Porter | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
A classic Porter recipe with a smooth, creamy body and delicious roasty flavor Includes Northern Brewer and Cascade hops Estimated ABV: 4.8% Estimated IBUs: 31-34 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A classic Porter recipe and a fantastic first dark beer! A super drinkable, smooth, delicious beer that everyone loves. Chocolate and Black Patent malts are the defining malts that give Porter its dark color and roasty flavor. Our recipe also features dextrin powder which gives it a creamy body. The Northern Brewer hops impart a nice, but not overpowering, bitterness. This recipe was designed by Regan Dillon, original MoreBeer! partner, whose favorite beer style was Porter. Regan has made this Porter recipe since the 1980's so you can be assured it has passed the test of time. Jamil Zainesheff, owner of Heretic Brewing, said this Porter was the first inspiration for his future Porters, such as Shallow Grave. High praise! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.048-52 SRM (Color Range): 29-30 IBUs: 31-34 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 4.8% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”. For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Galaxy® | Pellet Hops
One the most popular hops in craft brewing today, Galaxy hops are adored for their huge oil content and pungent citrus and passionfruit flavors. This single hop variety accounts for the majority of hop yield coming from Australia, and is still one of the more difficult hops to get your hands on. It's so popular that we have to contract for it years in advance, so be sure to shore up your supply when it's in stock! This tantalizing dual purpose hop can be used up and down the hopping schedule and is an absolute stunner when used late in the boil, whirlpool, or dry hopping. Expect big aromas of peach with hints of pineapple and tropical fruit. Use liberally in all hop-forward styles, including IPAs, Pale Ales, Hazys, hoppy lagers, or any beer where you want to add a little tropical twist. Hop Statistics: Alpha Acids: 13.5 – 14.8% Beta Acids: 5.8 – 6.0% Alpha-Beta Ratio: 2.25 – 2.55 Cohumulone: (% of alpha acids): 35% Total Oils in mls per 100 grams dried: 2.4 – 2.7 Similar Hop Varieties: Citra® Galaxy® is a registered trademark owned by Hop Products Australia. 6.5 Gallon Bottling And Siphonless Fermentation Bucket
Perfect for use as a 5-gallon batch beer fermenter or bottling bucket Comes with a pre-drilled hole so you can pair it with the spigot of your choice—see recommended spigots below under "You Might Also Need" Once you've upgraded to a carboy or other fermenter, the bucket will remain a reliable brewing tool for cleaning and sanitizing purposes External volume markers provide a convenient reference point when filling the bucket with water to make cleaner or sanitizer solution A six gallon food grade bucket for fermentation or bottling with a pre drilled hole and external volume markings up to five gallons. This bucket does not include a spigot. Our recommended spigots can be found below under You Might Also Need. To use as a fermenter you will need to pick up the optional lid, spigot, stopper, and an airlock. If you use the bucket for fermentation be sure to use care when cleaning. Do not use any abrasive pads that would scratch. Once you get a scratch in a plastic bucket it is very hard to sanitize. This is also why we don't recommend storing equipment in a bucket between uses as a fermenter. A hot PBW soak is often a perfect way to clean a bucket, followed by a Star San soak for killing bacteria. Please Note: Buckets are translucent and do not come with lids Buckets are not designed to hold pressure Lids are not gasketed and so do not always form a perfect, airtight seal. Not intended for long-term storage Food-Grade to 180°F

MoreHaze! Juicy Double IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
A delicious, juicy, New England Double IPA. Juicy and citrusy with a little dank Includes Columbus, Cascade, Amarillo®, Mosaic®, Simcoe®, and Citra® hops Estimated ABV: 9.1% Estimated IBUs: 32 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer MoreHaze! is a delicious, juicy, NE style double IPA. This beer was brewed as a collaboration between EJ Phair Brewing Co. and MoreBeer! We liked the beer so much that we wanted people to be able to brew it at home. The beer is very high in alcohol (9.1% ABV), low in bitterness, light in color and loaded with hops. We dry hopped this beer in multiple stages, added lots of high protein grains and did not use any clarifying agents, which leads to a hazy beer loaded with flavor. Flavor and aroma is very citrusy (orange, tangerine, grapefruit) and mildly danky. The large addition of wheat and oats adds a soft, pillowy texture to the beer. The feed back was that this beer is delicious and dangerously easy to drink at such a high ABV. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.086-1.090 SRM (Color Range): 4-5 IBUs: 32 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 9.1% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Carapils Malt - Briess Malting
1.7 °L - Briess Malting - Carapils adds body, mouthfeel and improves head retention by adding dextrines, proteins, non-starch polysaccharides, and other body-building compounds into your wort. Carapils is usually used at a level of 5% or less of your total all-grain malt bill. However it can be used at a higher rate in special cases, say if you are making a Session IPA, and are trying to simulate a higher gravity beer. Because of its extremely light color and neutral flavor it won't have much affect on the final color or flavor of your beer. Carapils belongs to a category of malts labeled as Dextrine, sometimes Dextrin, malts. We mention this because you might see either of these names in your recipe. You can steep Carapils in an extract batch but will only get about 20% utilization, or 20% of the goodies of this malt dissolved into your beer. While not as complex as Carapils malt, for extract brewing some brewers prefer to use dextrin powder.

