CellarScience® VOSS Dry Yeast | Kveik Ale | Premium Beer Yeast
VOSS is a kveik yeast strain that ferments quickly at higher temperatures with superb flocculation A traditional farmhouse yeast from Voss, Norway that produces a clean flavor profile with hints of orange peel & citrus Designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no pre-oxygenation before pitching required Ferment between 68-104°F CellarScience offers high-quality yeast that is easy to use, consistent, and available at a tremendous value Traditional farmhouse yeast from Voss, Norway. This kveik yeast strain ferments quickly at higher temperatures with superb flocculation. Produces a clean flavor profile with hints of orange peel & citrus. Every batch is PCR tested to ensure quality. Dosage: One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly. Direct Pitch or Rehydrate: VOSS yeast is designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no oxygenation required in the initial fermentation. Our aerobic growth process makes this possible by creating dry yeast with high viability and high sterol levels. VOSS yeast is pre-loaded with essential nutrients to ensure a successful, complete fermentation. While not required, some brewers prefer to rehydrate yeast. To hydrate yeast, first, sanitize the yeast brick and scissors. Use 10 grams of sterilized tap water between 85-95°F (29-35°C) mixed with 0.25 grams of FermStart per gram of yeast. Sprinkle yeast on the water. Allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 20 minutes, then swirl. Use small amounts of wort to adjust to within 10°F (6°C) of wort temperature before pitching. Ferment between 68-104°F (20-40°C). Optimum Fermentation Temp: 68-104°F Flocculation: Medium-High Alochol Tolerance: 16% ABV (LalBrew® Voss 12%) Attenuation: 75-80% Similar Strains: WLP520, OYL061 Gluten-free CellarScience Yeast: For years liquid yeast has been sold as the higher quality option but times are changing. Yes, 20 years ago dry yeast was made by bread yeast producers and the quality was not as good as liquid yeast. CellarScience is helping to flip that script with a full lineup of high-quality dry yeasts. Cell count and viability is usually higher than commercial liquid yeast pitches, which vary from pouch to pouch and don't ship well. CellarScience yeast can be pitched directly in most batches of wort, offering significant time savings. Yeast that is quick and easy to use, high quality, and available at a reasonable cost adds up to a tremendous value. Quality yeast that doesn't "break the brink". CellarScience Nutrients: For high gravity ferments consider rehydrating yeast with CellarScience FermStart yeast hydration nutrient. For high gravity or low nutrient wort, feed your fermentation with CellarScience FermFed DAP Free complex yeast nutrient mix.

For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

KOMOS® Kegerator | Digital Thermostat | Casters | Regulator | Fits 1 Half Barrel Keg or 4 Corny Kegs | No Tower
Designed to hold up to FOUR 5-gallon ball lock corny kegs (see below for full list of what fits) Included KOMOS Dual Gauge CO2 Regulator maintains consistent pressure and is easily adjusted Works prefectly as a fermentation chamber, or add draft tower and faucet options to deck out the kegerator as you see fit! The KOMOS Kegerator features upgraded components for faster chilling and more efficient operation. It also has a redesigned interior that fits up to four 5-gallon kegs at one time. This unit represents an amazing value in home draft dispensing. It features a digital controller, stainless steel door, aluminum floor, rolling casters, robust KOMOS CO2 regulator, and more. This version does not include a tower kit. Great as a fermenation refrigerator or as a unit that can be built-in when adequate ventilation is an option. Approximately 4" of space on each side of the kegerator is required to allow the unit enough air. The tower is then mounted to the countertop and often a pvc collar or foam insulation is placed between the kegerator and the counter. This can also be done with any of our regular kegerators by removing the tower from the unit and mounting it on the counter. The most eye-catching difference between this unit and the previous model is definitely the capacity. This is the first kegerator we have offered that can fit up to four 5-gallon homebrew kegs at one time, and that’s all thanks to the redesigned interior. Most kegerators position the compressor on the right or left side of the inside floor, making one side shallower than the other. The KOMOS kegerator positions the compressor in the middle so both sides of the interior have an equal depth. This seemingly small detail allows the unit to hold up to four 5-gallon Slimline Torpedo or Ball Lock Corny kegs. Dual gas line inlets are absolutely clutch if you want to serve beverages at two different pressures or use two different types of gas. The previous model had one inlet that was only wide enough for a single line to pass through. Now both inlets are just over 3/4" in diameter and feature PCO 1881 threads. This threading allows you to use the plastic Carbonation Ball Lock Cap (FE13) as a quick connect option for your gas lines. Improvements