heater with a temperature controller like the Inkbird so it will only be powered on as needed. If using the heater alongside the IceMaster Max 2 glycol chiller, you can insert the Max 2 temp probe into the X3's thermowell first and then insert the Inkbird's probe behind it. Both probes will be deep enough to get accurate temp readings and heating & cooling will be regulated by independent controllers. Another setup option is using the IceMaster 100 and the BrewBuilt Chiller Pump Kit. The IceMaster 100 does not come with built-in pumps so you can add your own submersible pumps as needed. Each Chiller Pump Kit includes an Inkbird controller and a submersible pump. The heater and pump are then both plugged into the Inkbird so heating & cooling are regulated by a single controller. The element runs at 125 watts when powered with the included IEC x 110V plug adapter (not pictured). Specs: 125W @ 110-120V (500W @ 220-240V) Total Length: 16" Length in Conical: 12" Cord Length: 5 ft. KegLand Part Number: KL35941 Please Note: The Warmking Wizard Wand is only compatible with X3 BrewBuilt Conicals. If interested in heating a previous generation conical, see the BrewBuilt Conical Heaters here.

  • Chugger Pump - High Temperature Stainless Steel - X-Dry - Inline Chugger Pump - High Temperature Stainless Steel - X-Dry - Inline

X-Dry Series Chugger Pump (Inline) - Stainless Steel

    5 reviews

Introducing the X-Dry Series Chugger Pumps! These pumps offer the same great quality we've come to expect from Chugger, but now feature Run-Dry Protection. Although the Chugger still needs to be primed before each use, the X-Dry Series offers a new level of protection from damage due to cavitation. The Chugger lineup of pumps represents a great value for an even better price. These pumps are workhorses in the brewery. Featuring a robust flow rate of 7 gpm, and a magnetic drive designed to handle back-pressure, these pumps are a great addition to any brewing setup! The Stainless Steel Chugger showcases their molded Stainless Steel Pump Head. This stainless pump is a steal for the price, and we've been more than happy with the quality! Use this to ease transfers between kettles, cool wort via a counterflow chiller, or recirculate icewater for quicker chilling! This Chugger pump model has 1/2" mpt inlet and outlet, allowing easy configuration for any application! We recommend setting these pumps up with a Ball valve on the outflow side, this way you can throttle down the outgoing flow rate, allowing for more efficient sparges or cooling! The pump head can also be rotated 360° (in 90° intervals) allowing for even more customization! Features: Run Dry Carbon Bearing Stainless Steel Inline Pump Head Food Grade up to 250° F 1/2" mpt inlet and outlet High Flow rate of 7 gpm Max Head 18.6 ft 115v 55" cord and plug attached 50/60 Hz, 1.4 amp 1/20 HP, 3500 RPM Note: When using silicone tubing, we recommend using a slighlty larger barb than the I.D. of the tubing. This is because silicone tubing tends to have greater pliability than most tubing. For example, when using 1/2" silicone tubing, we recommend our 5/8" barb (H620), to help ensure a better seal!

  • 35L BrewZilla - Gen 4.1 - 110-120V 35L BrewZilla - Gen 4.1 - 110-120V

    BrewZilla All Grain Brewing System | Gen 4.1 | Integrated Pump | Includes Wort Chiller | WiFi | Bluetooth | RAPT | 35L | 9.25G | 110V

