I have owned every version of the Fermzilla and was overjoyed when the tri-clamp version was released. However, the plastic butterfly valve is down right awful. Every batch has weird gross growth occurring inside around the offset lid and valve from all the keg line required to disassemble for cleaning. This elbow is almost the answer and why an elbow? I recover very little yeast with this which something I've accepted and dumping trub is not a smooth process either. This would be better suited as a short straight adapter to go from 3" to 1.5". I rarely use my Fermzillas anymore as I've moved onto SS conical fermenters but I do on occasion have a couple lagers going and use these for a quick batch of my favorite ale.