to the condenser, evaporator, and insulation means the KOMOS kegerator is more efficient than ever before. It also features a redesigned internal fan for improved air circulation, pulling cold air from below the evaporator and blowing it back over the top of your kegs and up into the tower to chill your draft lines. Extra Wide Temperature Range is Perfect for Homebrewers The KOMOS kegerator is tailored to a homebrewer's needs. Take, for example, the extended range digital controller with an adjustable temperature range from 26 - 82°F. This allows homebrewers to use as fermentation chamber and is something that other kegerators don't do. Although the unit does not provide heating, the extended range allows you to program the internal temperature at say an ale fermentation temp of 68°F and will provide cooling whenever the temp rises above that set point. With the insulation provided by the kegerator, heating should rarely be needed, but you can always place a low wattage heat wrap inside the unit if ever needed. The digital controller always displays the temperature and is easily adjusted from the front of the kegerator with the door closed. It's pretty nice. KOMOS Regulator The included high-quality KOMOS CO2 regulator maintains consistent pressure and features a blow-off PRV with pull ring for safety and to relieve pressure, rubber coated gauges, and a hand knob for easy adjustment. Many kegerator brands will include the cheapest regulator they can find, and while these regulators may work OK out of the box, they will eventually show signs of pressure creep which can lead to foamy beer and other issues with your draft system. Rather than have you rely on a regulator that is "just OK", KOMOS kegerators include their own premium dual gauge regulator with highly accurate precision diaphragm and heavy-duty steel gauges. Added Features One of the unique features on a kegerator in this price range is the tower fan, which blows cold air up into your tower to reduce foaming issues. The countertop drip tray couldn't be easier to keep clean. Built-in drip trays look cool, but they're a pain to keep clean. Before long they get pretty disgusting with dried, spilled beer -- attracting fruit flies and becoming a haven for mold and bacteria to grow. They'll often overflow the reservoir inside the kegerator causing a huge mess. Our kegerator's tray is designed to be removed and easily washed. Optional Draft Towers Both draft tower options are made from stainless steel, a huge upgrade over chrome plated towers commonly found on other kegerators. The difference is simply in the appearance. Do you prefer the sleek look of brushed stainless, or the quietly ominous appearance of matte black? The matte black tower option pairs perfectly with the NukaTap Stealth Bomber faucets, which also feature a matte black finish. Or mix and match. You do you! Each draft tower kit comes standard with Duotight fittings and EVABarrier draft tubing. Duotight push-in fittings offer quick connection, a reliable seal, and versatility. Setting up and connecting draft line has never been easier—no more hose clamps or heating water to soften tubing. Duotight fittings are included for the tower shanks, regulator, and for splitting gas lines (double & triple tap only). EVABarrier double walled tubing offers superior protection against oxidation, CO2 loss, and microbial growth. It's also PVC-free and BPA-free. Optional Faucets The most popular forward-sealing faucets we offer are, without a doubt, the Intertap and the NukaTap. Forward-sealing means that while in the closed position the faucet will keep beer in it instead of draining out. This keeps the internal parts from getting sticky and reduces the chance of off flavors transferring to your beer while you pour. Both faucets feature s modular, threaded spout that can fit a variety of attachments including a growler filler or stout spout, and all attachments are cross compatible. The Intertap boasts all stainless steel internal components, whereas NukaTap's internal shuttle is made from TPV, but the NukaTap was designed with a lower thermal mass for reduced first pour foam. And for the price-conscious brewer, we off the industry standard beer faucet. It may not have the same bells and whistles as the other options, but it is no less dependable. For more info on each faucet option, check them out below the description. Best Value & Backed by MoreBeer! We've looked around, and when you factor in fast and free shipping, you are getting the very best value on a kegerator in the USA. Plus you're getting MoreBeer! service if something happens in shipment. We double box the unit with foam pads and have very little shipping damage. However, it will be delivered via Fed-Ex ground so damage is possible. If your unit arrives damaged just call us up and we will work with you to take care of it. Export Brown Malt | Simpsons Malt

Kilned to a color range of 36–45°L, it provides the sought-after biscuity, nutty, and lightly toasted characteristics of Brown Malt, but with a more subdued roast profile and a cleaner finish. In comparison to standard Brown Malt (150–191°L), Export Brown exhibits significantly less acrid bitterness and intense dry roast notes, increasing its versatility across a broader spectrum of beer styles. American Oak Cubes (Stavin) - Medium Plus Toast
