  • Chugger T.C. Pump - High Temperature Stainless Steel - X-Dry - Inline Chugger T.C. Pump - High Temperature Stainless Steel - X-Dry - Inline

X-Dry Series Tri-Clamp Chugger Pump (Inline) - Stainless Steel

    1 review

Introducing the X-Dry Series Chugger Pumps! These pumps offer the same great quality we've come to expect from Chugger, but now feature Run-Dry Protection. Although the Chugger still needs to be primed before each use, the X-Dry Series offers a new level of protection from damage due to cavitation. The Chugger lineup of pumps represents a great value for an even better price. These pumps are workhorses in the brewery. Featuring a robust flow rate of 7 gpm, and a magnetic drive designed to handle back-pressure, these pumps are a great addition to any brewing setup! The Stainless Steel Chugger showcases their molded Stainless Steel Pump Head. This stainless pump is a steal for the price, and we've been more than happy with the quality! Use this to ease transfers between kettles, cool wort via a counterflow chiller, or recirculate icewater for quicker chilling! The Chugger pump model has 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet, allowing easy integration with your T.C. kettles or fermenter! We recommend setting these pumps up with a butterfly valve on the outflow side, this way you can throttle down the outgoing flow rate, allowing for more efficient sparges or cooling! The pump head can also be rotated 360° (in 90° intervals) allowing for even more customization! Features: Run Dry Carbon Bearing Stainless Steel Inline Pump Head Food Grade up to 250° F 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet High Flow rate of 7 gpm Max Head 18.6 ft 115v 55" cord and plug attached 50/60 Hz, 1.4 amp 1/20 HP, 3500 RPM Note: When using silicone tubing, we recommend using a slighlty larger barb than the I.D. of the tubing. This is because silicone tubing tends to have greater pliability than most tubing. For example, when using 1/2" silicone tubing, we recommend our 5/8" barb (H620), to help ensure a better seal!

  • Delvozyme (Lysozyme) - PLACEHOLDER Delvozyme (Lysozyme) - PLACEHOLDER

    Delvozyme® (Lysozyme)

    1 review

Wine Making Use Delvozyme (Lysozyme, Lysovin) for controlling lactic acid bacteria growth in your wine. Isolated from egg whites, this enzyme will degrade the cell wall of gram positive bacteria, but will not affect yeast or gram negative bacteria such as Acetobacter. Delvozyme can be used for both Red and White Wine Malo Fermentation. Dosage: To Delay Malolactic Fermentation: Red Wine - add to grapes at 100 - 200 ppm, or 0.38 - 0.76 grams per gallon. White Wine - Add to must at 200 - 300 ppm, or 0.76 - 1.14 grams per gallon. To Block Malolactic Fermentation: White Wine - Add to must or wine at 300 - 500 ppm, or 1.14 - 1.90 grams per gallon. Stabilizing wine after MLF is complete: Add to barrel during storage at 250 - 500 ppm, or 0.95 - 1.90 grams per gallon. When blending partial and complete MLF wines: Add immeditatley after blending at 300 - 500 ppm, or 1.14 - 1.90 grams per gallon, to reduce the risk of further malolactic fermentation (MLF). Within several days any lactic should expire. For sluggish or stuck yeast fermentation: Red Wine - Add at 150 - 400 ppm, or 0.57 - 1.52 grams per gallon. White Wine - add at 300 - 500 ppm, or 1.14 - 1.90 grams per gallon. Directions for use: You can make a 10% solution of Delvozyme in water (100 grams per liter of water). However we find the easiest method is to add the desired dry weight of Lysovin in 5x its weight of warm(tepid) water. Mix for one minute, allow this mixture to stand for 45 minutes and add to must, juice or wine while mixing well. Allow 24 - 48 hours for reaction to complete. **Note: 3tsp Delvozyme = 5g Beer Making Delvozyme can be used in beer making as well. Use either in the starter (recommended if you make starters) or when pitching (adding) the yeast to the wort, do not use over 140 F. Recommended dosages is 1 tsp per 5 gallons of wort. According to studies it has no effect on flavor or clarity. Storage: Should be stored at room temperatures in a dry environment, can be stored up to 5 years.

