Our Oatmeal Stout is loaded to the brim with malt! A helping of Flaked Oats give this brew a smooth, almost slick, mouthfeel, while three different dark malts—Chocolate, Black Patent, and Roasted Barlery—combine for a very complex roast flavor. A lower bittering rate from a moddest hop addition allows the flavor emphasis to rest squarely on the synergy of maltiness, dark roasted malts, and oat flavor. Oatmeal Stout is one of our most consistently well-reviewed kits and comes highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a dark, roasty beer.

Wow. If you've never tried the North Coast Brewing Co. Old Rasputin, then you need to brew our clone version of it. If you have tried the North Coast Brewing Co. Old Rasputin, then you know what we're talking about, and need to brew our clone version of it!
This imperial stout is one of our most complex recipe kits. Not only because of the ingredients invovled (12 pounds of base malt, 5 specialty malts, and 3 different hops!), but because of the mouthfeel, flavors, and aromas it provides. The all grain kit even includes 2 pounds of dry malt extract because the amount of malt simply won't fit in your average size mash tun!
This is also one of those beers that continues to improve the longer it's allowed to age. Our Old Bearded Stout is bold, boasting an incredible roasty, bready flavors, and aromas of chocolate and coffee. Coming in at right around 8.9%, this is a great beer to "just have one" of, but we won't blame you if you go for a second!

Jim was looking for a dark, smooth, creamy mouth feel stout just like an Australian stout he had tasted years ago. Over the years, Jim found a clone that was close but needed some small changes. After many trials and test batches, he came up with this recipe that is very drinkable when it is fresh. It will get smoother with a couple months of aging and creaminess added by the lactose makes this a very good winter warming stout. Jim hopes you enjoy this beer as much as he has. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

With a texture and color similar to black crude oil, this monstrous, thick, chewy beer takes a minimum of six months to age out. The foundation of the beer is 12 lbs of malt extract. Then we throw in some Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, and Black Patent malts. Founded in 1996, Stone Brewing Co. has unleashed a demand for over-the-top beers. Their flagship, Arrogant Bastard Ale, challenged us to pick up a bottle and drink it, kicking off a cult-like following of the beer and the brewery. For their 12th Anniversary, Head Brewer Mitch Steele and the Stone Brew Crew worked with homebrew recipes from Brewhouse Supervisor Jeremy Moynier and Distribution Supervisor Jake Ratzke to create this huge oatmeal stout, but instead of relying on just hops for the bitterness he added some cacao to the boil kettle. The result is simply amazing! We first had this beer at the shop and thought, "We have to have this recipe"! Mitch and Greg must have felt the same way about this beer that we did and handed it over. Stone Brewing Co. is located in Escondido, Ca, so next time you are in Southern California, make it a point to stop by. They have a fantastic restaurant as well, using locally-grown food and a focus on quality. Inspired by Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout®, this kit combines our All Out Brunch Stout recipe with an addition of bourbon-soaked oak chips
Includes Nugget and Willamette hops
Estimated ABV: 7.5%
Estimated IBUs: 60

Bourbon Belle takes the beautifully complex flavor of Brunch Stout and adds a charming southern drawl. Similar to "All Out", this recipe combines a variety of dark malts, cacao nibs, and ground coffee for a remarakably rich flavor profile, and then adds a little giddy-up with an addition of bourbon-soaked oak chips. The oak chips are added to simulate the barrel-aging process used for making Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout®, or "KBS". You wouldn't expect a foal to win the Triple-Crown, so practice patience when brewing Bourbon Belle. We recommend a conditioning period of 2 to 6 months to allow this beer to fully mature before entering the race.
Please note: this recipe calls for 2 oz of Kona and Sumatra coffee grounds and 1 cup of Kentucky Bourbon, which are not included in the kit.

Flash Brewing® Kits from MoreBeer!® require only 10 minutes to brew. Just mix and ferment.