Brew Bucket Mini Fermenter - 3.5 gal.
Upgrade your home brewery with an innovative, Stainless Steel, 3.5 Gallon Brew Bucket™ Fermenter! Many have asked for a smaller BrewBucket, and that has been heard. The Brew Bucket mini is perfect for 2.5 gallon batches. With features similar to the original 7 gallon Brew Bucket, the Mini is a great way to do smaller batches. Whether you are interested in splitting a 5 gallon batch for experimenting, or just brew 2.5 gallons, the BrewBucket Mini is a great choice. Featuring a conical bottom, 304 SS construction, a rotating racking arm valve, and stackable design, these are space saving feature rich fermenters that are easy and enjoyable to use. We inspected and used the Brew Bucket™ and one of the most unique features that stood out is that the Brew Bucket can be stacked during fermentation, even with an airlock attached. We also like the conical bottom that allows trub to settle out in a concentrated space that minimizes the surface area of the trub that is in contact with your beer. The included Patent Pending Rotating Racking Valve is also a brilliantly simple design allowing you to rotate the racking arm inside the Brew Bucket down during fermentation to minimize trub, and later up to get clear beer when racking! Etched Volume Markers on the inside were super handy when filling. The build quality is really amazing for the price. Welds are clean. The lid is strong and the spring loaded lid hatches are solid. The lid includes a removable, molded silicone gasket that ensures an airtight seal. We love an airtight seal so that we can be sure to see the airlock working. The welded on stainless handles make the BrewBucket fermentor super easy to move. BrewBuilt® Brewing Kettle | 1.5" Tri-Clamp | Dual Port | Front/Back Handles
Welded 1.5" tri-clamp ports for a lifetime of leak-free use Front & back positioned handles reduce the space needed to arrange multiple kettles in a horizontal system 304 stainless steel construction with mirror polish finish Notched lid provides cover while not interfering with immersion chillers, hop bags, or other accessories Choose from Boil Kettle, Hot Liquor Tank or Mash Tun configurations The Boil Kettle comes without fittings The Hot Liquor Tank includes a Kettle Maximizer and Thermometer with 2" Probe The Mash Tun includes a False Bottom Kit and Thermometer with 6" Probe Add your preferred Valve Hardware Pack below under You Might Also Need or purchase your own valve & fittings separately Designed for Brewing. Built to Last. BrewBuilt brew kettles are made from 304 stainless steel and offer an unparalleled mix of features for the price. At the very top of the list are two welded-in place tri-clamp couplers that offer a lifetime of leak free use. As you can imagine, welding in a coupler costs more than punching a hole and using a gasketed (i.e. weld-less) fitting. Welded fittings offer a permanent connection that to us is worth every penny. The second unique feature that we absolutely love about these brew kettles is the notched lid with silicone plug. This notch allows you so much flexibility; you can use an immersion chiller, one of our Ultimate Sparge Arms for mashing, tie off hop bags, take a temp reading during cooling, or whatever else we all can dream up. Our new T.C. kettles were designed to keep pace with the ever-evolving world of brewing technology. Tri-clamp fittings are standard fare in professional breweries, and they’ve been widely adopted in homebrewing as T.C. fermenters and pumps become more affordable and widely available. Tri-clamp fittings, also known as Tri-clover, allow you to make a sanitary connection that is free of nooks and crannies for contaminants to take hold. They are much easier to break down for cleaning compared to threaded connections, and they don’t require Teflon tape to make a watertight seal. T.C. fittings and accessories also give you the distinct advantage of being able to clean in place (CIP), so you don’t need to break down your entire system after every brew day. Configurations The base boil kettle comes without fittings so you can modify it the specific tri-clamp accessories that best suit your needs. Add one of the optional Brewing Kettle Valve Packs above which include your choice of valve and all the hardware you'll need to connect 1/2" ID transfer tubing, as well as an end cap to seal the top port if a thermometer or other accessory is not in place. The Hot Liquor Tank includes the base kettle plus a kettle maximizer for the bottom port and thermometer with 2" probe for the top port. Clamps and gaskets are included to attach the tri-clamp kettle maximizer and the thermometer. The Mash Tun includes the base