  • Kit (Extract) - The Frenzy's Left Coast Pale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - The Frenzy's Left Coast Pale - PLACEHOLDER

Left Coast Pale Ale by Phil Montalbano | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    4 reviews

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Enjoy the citrus/orange hop character Amarillo® hops impart on to this thirst-quenching Pale Ale Includes 100% Amarillo® hops Estimated ABV: 5.3% Estimated IBUs: 50-55 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Phil created this recipe in an effort to stop his long, slow spiral into fruity, phenolic, sour beers that began to populate his fermenters and kegs back in 1998. Honestly, Phil seriously contemplated throwing gummy bears into his brew and realized it was time to step back, look around, sober up, and grab a classic West Coast pale ale. This beer is dominated by the wonderful Amarillo® hop that is known for having a citrus/orange flavor. The Left Coast Pale has been brewed many times over as a house favorite during the Fermentation Frenzy shop era (Los Altos, CA circa 1997-2007). Try it, you'll like it. And, unfortunately, so will your friends. Phil recommends for an even more pronounced hop nose and flavor you add an additional 1oz of Amarillo® hops to the fermenter as a dry hop addition (not included with kit). Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.050-55 SRM (Color Range): 12 IBUs: 50-55 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.0-5.5%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.   Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.   Amarillo® is a trademark owned by Virgil Gamache Farms, Inc.

  • LinkTech - High Temp Plastic Male Quick Disconnect (QD) - 1/2 in MPT w/ Shutoff Valve

LinkTech High Temp Plastic Male Quick Disconnect (QD) | 1/2" MPT W/ Shutoff Valve

    1 review

The LinkTech 60PS Series is a lineup of premium plastic Quick Disconnects.  These High Quality QDs are made from medical grade polypropylene, a high-strength plastic that is temperature tolerant 160° (Max!), and can handle pressure ranging from a vacuum to 60 psi. All of the 60PS Series will interconnect, and these units will also work seamlessly (and leaklessly!) with CPC Quick Disconnects of the same internal 3/8” flow path.  O-rings are a EPDM Rubber, and internal valve springs are constructed from 316 Stainless steel. This is a Male Plug, which can connect to any H501 Series Female Socket.  It has 1/2" Male NPT threading for use with any products equipped with 1/2" Female NPT.  This QD is equipped with a shutoff valve.   When not connected to another QD, this will not allow any flow.  While not quite as bulletproof as our Stainless Steel Quick Disconnects, this lineup does offer a few advantages.  These can be set up with Shutoffs, which will prevent flow when disconnected, and can be incredibly useful on Pump or Glycol systems.  The pricing of these products is more economical, yet the plastic is still medical grade.  All in all, these are a premium lineup of quick disconnects with great features and lots of options. Features: LinkTech brand 60PS Series Equipped with Shutoff Valve Connections: Male Plug Quick Disconnect 1/2" MPT Medical Grade Materials: Body: High-Strength Polypropylene Spring: 316 Stainless Steel O-Ring: EPDM Operating Pressure: Vacuum to 60 PSI Temperature Tolerance: -40 to 280°F (-40 to 138°C) 3/8" Flow Path Interchangeable with CPC - Colder HFC35 Series

White Labs Yeast | WLP644 Saccharomyces "Bruxellensis" Trois | Beer Yeast | PurePitch® Next Generation | Industry Leading Viability | 150 Billion Cells