Estimated ABV: 4.9%
Estimated IBUs: 15
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
Irish Stout Flash Brewing® KitIrish Stout is built for the same reason the best pub stouts endure: it’s approachable, balanced, and designed for another pint. Instead of leaning hard into heavy roast, this recipe focuses on a smooth, rounded malt profile with a gentle dark edge—think light cocoa, toasted grain, and a hint of coffee—then finishes clean and crisp.
Cascade Cryo Hops bring a restrained but noticeable hop character that plays surprisingly well with the dark malt profile. You’ll pick up subtle citrus and a touch of classic American hop flavor that keeps the beer lively and modern without pulling it out of stout territory. It’s a small twist that makes the beer especially fun for craft beer enthusiasts—familiar enough to feel classic, but different enough to keep you paying attention.
This is the kind of beer you crack when the day’s done: a weeknight pint, a game-day staple, something to bring to a backyard hang, or the darker option in the cooler that still drinks light on its feet. If you enjoy the smooth, approachable stout experience of Guinness Draught, Murphy’s, or Beamish, you’ll recognize the overall “easy pint” balance immediately—just with a brighter hop accent than you might expect.

Only a hoser would pass up the chance to brew a stout influenced by the Great White North. Similar to "All Out", this recipe combines a variety of dark malts, cacao nibs, and ground coffee for a remarkably rich flavor profile, and then takes it to new vistas with an addition of maple syrup and Canadian whiskey-soaked oak chips. The maple syrup and oak chips are added to simulate the barrel-aging process used for making Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout®, or "CBS". The result is a deeply complex stout that would have Bob and Doug McKenzie swearing off Elsinore beer after one sip. Not to cause a kerfuffle, but patience is key when brewing Sorry Aboot Brunch Stout. We recommend conditioning the beer for 2 to 6 months after the oak chips are added. Best enjoyed in your favorite tuque with a box of Timbits.
Please note: this recipe calls for 2 oz of Kona and Sumatra coffee grounds, 16 oz of Maple Syrup, and 1 cup of Canadian Whiskey, which are not included in the kit.

An amazing creamer style stout faucet shipped free in USA lower 48 states. Beer is forced through 5 tiny holes in the restrictor plate delivering that dense, delicous creamy head for which Guinness is so famous. Also great for use with lower carbonated Ales and Stouts. This is the faucet you would use with a Nitrogen/Co2 gas mixture in a Guinness style set up, but can also be used with a straight Co2 set up.

Jason, who recently graduated from the American Brewers Guild, now teaches our beginning and advanced brewing classes held every month in Concord, Ca. Jason use to brew up Jim Rossi's Honey-Pale and our B3 Stout and mix them together out of the tap 50/50. Jason decided to take it one step further and started brewing them together. He says "It is a like a Black and Tan" with a honey flavor of course. The beer does not taste like a true stout but is very far from being a Pale Ale. The continually positive response of "wow" from friends and other MoreBeer! customers prompted us to make his unique combination as his own kit, Honey-Stout. Thank you Jason for reminding us that when it comes to beer flavor, there are no rules. Jason recommends English yeast, WLP002.

Background: MoreBeer! has a small beer fridge in our Concord, CA location. We try to order different beers every week, to allow our customers to try something new. We recently received "Tart of Darkness" from The Bruery. Nobody here had tried it before, so we opened a bottle to split amongst numerous employees. Within a few sips, the two cases we received had been completely purchased by employees - sorry Concord customers! We instantly got in contact with The Bruery, and being from a homebrewing background, they agreed to work with us on the recipe!
Their Tart of Darkness sour stout is the perfect blend of roasty, sweet, tart, and smooth. From the second it hits your palate, to the satisfying "ahhhh" after taking a sip, this is a beer that will leave you wanting another every time! A great beer for those that already love sours, or for those just getting into sours!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...BEER!?
When discussions of a flavored stout kit came about, everyone had their own opinion. "I think we could use a chocolate stout". "A vanilla stout would be more unique". In this kit, we include 4 oz of our Tcho cacao nibs, 4 oz of our natural strawberry flavoring, and 3 vanilla beans. The result is an incredible flavor that will have you and your friends craving something new for dessert: The MoreBeer! Neapolitan Stout!
If you want to take this to a whole new level though, combine this beer with some ice cream to make a neapolitan float!