kettle plus a false bottom kit for the bottom port and thermometer with 6" probe for the top port. Clamps and gaskets are included to attach the tri-clamp false bottom maximizer and the thermometer. Kettles do not come with a valve or additional fittings for the bottom port as standard. Add one of our pre-configured Valve Packs or purchase your preferred valve and fittings separately. This Brew Kettle has a lot to offer... Some other features we dig include the internal volume markers from the bottom to the top - so handy for instant reads. The silicone sleeved handles on the kettle and the lid are a cool feature to protect your hands. The tri-clad bottom with a 4mm core of aluminum sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel offers even heat distribution during the boil and also makes it a perfect choice for anyone wanting to use an induction burner. Beefy 304 Stainless These kettles are made from 304 grade stainless. That means you will have less corrosion issues than with a kettle made from lower grade 201 type stainless. We put these kettles through a corrosive salt water test in the MoreBeer! shop and they passed with flying colors. We also made sure the rivets and riveted handles were also made of stainless steel for a long term, trouble free life. The 10 and 15 gallon size are made from 1.0mm thick stainless steel. The 20, 30 and 50 gallon size are made with 1.2mm stainless - that's pretty thick stuff - and you will know it when you pick one up. Mirror Polish Finish The mirror polish finish isn’t just for making your Instagram feed pop! This extra slick finish is much easier to clean and sanitize than a standard brushed stainless kettle. Hop trub and other organic solids left behind after a brew day will have a hard time clinging to the interior surface and scrub away with ease. Size Ratios and Stuff All the BrewBuilt kettles follow the recent trend to a 1.2:1 ratio where the height is 1.2 times the diameter. This is a proven commercial ratio that has been adopted in homebrewing to achieve a more consistent 10% evaporation rate during the boil. We do like this ratio for boiling. For Mashing we would prefer a little bit shallower but that is a small compromise. Dimensions for a hot-liquor tank, if you are thinking brewing system down the road, are irrelevant as any ratio kettle will do. Features: Two welded T.C. couplers for a lifetime of leak free use Front & back oriented handles with silicone coated handles for heat protection Notched lid with silicone plug for flexibility 304 stainless steel construction for longevity 1.0mm (10 & 15 gal) or 1.2mm (20, 30 & 50 gal) thick side walls resist denting 4mm Tri-Clad Aluminum bottom sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel for no scorching Internally etched volume markers from top to bottom for easy reading 1.2:1 Ratio is optimal for boiling evaporation rate Lid is designed to conveniently hang from a handle Stainless handles with stainless rivets for secure lifting Size Kettle ID (in.) Abstrax® Quantum Series | Hop Extract | Mosaic®
Derived from T-90 Mosaic® pellet hops to perfectly replicate the aroma profile while omitting undesirable compounds found in hop vegetal matter Flavor/Aroma: Citrus, Pine, Floral The perfect hop: Using 100% hop-derived terpenes, Abstrax builds exact profiles to match the flavor and aroma of an exemplary lot of Mosaic® hops Consistent results every time. Eliminates the variance of using hops that may differ by age, crop year, storage conditions, growing region, processing method or farm Replace pellet hops: 5mL is equal to roughly 5.5 oz of pellet hops, while 1 oz of Quantum is equal to 2 lbs of pellet hops Mosaic® Quantum Brite Sharing its parentage with SIM and Nugget, Mosaic® could be considered to be the second most successful hop in the world behind Citra®. Mosaic® is a robust blend of funky grapefruit and pine with light floral notes. Optimized Hop Extracts Compared to other hop-extracts, the Quantum Series tastes better, performs better, and is easier to use. It works with everything from Pils to Porters with no special handling required. Easily flowable at cool, ambient, and warm temperatures. Gone are the days of warming up your extract or scrubbing the sticky gunk out of your equipment. Compared to hops and pellets, the Quantum Series offers a 100% utilization rate and can be used at any stage of the brewing process. It cuts down on shipping and storage costs by an order of magnitude, not to mention the labor savings from not having to lug boxes around. Quantum Tastes Better The Quantum Series is an evolutionary leap forward in aroma and brewing technology. When you get down to it, nobody wants to