WLP64 has been traditionally used for wild yeast fermentations but grown in popularity for styles like American IPA, American pale and blonde ales Produces a slightly tart beer with delicate mango and pineapple characteristics PurePitch® Next Generation offers a precise cell count across all strains so you can calculate the exact pitch rate you need for every batch Scan the barcode on the back of the package and enter your wort stats into the Pitch Rate Calculator White Labs Yeast has been producing high-quality brewer's yeast since 1995 and continues to raise the bar in the art of fermentation Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch! Saccharomyces "Bruxellensis" Trois is used traditionally for wild yeast-like fermentations. It produces a slightly tart beer with delicate characteristics of mango and pineapple. Some homebrewers describe the flavors as fruity/candy, with a hint of funk. This yeast provides a welcome change to your arsenal of brewing recipes. You can also use it to produce effervescence when bottle-conditioning. PurePitch® Next Generation—now with more yeast, get a foolproof fermentation without a starter! Just twist the cap & pitch! Why PurePitch Next Gen versus other options? Typically yeast manufacturers use a range for how many yeast cells are going into each package. This can vary widely, especially from strain to strain. Next Gen offers a far more precise cell count across all strains allowing you to use the Whitelabs exclusive pitch calculator. Simply scan the barcode on the back of each package to be taken to their online calculator. Enter the volume, strength, and pitching temperature of the wort you are fermenting and the calculator tells you exactly how much yeast to pitch. You will be fermenting like a professional brewer, using the same concentration of yeast every time and enjoying more consistent results. Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch. Whitelabs has also increased the viability (the number of living cells in the package) over the shelf life of the yeast. Next Gen strains are grown in their unique, small-batch reactors to assure freshness and then packaged in a special film that allows for off-gassing, assuring that their viability is absolutely industry leading. Attenuation: 70-85% Flocculation: Low Alcohol Tolerance: 10-15% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 70-85°F Cell Count: 150 Billion For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast. Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

  • Kit (Extract) - K-POP Fruited Kettle Sour - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - K-POP Fruited Kettle Sour - PLACEHOLDER

K-POP Kettle Sour | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

This recipe makes a delicious golden sour that is enjoyable on its own or easily customized with your own fruiting  Includes a single addition of Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 5.3% Estimated IBUs: 7 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Thick fog rolls over a dimly lit stage as the volume from an array of loudspeakers steadily rises. You feel the sonic waves emanating from the sound system pass through you, standing up the hair on the back of your neck. Just as the anticipation becomes too much to bear, the darkness is pierced by a spectrum of beam lights and the bass drops. Your eyes squeeze shut and you cover your ears in a trifling attempt to block out the deafening shrieks of 50,000 rabid fans. But it’s no use. Finally, you unclench your eyes and realize that you're not standing in a sea of concert-goers. And it's you that's cheering at the top of your lungs after taking your first sip of K-POP Kettle Sour. If you've never brewed a kettle sour before, this is the perfect introductory kit. The process requires some extra equipment and steps compared to a normal brew day, but it's worth it! The end result will be a refreshingly light and easy-drinking beer with a delightful tartness that finishes clean. Check out the recipe sheet below and review the instructions before purchasing, and make sure to add both a yeast pitch and a lactobacillus pitch to your order. This recipe makes a delicious golden sour that is enjoyable without further alteration, but we highly recommend adding dry hops or fruit to make it your own. You can purchase puree from the add-on options above or you can use your own fresh or frozen fruit. We recommend 1 lb of whole fruit per gallon or 1-2 packages of puree for a 5-gallon batch. Add your chosen fruit when fermentation is complete and allow 5 to 7 days of contact time before packaging. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.048-53 SRM (Color Range): 3-4 IBUs: 7 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.3% Recommended Equipment: pH meter Electric heating wrap CO2 tank Plastic wrap Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar.

  • Low stock! Banjo Burner Banjo Burner

Banjo Burner - High Pressure Propane

    9 reviews

This cast iron wide-profile banjo burner is strong and efficient, topping our ratings in getting wort to a quick boil, while using the same amount or less of propane. Adjusted for efficiency this banjo burner produces around 70,000 BTU/hr, and in full, this banjo burner mode produces 100,000 btu. Banjo burners can often times have issues when using with low flame output. We sourced and tested a number of different units, before settling on this one, which performs great at low output. Uses 3/8" male flare fitting (included). Comes with steel orifice plate for regulating airflow The burner has a 9 7/8" diameter and is 14 3/4" long This banjo burner requires a propane regulator to function properly. We recommend a Wind Guard with these units if brewing outdoors. If using indoors, you must have proper ventilation in the form of an overhead cooking hood.