Elevate your brewing game with the Gen 4 BrewZilla. This cutting-edge system combines innovative features like wireless connectivity via WiFi & Bluetooth, allowing you to control and monitor your brew day, ensuring precision, convenience, and exceptional beer batch after batch! WiFi / Bluetooth enabled RAPT Controller tracks your brewday and automatically uploads detailed information to the RAPT portal The top mounted RAPT Controller can be tilted upward for easy viewing, or detached from the unit to mount it on the wall or placed on your bench Mirror polished dome shaped bottom with center drain -- get every last bit of wort into your fermenter while the perforated bottom screen filters out 95% of hot break and hop matter Make larger batches or higher gravity beers! BrewZilla offers the largest malt pipe capacity for units in its size range, and the Gen 4 unit has a 30% larger malt pipe compared to the previous generation Perforated bottom on the newly designed malt pipe allows for improved mash recirculation flow without sacrificing efficiency Element power percentage can be adjusted via the RAPT Controller. Go full power to heat up quickly, or dial it down so you don't overshoot your strike water temp The built-in pump is plumbed to both the recirculation and arm and the bottom ball valve. Recirculate wort during your mash, then close the recirculation valve and pump wort to your fermenter via the bottom valve Pair with the RAPT-enabled Bluetooth Thermometer, allowing your BrewZilla to calculate a core mash temperature reading and more accurately control temperatures and mash steps More RAPT-enabled accessories are coming, and future firmware updates can be downloaded to the RAPT Controller itself over the internet WiFi/Bluetooth Enabled RAPT Controller The RAPT Controller is mounted to the top of the boiler body, allowing for easy operation when you have the unit set on the ground. The controller can be tilted upwards to give you an even better view, or it can be removed from the BrewZilla entirely if you'd prefer to mount the controller on your wall or lay it down on a workbench. From the controller, you'll orchestrate your entire brew day. Program mash steps, dial in element power, and operate the integrated pump all from one screen. But the RAPT Controller is much more than a beautiful, full-color display switch board. Once synced to the RAPT Portal, you'll be able to track, record and monitor your brews online. No need for handwriting notes or punching brew day details into your phone -- all of the data from your brew is automatically logged to your portal profile. This information doesn't just include your mash profile; it also captures detailed information about your element power and pump activity, opening the door for very precise repeatability. And the RAPT Portal isn't just a digital archive for your brew days. With your BrewZilla powered on, you can control your brewery from virtually anywhere using your phone's web browser. Not sure when you'll be home from work or your kid's ball game going into extra innings? No problem! Before you head out, simply log into the RAPT Portal from your phone and tell the BrewZilla to start heating your strike water. Along with remote control, the portal enables you to program alarms and push notifications for all of your boil additions. We've all been caught up with a side task and failed to throw in that yeast nutrient or clarifying agent at the end of the boil, but the BrewZilla has the back of even the most forgetful brewer! But wait, there's more! In addition to WiFi connectivity, the RAPT Controller is also a Bluetooth gateway device. KegLand is currently developing various Bluetooth devices such as the Bluetooth Beacon Thermometer and other sensors which will be compatible with your brewery upon release. The RAPT Controller is able to receive information from Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices, adjusting its processes based on this new stream of information while simultaneously logging it to your RAPT Portal. With the Bluetooth Beacon Thermometer, for example, you'll be able to feed temperature readings from the top of your mash bed to the controller. The controller will then compare this reading with the main temp probe reading at the base of the kettle and adjust element cycling based on these combined readings. Finally, the RAPT Controller WiFi connectivity allows you to update the controller's firmware with a single click. Take advantage of new features and accessories as soon as they become available by simply keeping your BrewZilla connected to your local WiFi network. And again, the WiFi is already built-in! No need to come back for an expensive add-on accessory down the road. High Capacity Malt Pipe With an approximately 23.5 lb capacity, the BrewZilla can mash nearly 50% more grain than similar sized models of the Anvil Foundry and Grainfather G30. If you want to fill your fermenter with more than a 5-gallon batch worth of wort, or brew the highest gravity beer recipes, the BrewZilla is the brewhouse for the job. And the included malt pipe is just the beginning. If you want to expand your brewery's grain capacity even further, KegLand makes Boiler Extension Kits and Extended Malt Pipes for that very purpose. The malt pipe features a perforated section at the bottom which improves mash recirculation flow without sacrificing efficiency. Concave Base with Center Draining Leave no wort behind! The concave base with center drain means you'll be able to extract every last drop of wort to your fermenter. If you've brewed in a traditional flat bottom kettle, this center drain may be a bit perplexing at first. Many brewers are used to whirlpooling after the boil to pull hop matter into the center of the kettle, then transfer out using a pick-up tube that pulls from the kettle wall in order to avoid sucking up the solids. But fear not! One of the key features of the BrewZilla is the false bottom protection screen. This screen avoids the need for doing a whirlpool, filtering wort as it transfers and blocking more than 95% of hops and hot break from getting sucked into the pump. This not only prevents blocked pump issues, it also increases the efficiency of your brewhouse by eliminating kettle loss from wort that may have otherwise been left behind. Ultra Low Watt Density Elements The concave base on the BrewZilla also allowed for larger heating elements with significantly lower watt density than other breweries. When a lot of energy is coming off of a small element, the local temperature near the element can be so high that it scorches the wort and causes caramelization. Lower watt density essentially means you can produce lighter color beers that would otherwise have fallen victim to caramelization effect. It also reduces that chance of boilovers and reduces stress on the elements which extends their life expectancy. Easy Access Built-In Pump The built-in pump allows you to recirculate your wort during the mash for improved efficiency and more even temperature distribution. But it can also be used to transfer your wort from kettle to fermenter rather than relying on a gravity feed, and with the optional CIP Rotar, you can used the pump to clean your BrewZilla (or fermenter) after every use. During your brew day you'll be able to control the pump from the RAPT Controller with a dedicated button for turning the pump on and off. Another feature you'll find on the controller is adjusting the pump flow. This doesn't control the actual volume of the flow (you can do that from the ball valve located on the recirculation arm), but rather cycles the pump on and off automatically based on your setting. At 100%, the pump remains on continuously. But at 80%, the pump will cycle to be on 80% of the time and off 20% of the time. This may not be a feature that every brewer thinks they need, but it's an excellent way to avoid running the pump dry accidentally, as the time the pump is off allows recirculating wort to filter through the grain bed and back into the pump inlet. If you flip over the boiler, you'll find the magnetic drive pump and all the plumbing is right at your fingertips. This means you don't have to disassemble the base in order to access the pump for cleaning or maintenance if required. It also means the plumbing can be changed more easily too. For instance, the unit comes as standard with the plumbing from the pump feeding both the recirculation arm and the transfer valve, but you change this so the tap outlet bypasses the pump if you prefer. MoreBeer!'s Final Word We've been selling all-in-one brewing systems ever since they first hit the market, and we have to say that the Gen 4 BrewZilla is not only the most feature-packed unit ever made, it's also offered at an incredibly competitive price point when compared to other systems. You'll get all of the cutting edge Bluetooth technology you'd get with the Grainfather and at an exceptionally lower price tag. Plus, you get the WiFi capabilities as standard, rather than as a $100 add-on accessory. When it comes to mash recirculation, that's yet another built-in feature on the BrewZilla, and the pump can also be used for transferring and CIP cleaning. The Foundry has a great starting price, but if you want to unlock its full potential, you'll need to spend another $100 for the recirculation pump kit. What's more, no other system in the same 'weight class' has the same grain capacity. KegLand Part Number: KL3276 Please note: due to patent restrictions in the United States, the malt pipe has been redesigned with one set of bottom feet. This model does not include the "two stage" malt pipe as advertised by KegLand and featured in previous MoreBeer! YouTube videos. Please Note: When removing the malt pipe to drain after mashing, it is important to do so slowly rather than in one swift pull. If the malt pipe is removed all at once when it is full of wort, it is possible for the draining wort to spray out and over the rim of the brewery through the perforated bottom. Remove the malt pipe slowly so that some of the wort can drain out before it is fully removed and set on its bottom feet. This can be done by hand on the 35L unit, but for the 65L and 100L units we highly recommend using the Pulley System for removing the malt pipe. Warning: Do not engage the adjustable lid clamps when brewing with the BrewZilla's standard glass lid. The clamps are only intended to be used with distillation lids or other metal accessories. With too much tension, it is possible for the lid clamps to break the glass lid when engaged. Warning: If you are going to use an extension cord with the BrewZilla, you must ensure that the cord is the correct gauge and properly rated to suit the power requirements of your brewery. See the reference chart below for the recommended gauge based on your unit and the length of cord you wish to use.   35L (110V) 35L (220V) 65L (220V) 100L (220V) 10 ft. 14 Gauge 14 Gauge 12 Gauge 10 Gauge 25 ft. 14 Gauge 14 Gauge 12 Gauge 10 Gauge 50 ft. 12 Gauge 12 Gauge 10 Gauge 8 Gauge   RAPT Gen 4 BrewZilla | User Manual

