Perfect for use as a 5-gallon batch beer fermenter or bottling bucket
Comes with a pre-drilled hole so you can pair it with the spigot of your choice—see recommended spigots below under "You Might Also Need"
Once you've upgraded to a carboy or other fermenter, the bucket will remain a reliable brewing tool for cleaning and sanitizing purposes
External volume markers provide a convenient reference point when filling the bucket with water to make cleaner or sanitizer solution
A six gallon food grade bucket for fermentation or bottling with a pre drilled hole and external volume markings up to five gallons. This bucket does not include a spigot. Our recommended spigots can be found below under You Might Also Need. To use as a fermenter you will need to pick up the optional lid, spigot, stopper, and an airlock.
If you use the bucket for fermentation be sure to use care when cleaning. Do not use any abrasive pads that would scratch. Once you get a scratch in a plastic bucket it is very hard to sanitize. This is also why we don't recommend storing equipment in a bucket between uses as a fermenter. A hot PBW soak is often a perfect way to clean a bucket, followed by a Star San soak for killing bacteria.
Please Note:
Buckets are translucent and do not come with lids
Buckets are not designed to hold pressure
Lids are not gasketed and so do not always form a perfect, airtight seal. Not intended for long-term storage
Food-Grade to 180°F

Throw on a pair of shades and button up your favorite floral print shirt, this ambrosial IPA is a vacation in a glass. Our Flamingos & Fronds IPA clone kit was inspired by Alvarado Street Brewery's Mai Tai PA, an extraordinarily tropical brew comprised of 100% Mosaic® hop additions. While technically a SMaSH beer (single malt and single hop), this delicious west coast IPA has a surprisingly complex flavor and aroma profile that perfectly expresses the versatility of Mosaic® hops. Take a deep breath and let waves of passion fruit, mango, and lychee wash over you while sipping a pint of Flamingos & Fronds. Close your eyes and you'll hear the wind lightly rustling through the palms as a flock of wading birds quietly gabble and honk in the distance. Relax. You've earned a break from life's unrelenting hustle and bustle, if only for as long as there's beer left in your glass.

Vanilla beans are a great way for the adventurous homebrewer to impart a different and unique flavor to their beers.
These Bourbon Vanilla Beans from Madagascar are fresh, (unlike the dry beans you typically see in grocery stores) and ready to be used in whatever beer you like.
To use, simply slice the bean open lengthwise and add to your Secondary or Keg. Remove when the Vanilla flavor is at the desired strength. 1-2 beans are fine for a slight Vanilla flavor, but some brewers will push the limits and add the third bean. Are you a three-bean-brewer? (This would typically be done in an Oatmeal Stout or a similarly heavy beer.)

This recipe comes from the late homebrewing legend—and our dear friend—Mike “Tasty” McDole. Mike is one of the best homebrewers we’ve ever known, and one of our original customers way back when the entire MoreBeer! operation fit inside a storage shed. Aside from brewing many award-winning beers, Tasty helped grow homebrewing as a hobby, and as a community, here in the Bay Area and well beyond. For many years you could walk outside our Concord showroom on a Friday afternoon and see Mike with the tail gate down on his Four Runner a 2.5 gallon keg in hand. We miss those special times.
Janet’s Brown Ale is the recipe for which Mike won the 2004 National Homebrew Convention gold medal in its category. He once told us the most important critique he ever received was from his late wife, Janet. She really loved this brown ale and it was her favorite of all Mike’s creations. When you’re done brewing this beer, we ask that you raise a glass and toast to the memory of Janet and Mike McDole.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
Smooth, ribless design prevents yeast and bacteria buildup, making sanitation a breeze Punted bottom and conical top promote sediment collection and reduce oxidation during storage Extra-wide 4" mouth opening simplifies filling, additions, and cleaning Constructed from heavy-duty, virgin PET plastic without plasticizers Made with food-grade and BPA-free materials The Fermonster is a brand new fermenter designed specifically for fermentation. MoreBeer! gave product feedback for over 2 years of development and we think they nailed the design. The large lid allows for easy filling and makes hop or oak additions a breeze. The smooth sides are fantastic for sanitization - no ribs or texture to collect yeast or bacteria. The punted bottom allows sediment to collect to the sides so that you can siphon liquid from the center. Because they are made from virgin PET plastic, they're nearly unbreakable and a lot safer than similar glass carboys. Also notice the conical top which reduces surface area if you plan to store beer or wine long term. These ported versions come with our plastic spigot (FE347), allowing for easy racking and sampling! Made from heavy PET plastic, the same material used in 2 L soda bottles, which is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration. Due to the thickness of the material and the overall geometry, the Fermonster does not require ribs or dimples for stability. That results in a super smooth interior surface that reduces yeast and sediment buildup making it the easiest to clean, most sanitary PET carboy on the market. The huge 4" opening makes filling a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as wiping down the inside. These fermentors are completely air-tight and the lids sealed tight with an O-Ring. Additional O-Rings and Lids both with and without holes are available for purchase, see our You Might Also Need items below. Features: 4" inner diameter wide mouth carboy - easy to clean! Food grade PET plastic construction is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration No hard to clean dimples or ribs Punted bottom O-Ring and Lid with one hole is included (Fits #10 Stopper) Additional O-Rings and Lids available Weight: 1.5 lbs Temperature Limit: 140° F Height: 14.6 inches Diameter: 9 inches Completely taste and odor free Perfect for Beer, Wine, Cider, Mead, Kombucha or any other fermented beverage! Thick walls for better oxygen barrier. Please note: the pictured #10 Stopper (FE470VS) and three piece airlock (FE370) are not included.