American Honey Pale Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    14 reviews

This ale will deliver a smooth blend of Cascade floral character and biterness, tempered by a slight sweetness from the honey Includes 100% Cascade hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 40 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer In 2011, the White House home brewed beer for the first time in, well, perhaps centuries! We were super were excited when a MoreBeer! customer first submitted his freedom of information act request for the White House homebrew recipes. We were a little surprised, and we'll say it - let down - when we saw the actual recipes. One MoreBeer! staffer blurted out "Whoa...this seems like beer that Prince Harry should be brewing." English malt extract, English hops, and even an English yeast strain were used; so the only thing truly American was the honey! It seems that we were not the only beer lovers to pick up on this. So while we really, really love English beers as much as the next homebrewer, we think the White House Brewmasters should be using fresh ingredients from well...America. Since we were tweaking the recipe towards this side of the pond, we decided we could also help educate the White House staff on their yeast selection. Yes dry yeast has gotten better but since this is the White House and all, we think they can spring for liquid yeast...and is there any better choice for this recipe than Wyeast 1056 AMERICAN Ale or White Labs 001 California Ale?? Not really. In fact, just queue up the star spangled banner, turn on the football game, and throw some hot dogs on the grill because we are starting to feel pretty patriotic here. So while we send this kit along with our friendly suggestions back to the White House, YOU can make the exact same beer at home. That way if you are in a diner somewhere on the campaign trail and the president pulls up you can whip out a bottle of the 'Honey Pale the White House Should Be Making' or the 'Honey Porter the White House Should Be Making' and enlighten the Top Dog, homebrewer style. This American Honey Pale Ale uses all American ingredients, including: White Wheat, Crystal 15L, and Ultralight Malt Extract Cascade hops California Wildflower Honey Truly a classic American Pale Ale recipe!  This ale will deliver a smooth blend of Cascade floral character and biterness, tempered by a slight sweetness from the honey.  The California Wildflower Honey delivers just enough residual sweetness to result in an amazingly balanced, hoppily delicious pale ale.

CellarScience® FRESH Dry Wine Yeast | Premium Wine Yeast

Producer of fresh fruit aromas/flavors Best choice for fruit forward wines Best choice for ciders Best choice for Roses Ability for ferment cooler Strong fermenter FRESH—well the name says it all. The perfect choice for fermenting fruit forward whites, roses, ciders, and meads. Because FRESH is a Bayanus strain it is able to ferment at lower temperatures, a nice option for producing cleaner more focused fruit flavors. Emphasizes stone fruit flavors. We almost named it Beauty and the Beast because once it starts fermenting it doesn't stop. Super easy to ferment with lower nutrient needs and a a very high alochol tolerance up to 16%. Many cider producers like this yeast for its ability to add those fresh and fruity flavors. Although easy to ferment, we still recommend our CellarScience nutrient regimen of Fermstart, FermFed DAP Free, and FermFed to increase fruit and floral flavors, while avoiding H2S production that can mask fruit. Start Time: Fast Alcohol tolerance: 16% Nitrogen demand: low YAN Requirement @ 23 Brix: 225 ppm Production of volatile acidity: Very Low Production of SO2: Low Cap/Foaming: Very low Ease to Ferment with MLF: Average Malic Consumption: High Yeast Type: Bayanus Optimal Fermentation Temp: 50–80°F Proper yeast hydration helps ensure a healthy fermentation. For every gram of yeast, mix .25 g of FermStart yeast nutrient with 25 ml of sterilized tap water between 104–106°F/40–41°C. When water reaches 104°F/40°C, sprinkle yeast into water and stir gently. Allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 15 minutes and then stir again. For every gram of yeast used add 25 ml of clean must to the yeast slurry and let stand 15–20 minutes. If necessary, use additional must to adjust yeast slurry to within 18°F of must temp before pitching. For a complete nutrient schedule sufficient for most fermentations, add 1.5 g of FermFed DAP Free per gallon of must at the first sign of fermentation and 1 g of FermFed per gallon of must after 1/3 sugar depletion. • Ss Brewtech - Motorized Grain Mill Ss Brewtech - Motorized Grain Mill