Beer Brewing Equipment Collection Article +

Home Brewing Beer Making beer at home is easy, rewarding and can lead to some amazing friendships & interactions. Like most people I started brewing at home with beer brewing kit from MoreBeer! The kit came with everything I needed to brew a batch of beer at home. Typical of most homebrewing starter kits, the equipment and beer recipe ingredients where for extract brewing. I know a lot of people that just dived right into all-grain brewing and there is nothing wrong with that approach. For myself and what I recommend to others as well is starting with extract brewing. It allows you to focus on a few steps in the brewing process as you are essentially starting from the boil. I think the old saying crawl, walk, run applies beautifully to learning to brew and most anything in life. By starting with extract you can focus on, in my opinion the two most important things in brewing; cleaning / sanitation and fermentation. Not to say can’t jump into all grain brewing and give these topics the respect they deserve. It’s just a lot easier to focus on and learn a few things at a time. After all you don’t eat an entire pizza at once, you have one slice at a time. Once you have brewed a few batches of extract beer a good natural progression is to try what they call a mini-mash. This essentially allows you get some of your sugars from mashing grains but still back it up with liquid or dried malt extract. Aside from allowing you to learn the brewing process in steps, it also allows you to upgrade your brewing system over time. Purchasing a complete all grain system can be expensive and if you’re just starting a new hobby it’s nice to spend as you go. However with systems like the RoboBrew/BrewZilla, getting started with all-grain brewing has never been more affordable and accessible.  When I started brewing these type of systems were not available though. Either way, most extract brewers move to all-grain brewing; as it allows you to take complete control over your beer recipe and intern the finished beer your making. Another topic worth mentioning is the social aspect of beer & brewing. We all know beer is a social drink, heck this country “The United States” was founded in pubs by revolutionary individuals. Sure it’s fun to sit back and enjoy a pint of a beer you made. But it’s even funnier to share a pint with friends and family. That leads to another great way to learn and improve your brewing, joining a homebrew club! For the first few years of my brewing career I brewed alone and only shared by creations with family and friends. It wasn’t until I was selling some homebrew equipment on the internet that I was directed towards joining a homebrew club. The person purchasing equipment from me asked if I was aware of the local homebrew club. It really never crossed my mind to seek out or join a club, but let me tell you; it was one of the best recommendations and things I could have ever done. Not only do you meet and network with likeminded brewers like yourself; the friendships that have come from the club have not only enriched my life it has my family as well. I know being social may not be for everyone, but meeting and speaking with other brewers is a great way to get More! out of an already amazing hobby! Regardless of your brewing path, be it extract or all grain or alone or with others; always remember to keep learning and have fun brewing, cheers!

