Celebrating the wonderfully tropical hops of New Zealand. A clean-drinking, highly aromatic Hazy IPA
Includes Wai-iti, Wakatu, Waimea, Motueka, and Nelson hops
Estimated ABV: 6.6%
Estimated IBUs: 27
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
If you're in love with Southern Hemisphere hops as much as we are, you're going to fall head over heels for this Hazy IPA. Kiwi Kiss is our ode to the many delicious hop varietals that hail from New Zealand. Hops were first planted on the north and south islands by British settlers in the mid-1800s, but it wasn't until the early 21st-century that NZ-grown hops really exploded in popularity. As beer drinkers began flocking to more tropical, citrus-forward interpretations of IPA, brewers began to recognize the potential for the hops exporting from kiwi country. Today, New Zealand hops are widely sought after for their highly aromatic quality and delicious array of fresh flavors. Kiwi Kiss is a clean, lightly-colored, Hazy IPA with a moderate alcohol level. Wai-iti, Wakatu, and Waimea make multiple appearances throughout the hop bill, with Motueka and Nelson added during the double dry hopping.

Dark Hill Porter is a tribute to one of our favorite west coast porters. This Black Butte Porter clone, commercially brewed by Deschutes Brewery in Oregon, is one of the most well-rounded porters out there. Being bittered with Bravo hops helps to initially balance the malty backbone, but that bitterness fades quickly, providing a smooth transition into the complex flavors of four different character malts. This combination of Wheat, Carapils, Crystal 120L, and Chocolate malts create a rounded mouthfeel and chocolate flavor.
If you like dark beers, you're going to love our Dark Hill Porter. If you don't like dark beers, this just might be the one to change your mind!

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals

We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: Ultralight malt extract, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out!

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Automatically release pressure inside your fermenter during pressure fermentations Regulate beer flow during pressurized transfers from fermenter to keg Built-in pressure gauge for easy reference when adjusting the spunding valve Pressure gauge is interchangeable—swap to different pressure ranges that better suit your application Diaphragm spunding valves offer higher accuracy compared to spring & poppet spunding valves Comes complete with ball lock QD, Duotight adapter, and rigid joiner With this complete kit you'll be ready to use the BlowTie 2 Spunding Valve right out of the box. The BlowTie is used to release excess pressure on a pressurized fermenter or from a receiving keg during pressure transfers. This diaphragm spunding valve is much more accurate than the spring and poppet style, and works much better at lower pressures. This version of the Spunding Valve Kit includes the CM Becker Ball Lock QD, often considered the finest quality in plastic ball lock quick disconnects, and an 8 mm Duotight Flare Adapter for connecting to the BlowTie. The BlowTie 2 can also be upgraded with a Digital Mini Pressure Gauge. Pressure Fermentation Pressure fermentation is becoming more and more popular at the homebrew level, but in order to do it safely and accurately, you need a way to release excess pressure. You'll pressurize your vessel to your desired psi, but once fermentation begins and those hungry, active yeast start creating CO2, the pressure inside the vessel will increase. Attach a spunding valve and set it to your desired pressure, and it will blow off when the pressure gets to high and close up again when it's back to your desired psi. Pressure Transfers Even if you don't have a pressurizable fermenter, you may have done pressure transfers from keg to keg during filtering or after fining. During pressure transfers, it's a good idea to have a bit of head pressure in the receiving keg, especially if you're transferring beer that is already carbonated. Having a spunding valve in place will allow you to consistently control the head pressure and give you more consistent results, without losing carbonation in the process. Diaphragm vs. Poppet With the poppet style spunding valve, a spring pushes against a poppet to keep the valve closed. When the poppet lifts up to open, the surface area the gas pushes against becomes larger, and the spring has to work harder to push the poppet down and reseal the valve. This can lead to more gas being released than intended, and the remaining pressure in your vessel may be at a lower psi than your spunding valve’s set psi. Instead of a poppet, the spring inside the BlowTie pushes against a diaphragm, which has an immensely larger surface area. This means the surface area that the gas pushes against while the diaphragm is closed is significantly closer to the surface area it pushes against when the diaphragm is open. This leads to higher accuracy, and the remaining pressure after excess gas is released will be much closer to your set blow off pressure. Kit Includes: BlowTie 2 w/ Integrated Pressure Gauge (0-15 psi) CM Becker Gray Ball Lock Disconnect Duotight Flare Fitting 8 mm OD Rigid Plastic Joiner