    Ss Brewtech Grain Mill

    7 reviews

The Ss Grain Mill sports an all-in-one design, featuring a hi-torque DC motor combined with a leveraged gear reduction system that drives a series of billet aluminum pulleys and high inertia rollers that make easy work of the toughest wheat and rye malts — Capable of up to 350 lb/h  Differential Speed Rollers Dating back to the early days of craft brewing, feed mills were often repurposed in breweries due to the lack of availability of milling equipment designed specifically for processing malt in brewing applications.  Conversely, in a home brew settling, corona mills, and other repurposed mill designs intentioned for processing raw grain in a home kitchen were adopted for their ease and accessibility.   Naturally, if you're feeding livestock or making grits, you typically want to pulverize the grain.  However, if you're brewing beer it’s preferable to crack the endosperm in several places and then sheer off the husk, keeping it mostly intact.  This shearing and crushing action maximizes both efficiency and lautering performance, reducing or eliminating the need for rice hulls or other lautering aids. The two rollers inside the Ss Grain Mill are both driven by the onboard motor, but designed to rotate at different speeds. This key feature is at the heart of our purpose built mill designed for home and pro brewing.   Machined Fluted Stainless Steel Rollers Other mills that are designed to pulverize grain, often rely on hardened steel knurled rollers to extend their usable life.  The shearing action of the Ss Grain Mill places less stress on the roller to effectively process the grain. We settled on the more professional approach of fluting the rollers, which enhances the ability for the two rollers to engage the malt and effectively shear the husk from the endosperm.  It was also important to us that this mill be functional in either a home or pro-environment, so we decided to cast the rollers in solid 304 stainless steel, with each roller weighing a robust 7.5 lbs.   Furthermore, the profile of the rollers has been completely rethought.  Most small mills rely on a wide processing envelope and a small, 1.5-2” diameter roller.  We have emulated the design of large production mills, and increased the diameter of the roller to 4”, and narrowed the processing envelope.  This design increases the rotating mass, and stores rotational energy, which ultimately helps to smooth abrupt changes in rotational speed.  Furthermore, the entrance angle is less aggressive with a larger roller, resulting in additional mechanical advantage.   Precision Gap Adjustment Eleven points of adjustment ranging from 0.5mm to 2.0mm open up a wide range of malt products. Gap adjustments are tool-less and can be made without any disassembly, or complicated procedures.   Extruded Aluminum Chassis The two piece extruded 6061 aluminum chassis promotes structural rigidity resulting in a more precise degree of roller alignment.  This is important to retaining consistent roller gap settings from batch-to-batch. Furthermore, the two-piece construction isolates the motor and rollers in separate chambers, preventing the motor and drivetrain from accumulating dust and debris. All rotational pulleys, and rollers have their own dedicated fully sealed ball bearings for low drag and long life.   25 lb. Hopper Capacity  The Ss Mill will include a custom tooled 4mm thick ABS hopper that is both structurally strong and lightweight. Designed to hold up to 25 lbs. of grain at a time, the Ss Grain Mill has been clocked in prototype testing at processing roughly 350 lbs. per hour of barley malt.  Which is roughly a 50 lb. sack every 8 mins, making it perfect for batch sizes from 5 gallons to 5 BBLs.   Features: All-In-One Design Differential Speed Rollers Machined Fluted Stainless Steel Rollers Precision Gap Adjustment Extruded Aluminum Chassis Specs: 350 lb/h 25 lb Hopper 0.5 - 2.0mm Gap Range 18" Width x 19.5" Height x 9" Depth Plugs into standard 110 volt wall socket. Please note: This mill is designed for use with brewing grains only. It will not work for cracking whole kernel corn.

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Lightly hopped with loads of honey to penetrate through the malty flavor profile Includes 100% Cascade hops Estimated ABV: 4.7% Estimated IBUs: 13-17 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer We would not have put 3lbs of honey with 7 lbs of malt in a pale ale, but Jim had no fear and did just that. The result - a really nice mix of malt and honey flavors. There is enough honey to make it through into the flavor. Just a little Cascade hops in the beginning and finish keep the flavor emphasis on the honey. He suggests WLP002 because it is less attenuative and leaves more malt behind. Puttin' on the Spritz! There's a new style on the scene that has everyone tapping their toes, and we're excited to bring you a beer from the man that started the tune. In our latest addition to the BrewMaster Series lineup we have one of the original Brut IPA's - Puttin' on the Spritz! This hybrid IPA is the brainchild of Kim Sturdavant of Social Kitchen & Brewery in San Francisco, California. We first met Kim on our journey to brew with and understand the amyglucosidase enzyme (the signature ingredient responsible for a Brut's dry character). Kim, being the stand-up fella that he is, was kind enough to not only share his knowledge of the AMG enzyme, but also the very recipe that shook up the brew scene and inspired countless iterations of the style. Despite its dry character, Puttin' on the Spritz is sneaky drinkable with a thirst-quenching profile. El Dorado and Mosaic® hops impart tart citrus and tropical fruit notes, while a grain bill primarily featuring pilsner malt and flaked corn makes for an ultra-clean finish with almost no caramel or overt malty flavors. Crisp, dry, clean, crushable. Curious about Brut IPA's? Check out There and Back Again, A Brut IPA Tale! In this article, our own Vito Delucchi takes us along on his quest to unlock the mysteries of the amyloglucosidase enzyme and discover the best methods for brewing Brut IPA's. This information is essential knowledge for doing SO2 additions, cold stabilization, acid additions, etc on wines that have been innoculated with an ML strain or allowed to undergo natural malolactic fermentation. You always want to know if ML has completed before bottling because if a wine is bottled with an incomplete Malolactic Fermentation it runs a high risk of completing it in the bottle which will ruin the wine. Kiwi Kiss is our ode to the many delicious hop varietals that hail from New Zealand. Hops were first planted on the north and south islands by British settlers in the mid-1800s, but it wasn't until the early 21st-century that NZ-grown hops really exploded in popularity. As beer drinkers began flocking to more tropical, citrus-forward interpretations of IPA, brewers began to recognize the potential for the hops exporting from kiwi country. Today, New Zealand hops are widely sought after for their highly aromatic quality and delicious array of fresh flavors. Kiwi Kiss is a clean, lightly-colored, Hazy IPA with a moderate alcohol level. Wai-iti, Wakatu, and Waimea make multiple appearances throughout the hop bill, with Motueka and Nelson added during the double dry hopping. • Kit (All Grain) - Firestone Walker Hopnosis Cold IPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (All Grain) - Firestone Walker Hopnosis Cold IPA - PLACEHOLDER

Firestone Walker Brewing Company Hopnosis Cold IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

    1 review

This Brewmaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with Firestone Walker Brewing Company One of the newest takes on the IPA style—Cold IPAs are highly hopped but fermented cold with a lager strain Includes Simcoe®, Callista, Talus®, Mosaic Cryo®, El Dorado, Idaho #7, Cashmere, Nelson, and Riwaka™ hops Estimated ABV: 6.7% Estimated IBUs: 50 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A new way to IPA! Firestone Walker's Hopnosis IPA represents one of the tastiest examples of a new beer style that is quickly gaining ground—Cold IPA. These beers feature the massive hopping schedules you'd expect from an IPA but are then fermented cold with a lager strain. This gives the beer a clean, crisp and crushable profile while allowing the hops to be on full display.  From the top of the boil to the final post fermentation dry hop, you'll find a long list of delicious hop varieties from the U.S. and New Zealand. One of the standouts is Mosaic® Cryo Hops® which are used as the biotransformation dry hop addition. Prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by Hopnosis IPA's explosion of tropical fruit flavors including mango, passionfruit, white grape, and lychee. What Firestone Walker Has to Say About Hopnosis: In early 2022, we launched Hopnosis as our next-generation West Coast-style IPA. Now the time has come to embrace an even more accurate stylistic moniker for Hopnosis: Cold IPA. While IPAs are typically fermented with ale yeasts, cold IPAs like Hopnosis are fermented with lager yeasts. Remember that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, so fermenting an IPA with lager yeasts signifies a break with tradition. “When you use a lager yeast to ferment an IPA, you get a cleaner and less ester-driven aroma profile,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The colder fermentation also creates a lighter backbone that helps accentuate the bright, tropical hops we’re using. So while Hopnosis offers a lot of things you love in a straight-ahead West Coast IPA, the lager yeast is what pushes it toward the Cold IPA style.” As a result, Hopnosis rings all the bells of a Cold IPA: crisp and crushable, with a clean hop profile. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.059-64 SRM (Color Range): 4-5 IBUs: 50 Estimated Original Gravity: 6.7% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. • Carboy Bag (6.5 Gallon)

