BrewZilla Heat Exchanger Dish | HED | Gen 4 | 35L

    Speed up heating times with the Heat Exchanger Dish (HED) for Gen 4 BrewZillas. This optional upgrade accessory redirects the flow of wort so that it spends more time exposed to the heating elements before reaching the center drain at the bottom of the kettle and being recirculated. Due to the concave bottom and central draining hole on the Gen 4 BrewZilla, recirculating wort will pass through the malt pipe and then down through the boiler false bottom following the path of least resistance. This can cause wort to make a B-line for the drainage hole and reduce the wort's exposure to the unit's heating elements. With the HED installed, wort will be directed to the edge of the BrewZilla base and pass over the elements for a longer period and reduce the time needed to heat to your set temperature.

    For use with the Gen 4 35L BrewZilla. It is not compatible with any previous generations of BrewZillas or DigiBoils.

    The HED has been pressed into a slight concave shape to match the curvature of the boiler false bottom. Includes a longer eye bolt assembly than the one included with the false bottom.

    NOTE: The order of bolt to washer to nuts goes as follows. