KegLand MKII Magnetic Drive Pump | Center Inlet Pump Head | High Temp Plastic | 5 GPM | 25 Watt

    Description

This magnetic drive pump is a perfect pump for your brew system. Use it to move hot wort in an all-grain system and also to transfer wort from boil kettle to fermenter. The housing of the unit is made from tough, food grade food-grade heat-resistant SPS. The magnetic drive allows you to slow down the flow without damaging the pump. This pump is not self priming so do not run the pump dry. The pump head can be rotated in 60-degree increments, allowing for 6 different pump head orientations. Optional stainless steel pump head upgrades available—standard stainless center inlet head or stainless inline tri-clamp head.

        Great pump

This pump and head has made transfer of wart easy. Mounted on aluminum plate and added switch with incinerator light. The pump runs very quit so the incinerator light is a big help. Always us a GFI Beer and electricity only mix when watching TV.

MKII High Temp Magnetic Drive Pump (25 Watt)

Works like a dream. I attached mine to a board for stability when I use a ball valve so it won't tip forward. Much easier & safer to transfer hot wort. Perfect for recirculating wort when needed during the boil.

        Good brew day pump

Strong pump. It’s a little noisy though. I use this pump for recirculation during the mash and at the end of the boil for the whirlpool. It’s easy to take apart and clean too.

        It works. Saves a back.

The biggest personal hazard in brewing is moving large containers of liquid that weigh alot. Either heavy, glass, whatever. I bought this one year and it's been one of the top upgrades. That - and upping the container size for fermentation to 30 gallons. But - no more lifting of 7 gallon fermonsters.. Set up with cam lock fittings and hoses.

        Excellent Little Pump

I got the pump to circulate beer line cleaner and rinse water for kegerator lines and for this it does the job well. I mounted it to a small poly cutting board and this makes it more stable. It would be nice to have a switch so you do not have to plug and unplug the cord to turn on and off the pump. I wired in my own inline switch and this is a nice addition. As best as i can tell the threads are 1/2 BSP, which means they are British Standard Pipe and I believe these are then tapered. The Duotight connectors work well since they have a similar parallel thread and washer. They spin on and off easily and this makes for easy storage in the bucket they are used with. You could probably take off a star for not having a switch wired in but this was bought on a Deal 5 promotion and that makes it an excellent pump for the price. The photo shows the added switch and that is a cut out nitrile finger to cover the rocker switch to make it somewhat waterproof. Keep in mind that this modification will surely void any warranty.

This is a quiet and capable pump that is easy on the budget.

My efficiencies went up when I started recirculating wort during the mash. I do BIAB and I love this little pump - I use it during mashing (mostly to stop hot spots) and to chill and transfer at the end of the brewday. One note - I got my pump when there was a sale and it included the stainless head - I cannot say how well it works with the standard plastic pump head - so your experience may be different without the SS head. This pump is half or less the cost of the more popular units - been working great for a year - no blockages or anything!

Great lil pump while not silent quieter than I had expected.

So far great pump. I had wanted to get a pump to help even out the temp variation from top to bottom in my digit boil all grain kettle. It worked as I had hoped and reduces some stirring but the grain still needs to be stirred often. Otherwise it will compact itself and not let the wort pass thru. Also helps cycle the grain hulls back into in the basket. Flow was very good, I had to keep the ball valve about 1/2 closed until it was time for the boil. ??

Was a great pump when it worked

I owned this pump for a little over three years, along with the upgraded stainless steel head. It worked great up until my last brew day on October 3rd. Turned the pump on, it wasn't spinning. Did a quick disassembly, nothing was blocking the impeller though it did seem to spin a bit rough. Removed the rest of the housing, spun the magnetic ring and it was very rough. I managed to loosen it up enough that it'd spin when powered on, albeit it with a very loud screeching noise. I ran it for a 20 minute whirlpool, then again to transfer into my fermenter. Took the head back apart and gave it a good cleaning as I always do and that was that. Fast forward to yesterday. I decided to try and lubricate it, as I had never done that before and it's something often recommended to do periodically. Looked all over, couldn't find anywhere to drop some oil. I posted on here and another vendor, ask well as shoot an email to Keg King directly (no reply yet) asking if/how the pump could be lubricated. Turns out it can't! So knowing that my pump is most likely useless, I decided to take it apart. Once apart, I quickly discovered that the bearing in the picture is crunchy. It's beyond shot. I suppose if somebody were so inclined (and more mechanically apt) they could probably replace the bearing. But that somebody ain't me.Anyway, it was a great pump while it lasted. It consistently receives great reviews, and for the price compared to other name brand pumps, it's almost unbeatable. I'm still tempted to buy another once since I already have the upgraded stainless steel head. I just wish there was a way to lubricate the bearings easily without breaking the seal (and presumably any warranty).

For the price, this thing woks like a champ. Used many times with 5 and 10 gallon batches with no issues. Use it in conjunction with my wort chiller for recirculating the wort to help cool down to pitching temp quickly. On average can get to pitching temp in about 10 minutes.

        Works Good, nice size.

I used it to upgrade my Mash-n-Boil, really helps with temp control. Then for sparging, I'm putting my hot sparge water into my to be used fermenator (Conical or SS bucket) and pumping up to the top with an added hose. The lid has a right angle barb to a simple plastic Siphon Spray Wort Aerator/Jet Fly Sparge. Might upgrade that part later, but have done 2 batches like this so far and works great.Much more fun then going up and down the latter to sparge.

        Great, quiet little pump!

This pump is amazing! I use it to recirculate mash since now I do full volume mashes and I was getting cold spots. Not anymore!! I boosted my efficiency 20%! I wasn’t expecting much flow but I had to slow it down quite a bit. And it’s super quiet!! I didn’t know it was on until wort started flowing! The Prius of pumps! It would be nice if it came with the SS head as an upgrade option, not a separate item. Now I have a polysulphone head I don’t need. It’s not quite sturdy enough to support my ball valve without tipping forward, which I’m not sure if that is common for pumps as this is my first. If you mounted it this wouldn’t be a problem. Also an on/off switch would be clutch but no worries. Definitely worth the buy.

Pump doesn't work. Not sure i primed it correctly since there are no explicit instructions but I did pour the liquid directly into the pump head before hooking everything else up. Maybe my liquid is too thick for this pump?