    Carboy Carrier - 6.5 gal.

    10 reviews

Use this specially made carboy bag to protect yourself and your beer! Carboys can be slippery, especially when wet. Our strong canvas bag allows you to more safely carry a carboy. If it is accidentally dropped the canvas will help contain the broken glass and reduce personal injury. Your beer also benefits as it is protected from light. UV Light interacts with compounds in hops to create skunky off flavor (editor note... I may not be a smart man but I do know skunky flavors in beer aren't good). These are made in the USA from heavy black canvas with strong nylon webbing that is stitched (very strong) to support the carboy when lifting. In the summer, you can help reduce high fermentation temps by placing frozen ice packs in between the canvas and the carboy.

  • Kit (Extract) - Firestone Walker's Double Barrel Ale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Firestone Walker's Double Barrel Ale - PLACEHOLDER

Firestone Walker Brewing Company Double Barrel Ale® | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    13 reviews

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Firestone Walker Brewing Company A smooth amber ale with subtle oak notes blending perfectly with wonderful malt character Includes Willamette and Kent Goldings hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 32-34 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, California. It seems to some that Matt has almost been bred to brew beer. After getting a degree in chemistry in 1993, Matt went to work in Michigan doing research and development on hops for the brewing industry. In 1995, Matt went to the famous Seibel Institute of Brewing Technology to further his education. After brewing for Goose Island in Chicago and then moving to California to work for SLO Brewing, Matt was appointed Small Brewmaster of the Year in 2001. Later that year, he was asked to join the crew at Firestone Walker. Two years later Matt was dubbed Mid-Sized Brewer of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest AND at the World Cup of Beer, for a total of 12 medals in just three years! Since then, Firestone Walker has been gaining a large following in California due in part to it's flagship beer, Double Barrel Ale, which is produced in a Burton Union system that has the beer fermenting in barrels. Firestone Walker Brewing Company is the only brewery in the U.S. to ferment in barrels and one of only two in the world. In addition to the line-up at Firestone Walker, Matt also brews the Nectar Ales line of beers, as well as a few of the Trader Joe's house brands. Learn more at www.firestonebeer.com Don't let the name fool you, this beer is easy on the oak, having been created so that all ingredients blend perfectly with one another, even the oak. In fact, the oak really takes a back seat to the wonderful malt characteristics that this beer presents, which may be hard to imagine once you realize there are 2 ounces of oak in this one! American base malt, a little Munich, some crystal, and that's it - simple, yet flavorful. Just how we like it. One can easily spend all night drinking this smooth amber ale ... in fact, many of us at MoreBeer! have done just that! The low bitterness ties everything together and makes you remember just how much of a craft brewing beer really is. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.049-52 SRM (Color Range): 14 IBUs: 32-34 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar.

FerMonster 3 Gallon Ported Carboy (Spigot Not Included)