Premium, Fire-Toasted Oak Cubes from Stavin Medium + Toast American Oak will impart flavors of campfire, vanilla, roasted coffee and butterscotch. These fire-toasted oak cubes are as close as you can come to the full range of flavors you would get from aging your beer in a full sized barrel, unlike convection-toased cubes. The difference is that convection toasted cubes are made by cutting the stave to size, then passing the small cubes through a toasting chamber. Stavin fire-toasts their staves whole, just like they would when making a barrel, and then cuts them down to size. The result is a gradation of toasting from the surface through to the center of the cube, where each different toast level represents a different flavor set that the oak will give your beer. The result is a much more complex and natural profile; by comparison convection toasted cubes taste one dimensional. Oak cubes also release their flavor into your beer more slowly than chips, giving you more control over the final degree of impact in your beer. You should plan on an extended aging period of 1-6 months when using cubes. This longer contact time again promotes flavor complexity by allowing all the flavors of the oak and your beer to marry. Recommended Dosage is 2 oz per 5 gallons for impact equivalent to aging in a brand new oak barrel. Download the PDF

Potassium Metabisulfite
Potassium Metabisulfite, (often referred to as "SO2", "sulfites" "meta", or "meta-bi") has several uses in winemaking. At the crush, sulfites are generally used to help control the spoilage bacteria and indigenous yeast that may already be present both on the fruit and in the winery (i.e. on the picking bins, processing equipment, tanks, tubing, etc). The amount generally used is enough to inhibit most of the unwanted organisms but not enough to hinder a cultured yeast, which has a higher tolerance to sulfites than most of the indigenous organisms do. This inhibition effectively "wipes the slate clean" for the cultured yeast to step in and rapidly colonize the must so that it can effectively dominate the subsequent fermentation. In addition, sulfites also help to inhibit the enzymatic browning of both musts and finished wines so that all of their delicate complexities can be preserved. Later, during storage and in the bottle, sulfites at the proper levels will further protect a wine by continuing to inhibit spoilage organisms, as well as by scavenging oxygen. Note that the exact amount needed to effectively do the job is determined by the pH of the wine. Refer to our MoreManuals! on Red or White Winemaking or one of the winemaking books that we offer for a complete explanation on how to properly manage sulfites. In addition, it's important to keep in mind that free SO2 levels fall faster in wood cooperage than in glass or stainless, so if you are using a barrel you will most likely need to manage sulfite levels more closely. The most common form of Metabisulfite is as a powder which is fixed with potassium or sodium. 1/4 tsp of Potassium Metabisulfite adds 50ppm to 5 gallons of must. Old Metabisulfite loses potency with time and should be replaced every year to assure that you are getting correct levels. You can use old Metabisulfite to make solutions for sanitizing equipment.

French Oak Chips | Heavy Toast
Oak Chips are a fast and economical way to add oak barrel flavor to any beer. Oak Chips are made from seasoned American and French Oak staves which are chipped down and convection-toasted to create flavors similar to what a comparably toasted barrel would impart. The available toast levels are Medium, Medium +, and Heavy. It's important to understand that each toasting level creates different flavors in the oak; not a greater intensity of impact in your beer. Don't think of them as weak, normal & strong; they're each a different flavor profile. Heavy Toast French Oak chips will impart strong flavors of Clove, Spice, Smoke & Butterscotch; along with a small amount of Vanilla & Coconut flavor. Because of the high surface area, oak chips can extract quickly and care should be taken not to overdo it. Irish Red Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash
Our Irish Red Ale recipe is hard to nail down as any specific style—similar to a big Amber Ale, but it's so unusual it does not really fit within any category. Malt character utterly dominates this beer's flavor profile, containing dark Crystal malts, including Special B, and a pinch of Roasted Barley for a deep, red color and a very distinctive caramel flavor. Irish Red Ale has been one of our most popular ingredient kits for many years, and continues to receive a lot of positive feedback from satisfied customers to this day. If you're going to be venturing into new realms of taste discovery, this is a winning ticket we can solidly recommend! Compared to the Extract version of this kit, the Mini Mash recipe swaps out some of the malt extract for 2-row malt. And the special instructions included with the kit will walk you through conducting a miniature mash that goes beyond the typical steeping grain process in standard Extract recipes. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.047-52 SRM (Color Range): 20 IBUs: 39-43 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. The recommended yeast(s) can be found below. All grains will come milled. Please Note: In order to better serve our customers, we are now offering our extract recipe kits with either Liquid Malt Extract (LME) or Dried Malt Extract (DME). The majority of our DME kits were converted from the LME version, which is why you may notice slight variances in the extract names and quantities on your recipe sheet. You may also find that your Specific Gravity and ABV% are slightly higher if you choose DME. Whether LME or DME, add all extracts provided according to the recipe sheet. Riwaka™ Heavenly Haze Single Hop Hazy IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
Our single-hop Hazy IPA series dedicated to expressing the newest hops when they hit the scene Includes 100% Riwaka™ hops from boil, to whirlpool, to dry hopping Riwaka™ Flavor/Aroma: Citrusy grapefruit, kumquat Estimated ABV: 6.7% Estimated IBUs: 32 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Heavenly Haze is our series of single-hop Hazy IPAs. Whenever a hip new hop hits the scene, we're as excited to brew with it as you are! We developed Heavenly Haze to use a straight-forward hazy IPA malt bill as a base that's shared between all Heavenly Haze recipe kits—the only thing that changes is your hop of choice! This allows you to really zero in on the different flavors and aromas of one particular hop, and it's how we recommend experiencing a new hop you haven't brewed with before. We'll continue to expand our Heavenly Haze series to include newly released hops that are perfect for NEIPAs, as well as circle back to include some of our favorite hazy hops that have long been available. The kiwis keep it coming with yet another hop varietal that's bursting with character. Riwaka™ varietal 85-6-23 was originally bred by New Zealand Hops by crossing Saaz with specially developed breeding selections. The result was a highly aromatic hop with almost double the oil content of its parent Saaz. Realesed in 1997, this was once an exceedingly difficult hop to get your hands on outside of New Zealand, as it was quickly bought up by the native brewers. With an almost 1:1 alpha to beta acids ratio, this rockstar aroma hop gives off strong notes of citrusy grapefruit and kumquat. Perfect for new world pale ales, IPAs, hoppy lagers, and any beer you want a bold fruity hop character to shine. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.061-66 SRM (Color Range): 4-5 IBUs: 15 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.7% Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Riwaka™ is a trademark owned by New Zealand Hops Limited Company

Hallertau Mittelfruh | Pellet Hops
This classic German hop has an herbal/floral character and smooth bitterness, making it an ideal choice for brewing lagers, especially traditional pilsners. Hallertau Mittelfruh is one of the original four Noble hops, and is categorized as a "landrace" hop, meaning that it grew and adapted naturally over time in its native region. Its name is derived from the region of Hallertau, the world's largest hop growing region, and the German word mittelfrueh meaning "middle-early", referring to the early middle part of the growing season when it's ready to be harvested. The majority of its oil content comes from Humulene which provides the floral, herbal, and spicy character. Clean, crisp, and perfect for your next pilsner or hoppy lager. Perlick Faucet - 630SS Stainless Steel
For you, The Discerning Kegger, these Perlick beer faucets are a thing of beauty. When you draw off a pint, they look good, operate smoothly, and don’t gum up. They are a breeze to take apart for sanitizing. These design benefits will have you sold on the lifetime value of these taps. #1 Design Benefit - Forward Sealing The #1 feature of the Perlick faucet is its forward sealing design. Why is that so important? In an ordinary, rear-sealing faucet, the entire faucet must drain out of beer. There is actually a pin hole in the back of an ordinary faucet that allows beer to drain out. Because beer drains from the entire faucet the faucet remains sticky and is prone to contamination from the left over residue. The Perlick faucet, with its forward sealing design, only has beer drain from the short 1" nozzle section. This allows it to always operate smoothly (even when it was not cleaned between uses) and greatly reduces contamination. #2 Design Benefit - Stainless Steel Standard old school faucets are made of brass that is plated in chrome. The chrome plating wears off and the Brass can pit. This can result in flavor contamination when your beer runs over exposed brass and pits which usually harbor bacteria. In the late 90's, when the first stainless faucet was released, it cost close to $100. Wow. Now you can choose to get a traditional style faucet made out of stainless, but why would you bother when you can get this unique forward sealing design and stainless construction all in the same Perlick faucet? Sure it costs a little more but you will never regret making the upgrade now.
