Tank Ports

Dosage

Start making great wine at home with a small investment in some quality equipment. This inexpensive starter package includes all the equipment you will need to begin making wine with VineCo's extensive line of concentrate kits.
These kits are designed to make 23 liters of wine, or about 6 gallons. Primary fermentation will take place in the included 7.9 gallon bucket. After the primary fermentation is complete you will transfer the wine into the included 6 gallon carboy leaving behind the sediment from fermentation.
We have included all the necessary cleaning and testing equipment. Also included are corks and a corker for bottling and corking your own wine. You will need to purchase a wine concentrate kit. You will also need to save or buy approximately (30) 750ml wine bottles (2.5 cases).

This Flander's Red ale recipe is deep red in color with a nice malt structure, this beer is based on those from certain regions of Belgium, and have distinct sour overtones to them. This is due to the wild spores that inhabit the air - and some breweries - of the area. While this would normally be a "bad" thing, the infection lends special tart and sour qualities unlike any other beer can. For a more traditional spin on this kit, try aging it on some oak cubes!
We recommend fermenting this Flanders Red Ale with WLP001 California Ale for two weeks. Then add Wyeast 3763 Roeselare Belgian Sour Blend in the secondary fermenter bucket. This kit does require some special instructions, as it is a special beer. Once the gravity hits 1.015 - 1.020, rack the beer into a plastic bucket and pitch the sour blend tube. Age the beer at 65F-70F for 6 months, until the white cap that will form drops. The reason for the plastic bucket aging is so that tiny amounts of oxygen are allowed to be taken in by the plastic and come in contact with the beer. This micro-oxidation adds to the over all flavor of the beer itself.
Reminder: you will need to keep the equipment used to handle the beer after the sour blend is introduced separated from the rest of your brewing equipment, or clean and sanitize very well after use.

Dosage
Add 2.5 mL per 5-gallon batch for a moderate dank impact. Adjust to taste. Add at any point on the cold side in your fermenter, keg, or bottling bucket. Or even add a drop or two to spike your finished beer in the glass.