    6 reviews

Smooth, ribless design prevents yeast and bacteria buildup, making sanitation a breeze Punted bottom and conical top promote sediment collection and reduce oxidation during storage Extra-wide 4" mouth opening simplifies filling, additions, and cleaning Constructed from heavy-duty, virgin PET plastic without plasticizers Made with food-grade and BPA-free materials The Fermonster is a brand new fermenter designed specifically for fermentation. MoreBeer! gave product feedback for over 2 years of development and we think they nailed the design. The large lid allows for easy filling and makes hop or oak additions a breeze. The smooth sides are fantastic for sanitization - no ribs or texture to collect yeast or bacteria. The punted bottom allows sediment to collect to the sides so that you can siphon liquid from the center. Because they are made from virgin PET plastic they nearly unbreakable and a lot safer than similar glass carboys. Also notice the conical top which reduces surface area if you plan to store beer or wine long term. These fermenters are ported but do not come with a spigot. FE347 is the plastic spigot we recommend along with this fermenter. Made from heavy PET plastic, the same material used in 2 L soda bottles, which is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration. Due to the thickness of the material and the overall geometry the Fermonster does not require ribs or dimples for stability. That results in a super smooth interior surface that reduces yeast and sediment buildup making it the easiest to clean, most sanitary PET carboy on the market. The huge 4" opening makes filling a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as wiping down the inside. These fermentors are completely air-tight and the lids sealed tight with an O-Ring. Additional O-Rings and Lids both with and without holes are available for purchase, see our You Might Also Need items below. Features: 4" inner diameter wide mouth carboy - easy to clean! Food grade PET plastic construction is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration No hard to clean dimples or ribs Punted bottom O-Ring and Lid with one hole is included (Fits #10 Stopper) Additional O-Rings and Lids available Weight: 1.5 lbs Temperature Limit: 140° F Height: 14.6 inches Diameter: 9 inches Completely taste and odor free Perfect for Beer, Wine, Cider, Mead, Kombucha or any other fermented beverage! Thick walls for better oxygen barrier. Please note: the pictured #10 Stopper (FE470VS) and three piece airlock (FE370) are not included.

Due to high demand, the 500 g is currently out of stock. Be the first to receive your items by placing a pre-order today. We will automatically ship this to you when we receive more inventory. MAISON is a Belgian yeast strain designed for a wide range of Belgian-style beers including Belgian Blondes, Witbiers, Dubbels, Tripels, and Quads Produces classic fruit esters alongside subtle clove and spice phenolics, achieving the perfect balance of fruit and spice for authentic Belgian character Designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no pre-oxygenation before pitching required Ferment between 64-75°F MAISON is your go-to Belgian yeast strain, crafted for a wide range of Belgian-style beers including Belgian Blondes, Witbiers, Dubbels, Tripels, and Quads. MAISON ferments effectively across a broad temperature range, producing an expressive yet refined balance of esters and phenols typical of classic Belgian fermentations. At higher temperatures (around 75°F / 24°C), expect robust flavor development, featuring moderately sweet malt supported by bright fruit esters such as ethyl hexanoate (pear, apple) and isoamyl acetate (banana). These are complemented by gentle clove-like phenols (4-vinyl guaiacol) and subtle notes of white pepper and coriander seed, creating a complex yet clean Belgian profile. At lower temperatures (around 64°F / 18°C), MAISON presents these same characteristics with greater restraint—producing a more nuanced and elegant fermentation signature. The fruit esters become softer and more floral, while phenolic spice is dialed back, allowing malt sweetness and smoothness to shine through. Flavor Profile: Moderately sweet malt with notes of pear, soft apple, banana, clove, white pepper, and a touch of toasted-bread malt character. Primary Compounds: Balanced production of ethyl hexanoate and isoamyl acetate, with light phenolic expression from 4-vinyl guaiacol for a classic Belgian balance of fruit and spice. Flocculation: Low to Medium Fermentation Range: 64–75°F (18–24°C) Alcohol Tolerance: 12% ABV Apparent Attenuation: ~75–80% Direct Pitch: No rehydration necessary Reliable & Consistent: Every batch undergoes PCR testing for verified strain purity and performance consistency High Cell Count: 15 g per sachet — over 36% more yeast than standard 11 g packs Versatile for All Brewers: Ideal for both homebrewers and professional craft brewers seeking authentic Belgian flavor with modern reliability Dosage: One sachet treats a 5–6 gal (19–23 L) batch. For larger batches, use 2–3 g/gal (0.5–0.8 g/L). We recommend rounding up by one full sachet for consistency. Like all CellarScience yeast strains, MAISON offers professional-grade performance and precision delivering consistent results, expressive flavor, and exceptional value.