use an extract product that makes their beer taste worse off. Extracts have taken a bad rap because they can often add more problems than they solve and, frankly, they don’t always taste the greatest. Abstrax gets it. That’s why, above all else, flavor and aroma come first with Quantum. Dosage Consider 1mL of Quantum Brite the flavor/aroma equivalent of 1 oz of T-90 pellet hops. Add after fermentation is complete, ideally at the coldest and latest point in your process, in your fermenter, keg, or bottling bucket. Or even add a drop or two to spike your finished beer in the glass. Features: 100% efficient flavor/aroma transfer Consistent from batch to batch No yield loss from absorption Quantum will not affect IBU test results and cannot cause lightstruck off-flavors Zero Undesirable Plant Compounds No Lipids No Chlorophyll Recommended storage: 40-90°F. Do not freeze. Mosaic® is a registered trademark owned by Yakima Chief Hops, LLC.

Absolutely EVERYTHING you need to start brewing! Named Best Homebrewing Kit for Beginners by Wirecutter, A New York Times Company. The complete home brewery kit! Includes everything you need to brew 5 gallons of delicious beer at home! High quality 5-gallon stainless steel kettle perfect for brewing Fermonster brand brewing fermenter is clear so you see fermentation activity and eliminates the need to siphon with built-in spigot Step-by-Step instruction pamphlet fine-tuned over 20 years for easy success Your choice of recipe kit included Make brewing fun and easy with our new Deluxe Homebrewing Starter Kit only from MoreBeer!. This beer brewing starter kit includes the nearly indestructible Fermonster fermenter, a five gallon stainless steel brewing kettle, an ingredient kit of your choice and all the time-tested equipment you need to brew up 5 gallons / 2 cases of beer per batch. With the Deluxe Homebrew Starter Kit, you can choose from several recipes including the American Ale Hoppy Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale, I Heart IPA, and German Hefeweizen. The Fermonster Fermenter - A Huge Upgrade Over Standard Buckets or Glass "Carboy" Water BottlesUnlike buckets or glass carboys, the Fermonster fermenter was designed for brewing beer. It is made from tough, clear, virgin grade PET plastic so you can see the magic of fermentation. Unlike glass it will never break and shatter if dropped. It represents a huge upgrade over traditional buckets because these fermenters are much less likely to get scratched. Scratches can hold bacteria that can cause off flavors in the beer. The Fermonster comes with a built-in spigot that eliminates a long time issue in homebrewing of having to start a siphon to transfer your beer to the bottling bucket after fermentation is over. The large 4" lid allows for easily adding yeast, hops, or other additions. We also really love the molded-in level markers that tell you exactly when you have reached your desired volume. Five Gallon Stainless Kettle - It's Bigger Than What You Have in Your KitchenOver the years we found that many brewers thought they had a big enough kettle. They would go home only to return and buy our five gallon stainless steel brewing kettle. To make brewing easy, we've discounted our five gallon brewing kettle to be able to include it from the start! Plus, because it is made of food-grade stainless steel, you don’t have to worry about any off flavors imparted by your boil kettle. We Don't Skimp on Cleaning and SanitizingProper cleaning and sanitizing is one of the core tenants of making great beer. Some starter kits utilize an all-in-one cleaner/sanitizer that does neither job well. We’ve included the best-selling sanitizer for brewing, Star San. We also include Craftmeister oxygen-based cleaning tablets that make cleaning your Fermonster Fermenter a breeze. Other Upgrades That Make Brewing EasierWe’ve also made a few items standard that really make the brew day easier including a thermometer for temperature monitoring and a hydrometer with testing jar for measuring sugar levels. Our reusable mesh bags allow for the easy removal of spent grain and hops at the end of the boil. The included stainless spoon is a really nice upgrade over plastic when you are stirring boiling liquids. Easy, How-To Instructions & an Actual 800#We've taught hundreds of thousands of people how to brew in over 25 years. Our instructions are clear and simple to follow and will have you making great beer with batch number one. If you have any questions, call our on-staff brewmasters at 1-800-600-0033. In an age where 800-numbers and real customer service is going away, you can still call us and ask a question. Recipe Options: American Ale produces a