We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: 2-Row, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! The original Double IPA! Vinnie Cilurzo began homebrewing in 1989 while in college. In 1994 Vinnie started the Blind Pig Brewing Company in Temecula, CA, a small, low-budget micro-brewery known for their extremely hoppy IPA—an IPA which won silver medals at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Vinnie sold his share in Blind Pig and was hired to manage and brew at the Russian River Brewing Company, a start-up brewery by Korbel Champagne in Guerneville, CA. In late 2002 Korbel decided to get out of the beer business and sold the Russian River name and brand to Vinnie who moved the brewery to Santa Rosa, CA, 90 miles North of San Francisco, where he and his wife Natalie opened a brew-pub which serves delicious bites and, of course, all of the Russian River Ales. Vinnie has won 10 awards at the Great American Beer Festival in just six years and was named Small Brewing Company Brewmaster of the Year in 1999. Russian River's smashing success continues to this day, expanding and opening a second brewery in Windsor, CA. Almost every beer that Vinnie makes commercially started out as a homebrew recipe at one point or another. Even as a professional brewer, Vinnie still homebrews at least 5 or 6 times a year.
This is the original homebrew recipe that was the basis for Blind Pig IPA which won Silver Medals at the World Cup of Beer and the Great American Beer Festival in 1996, the last year Vinnie brewed it. Two dry hop additions along with 1 oz of American Oak are added directly to the fermenter after the first week of fermentation. To say it is a very unique, extremely flavorful IPA is an understatement. Vinnie recommends using White Labs California yeast, WLP001.

Pale Malt Extract is made from 2-row and Carapils for a more pronounced malt flavor than Ultralight
Added body and mouthfeel. Perfect for Pale Ales and IPAs
Can be used as 100% of your fermentable sugar in extract brewing
Add for color correction, boost gravity, or improve head retention in all grain brewing
A little darker than Ultralight, the Pale Malt Extract has a more pronounced malt flavor. Made with American 2-row with Carapils added for body and mouthfeel. Perfect for Pale Ales, IPA's and all darker style beers. If you are making a darker beer you simply steep darker specialty grains to obtain the flavor and color you are looking for.
Packaged in a special metallic, oxygen barrier bag that unlike plastic jugs does not allow any oxidation to occur. Does fresh extract make a difference? Decide for yourself!
We recommend customers store their extract in the refrigerator if they do not plan on using it within 8 weeks.

Bottle capper, hydrometer, bottling wand and more, all bundled together at an unbeatable price.
The FermZilla Flat Bottom Fermenter is an excellent option for making all kinds of beverages, from beer and wine to kombucha and cold brew coffee. Why MoreBeer! loves the Flat Bottom FermZilla:
Super smooth PET makes cleaning very easy.
Tight-sealing lid and PET material make for a better oxygen barrier than fermenters made of HDPE.
Lightweight and easy to move around, yet strong enough to be considered shatterproof.
The 4.75" lid opening makes it easy to get your arm inside and clean after use.
The lid is designed for the easy installation of accessories such as a thermowell or cooling coil.
Affordable! The Flat Bottom is one of the most affordable plastic fermenters in this size range.

Suitable for both hops and steeping grains. We highly recommend using a steeping bag for hops to keep vegetal matter contained in the boil kettle and out of your fermenter. If you use a counterflow chiller or plate chiller for cooling, filtering hops is even more important as these devices can clog if too much hop matter passes through them.
The hop sock does not have a drawstring. You will want to tie the end in a knot to keep it closed.

2.1-3.2 °L - Viking Pale Ale Malt is the perfect base malt for traditional Pale Ales, IPA's, Ambers, Browns, Porters, Stouts, etc.. As a traditional english style pale ale malt it has a high degree of modification making it very easy to mash.
The rich maltiness adds layers of flavor to any ale.
Viking Malt is one of the largest malting companies in the world and the largest roaster of specialty malts. They are the main malt supplier to the famous Carlsberg brewery. Viking is not well known in the USA because they haven't had good US distribution. Because MoreBeer! and MoreBeer! Pro is directly importing thousands of tons of malt we are stoked to offer you Northern European malt quality from one of the best malting companies in the world at lower than domestic malt pricing.
Viking Malt has 6 malthouses in areas where distinctive Nordic barley are sourced: in Halmstad, Sweden; Vordingborg, Denmark; Lahti, Finland; Panevezys, Lithuania and in Sierpc and Strzegom, Poland. The advantage of northern European malt is lower protein levels, good kernel size, and less amount of pesticides used due to the cold winters.

Torrified wheat is a pre-gelatinized unmalted brewers wheat that can be used as a cereal grain/adjunct in the mash, and can replace malted wheat if you desire. Increases body and head retention, as well as adding a very slight toasted flavor. We recommend using Rice Hulls with this grain to avoid a stuck mash.

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals

This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: Ultralight malt extract, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out!