Transfer wine out of a barrel using inert gas to reduce oxidization with our Gas Transfer Tool. After using most all similar tools on themarket, we took what we liked and disliked and made our own. Obviously we love the price!... but perhaps more impressive is the polished finish and the excellent quality welds. We sell it without a sight-gauge welded in or attached. We found it easier to clean without a welded in place sight-gauge. We also found that most wineries already had other sight-gauges in the winery and did not need it included. Of course it is available as an option, (sight-gauge H664, clamp H652, gasket, h656.) Replacement gaskets and parts in stock and available.

The new grain basket and mash plate design means that there is no need for overflow pipework or a top plate, allowing for a hassle-free brew day. Same Great Features: Benefits of Electric Heating The Grainfather is electrically powered and designed to be used indoors. No need for burners, or hot plates, just plug in and go! It is fitted with a controlled heating element so that the correct power can be used depending on what stage of the brewing process you are at. A gentler heat is used at certain stages for accurate temperature control and to minimize the risk of scorching and after the mash it can also ramp up the heat quickly for when more vigorous heating is required. Heating from mash to boil takes as little as 20 minutes. Wireless Control for Heat, Power, and Pumping Use the Grainfather G30³ Control Box in conjunction with the Connect App and Grainfather Brewing Community for the ultimate brewing experience. Create your recipes on the Grainfather Brewing Community and then sync these recipes with the Connect app. The control box has Bluetooth connection to your mobile device so it can be controlled remotely. This allows you to multitask or simply relax while brewing and then be alerted when to return to your next step. Features: PID algorithm works in conjunction with a TRIAC for more stable heating and so you can control power output Programmable step mashing Delayed heating - fill your Grainfather with water the night before and wake up to your water at strike temperature ready for brewing straight away Change between Celsius and Fahrenheit easily Waterproof graphic display Use in manual mode or with app Grainfather App: Ability to import recipes (Beer XML files) - NOTE: iOS9 and higher Set your own boil temperature (for different altitudes) Change between Celsius and Fahrenheit easily Grainfather calculators provided in app Create recipes on the Grainfather Brewing Community and then sync these with the Connect App to brew Powerful Magnetic Drive Pump A 6 Watt, 1,800 RPM magnetic powered pump has been fitted to recirculate the wort through the grain bed for maximum brewing efficiencies. This can also be used during the cooling stage to pump hot wort through the optional Counter Flow Wort Chiller. The pump also makes the cleaning process quick and easy by pumping the cleaning detergent through all the pipe work. The magnetic drive pump has been selected after rigorous testing of multiple pump styles to ensure it meets the tough demands required of continuous brewing. The pump is concealed by a stainless pump cover, which is easy to pop open, giving you direct access. A pump filter is fitted inside the Grainfather to prevent hops and stray grain from entering the pump or pipework, keeping the wort clear while also preventing any blockages. Specifications: 304 Grade stainless steel body 110 - 120V 8 Gal Capacity Expandable grain basket to suit grain bills up to 20 lb A robust magnetic drive pump (6 watt, 1800 RPM) Tempered glass lid for maximum durability, heating efficiencies and visibility during your brew day

Additional notes from MoreBeer! as we really love this hop!
For many years Sabro™ brand HBC 438 has been unofficially referred to as Ron Mexico due to its native US neomexicanus hop heritage, and was once one of the more difficult hops to get your hands on. It developed such a huge cult following in the brewing community that you can trace the recent boom in available neomexicanus hop varieties back to HBC 438. Sabro is notable for its complexity of fruity and citrus flavors. It imparts distinct tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, and stone fruit aromas, with hints of cedar, mint, and cream. Sabro’s pedigree is the result of a unique cross pollination of a female neomexicanus hop. With a robust brewing performance, Sabro proves to be a strongly expressive hop that translates its flavor incredibly well into beer.
Vinnie of Russian River Brewing once used this hop in an experimental beer brewed for the National Homebrewers Conference, which was an absolute hit. We recently toured Russian River's new Windsor brewery with Vinnie, and he still raves about this hop and will happily talk about the origin of the Ron Mexico alias with a Cheshire grin on his face. We think you'll absolutely love this hop for brewing juicy, tropical pale ales and IPAs!