light colored, hoppy Pale Ale that puts the beloved Cascade hop on full display. Cascade hops are one of the classic American hop varieties, and we love them for their citrus, grapefruit character. Irish Red Ale is a genre-defying brew that continues to be one of our best-selling kits year after year. You'll love the deep, red color and distinct caramel flavor. I Heart IPA was inspired by Bell's Two Hearted Ale, a universally adored IPA that features front-to-back hop additions of Centennial. Malt character takes a back seat to the pungent quality of citrus and lemon notes. German Hefeweizen has a lovely blond color and distinct hazy appearance in the glass. This kit uses 100% Bavarian Wheat malt extract with just a dash of Northern Brewer hops for bittering. This Kit Includes: 6 Gallon Fermonster fermenter with spigot, stopper and airlock 5 Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle Food-Grade Bottling Bucket with spigot Mesh Bags for steeping grain and hops on brew day Thermometer for easy temperature management Hydrometer for making key sugar readings Transfer Tubing Bottling Wand with shut off valve Sturdy Bottle Capper Bottle Caps Bottle Cleaning Brush Star San Sanitizer for true sanitization Large Stainless Steel Spoon for mixing Craftmeister Cleaning Tablets for easy cleaning Your choice of recipe kit with yeast included Everything You Need to Brew in One Box: This kit includes everything you need to start brewing amazing beer at home, all in one easy to wrap box. With our simple to follow step-by-step instructions and included choice of a delicious recipe kit, you will be brewing up your first batch of beer in no time at all. Don't settle for less when picking your homebrewing kit, pick MoreBeer! because we give you More! Fermonster Carboy - 6 gal. With Spigot: The Ported Fermonster is a brand-new fermenter designed specifically for fermentation. MoreBeer! gave product feedback for over 2 years of development and we think they nailed the design. The large lid allows for easy filling and makes hop or oak additions a breeze. The smooth sides are fantastic for sanitization - no ribs or texture to collect yeast or bacteria. The punted bottom allows sediment to collect to the sides so that you can siphon liquid from the center. Because they are made from virgin PET plastic, they're nearly unbreakable and a lot safer than similar glass carboys. Also notice the conical top which reduces surface area if you plan to store beer or wine long term. Five Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle: Made of high-quality stainless steel that is anything but cheap. The 0.5-mm thick sides and bottom are more than thick enough for this amount of liquid, and the riveted stainless steel handles on the kettle’s body make it easy to carry, even when filled. This 5-gallon kettle can safely hold up to 3 gallons of wort while boiling, making it the perfect size for brewing right in your own home! Great Customer Service Since 1995: As avid homebrewers ourselves, we strive to help new brewers make great beer right from the first batch. ObSession IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
At just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lover's dream. A truly sessionable IPA overflowing with hop character Includes Warrior®, Centennial, and Simcoe® hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 58-62 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you're looking for a new session IPA to obsess over, look no further! We recently changed this recipe slightly, making all finishing hops Centennial (rather than a blend between Centennial and HBC-342). We made sure to keep the Simcoe® dry hop though, as we felt this really brought a "pop" to the aroma! While the general rule of thumb has been "one or two IPAs and you're feeling it", at just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lovers dream. The type of IPA that you can open up at noon, get the grill going, and forget worrying about how you're going to feel after drinking 8% IPAs for a few hours! (Yes, we know that feeling too...) A half pound of corn sugar helps this one finish out nice and dry, while a small amount of acidulated malt will help make those hops pop. The clean bitterness of Warrior® balances perfectly with a slightly sweet malt profile, all topped off with a white, frothy head thanks to the wheat malt. So what are you waiting for?! Order your kit today and let the obsession begin! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.048-1.052 SRM (Color Range): 5-6 IBUs: 58-62 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Simcoe® and Warrior® are registered trademarks owned by Yakima Chief Hops, LLC.