What is Beer? Beer is a delicious alcoholic drink that is made by yeast, fermenting a malt sugar & water mixture that is typically flavored with hops. It has been brewed since the dawn of civilization, in fact, it’s even been credited for saving the world by some scientists and historians. The earliest evidence of beer production dates back to about 3500 BC. However, there is speculation that it was being produced as far back as 10,000 BC when humans first started farming malts. The ancient Sumerian text "The Hymn to Ninkasi" is a prayer but could also be considered the earliest written beer recipe. For thousands of years fermented malt beverages were being consumed by numerous civilizations, but none of them really resembled what we know as Beer today.  It wasn’t until 1516 AD in Bavaria when the Reinheitsgebot (Beer purity law) was adopted that it started to look, smell and taste like the alcoholic drink we all know and love today. The Reinheitsgebot is actually credited as the oldest food-quality regulation in history and is still in use to this day. It states that the only allowed ingredients in Beer are water, hops and malted barley.  Today, Beer is the third most popular drink in the world with only water and tea in front of it. Cheers to a long history, a bright future and another round of our favorite drink, BEER! Types of Beer One of the reasons it's is so popular is that there is literally something for everyone. Beer styles can range from sweet to bitter or even sour and everything in between. Beer is commonly categorized into two varieties: Ales and Lagers . An Ale is produced with a top fermenting yeast called Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This strain of yeast typically clumps together and rises towards the top of the fermenter. The recommended fermentation temperature range for ale yeast is between 15–25°C (59–77°F). Ale yeast is known for its higher ester production that is commonly described as “Fruity” and comes across as apple, pear, pineapple, etc. A Lager is cool fermented and produced with a bottom fermenting yeast called Saccharomyces pastorianus. This strain is typically fermented around 7–12°C (45–54°F) and then aged at even cooler temps for several weeks or up to several months. The original German word lager means “storehouse” representing this cold storage step, but now the term is synonymous with a beer style and not the literal interpretation. Less popular than the two previous styles, but none less delicious, is the Lambic styles of Belgium , also called “Wild” or “Mixed Fermentation” in regions outside of Belgium. These styles are fermented with a Saccharomyces strain of yeast as well as Bretttanomyces and Lactobacillus bacteria. This use of bacteria gives them a sour or “funky” taste. These three high level classifications are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to beer styles. In fact, there is an organization called the BJCP ( Beer Judge Certification Program ) that was founded in 1985 to encourage the knowledge and understanding of the world’s diverse styles. As of their last published style guidelines, there are 34 top level styles with over 100 substyles categorized. And with how popular craft beer has become lately, this list of recognized styles will only continue to grow. Making your own Beer If you found this page and read your way down to this section you obviously love and enjoy beer. In our experience one of the most enjoyable beer is the one you made yourself. Not only is it very rewarding and enjoyable it’s super easy to get started making your own beer at home . You can start with just a few pieces of brewing starter equipment and make amazing beer. Just as types can be boiled down (pun intended) to two high level classifications, so can brewing beer. These types are called Extract Brewing and All Grain Brewing . Extract brewing is what most home brewers start with due to it requiring less equipment and fewer process steps overall. With extract brewing you primarily just need a boil kettle and a fermenter . A majority of the malt sugars you will be fermenting come from an “Extract ”, LME ( Liquid Malt Extract ) or DME ( Dried Malt Extract ) hence the name. With all grain brewing you need a few more pieces of equipment as you will be creating your own malt sugars from scratch using crushed malted grains. In most traditional all grain brewing systems you have three vessels, a HLT (Hot Liquor Tank), MT (Mash Tun) , BK (Boil Kettle) and a Fermenter. There is also a hybrid approach called BIAB (Brew In A Bag) that allows you to perform an all-grain brew in a single vessel. With extract brewing, a typical brew day takes about 2-3 hours from start to finish, whereas all grain brewing typically takes about 4-6 hours. Both types of brewing can create amazing results and have different advantages to them. To learn More! about brewing in general click the Brewing button below.