Cryo Hop® Hop Pellets
Higher AA and nearly twice the resin content of traditional T-90 hop pellets
Increase yield by reducing vegetal matter in your brewhouse and fermenter
Cryo Hops® provide brewers with the ability to get gigantic hop character while reducing astringent and unpleasant vegetal flavors. With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer!
Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor. It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil.
Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material.
Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier.
Typical Hop Statistics:
Alpha Acids: 18.0 – 22.0%
Beta Acids: 10.0 – 14.0%
Total Oil: 1.0 – 5.0%

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends!
A smooth, copper lager that strikes the perfect balance between a toasty sweet malt body and the noble overtures of the hops
Includes Saaz and Northern Brewer hops
Estimated ABV: 5%
Estimated IBUs: 32-36
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
We have been a fan of John Palmer ever since his book, "How to Brew" hit our shelves way back when. After meeting him at a few gatherings here and there, and after recommending his book hands down over any other, we decided to try and add John to our Signature Series line-up. When he agreed, we knew we would get something special from him, and he did not disappoint. John describes his kit as: "a smooth, copper lager that strikes the perfect balance between a toasty sweet malt body and the noble overtures of the hops. This interpretation of the Vienna style has more hop flavor dancing around the edges than the current BJCP guidelines specify, but the hop profile really complements the rich malt palate for a lively complexity that you don't get from the hoppier Bohemian Pilsener or maltier Oktoberfest styles, and is richer and smoother than Dortmunder Export." This beer will not dissapoint! Thanks, John, for the kit, the book, and the advice! John recommends White Labs WLP833 for a dried beer, and WLP820 for a maltier version.

Smooth, ribless design prevents yeast and bacteria buildup, making sanitation a breeze
Punted bottom and conical top promote sediment collection and reduce oxidation during storage
Extra-wide 4" mouth opening simplifies filling, additions, and cleaning
Constructed from heavy-duty, virgin PET plastic without plasticizers
Made with food-grade and BPA-free materials
The Ported Fermonster is a brand new fermenter designed specifically for fermentation. MoreBeer! gave product feedback for over 2 years of development and we think they nailed the design. The large lid allows for easy filling and makes hop or oak additions a breeze. The smooth sides are fantastic for sanitization - no ribs or texture to collect yeast or bacteria. The 6 gallon size is great for most fermentations, and the larger 7 gallon is available for even bigger beers. The punted bottom allows sediment to collect to the sides so that you can siphon liquid from the center. Because they are made from virgin PET plastic they nearly unbreakable and a lot safer than similar glass carboys. Also notice the conical top which reduces surface area if you plan to store beer or wine long term.
These ported versions come with our plastic spigot (FE347), allowing for easy racking and sampling!
Made from heavy PET plastic, the same material used in 2 L soda bottles, which is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration. Due to the thickness of the material and the overall geometry the Fermonster does not require ribs or dimples for stability. That results in a super smooth interior surface that reduces yeast and sediment buildup making it the easiest to clean, most sanitary PET carboy on the market. The huge 4" opening makes filling a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as wiping down the inside. Fermonsters are easily moved by hand or consider using our Carboy Carrier for even greater ease of use.
These fermentors are completely air-tight and the lids sealed tight with an O-Ring. Additional O-Rings and Lids both with and without holes are available for purchase, see our You Might Also Need items below.
Features:
4" wide mouth carboy - easy to clean!
Ported version inlcudes spigot for easy racking
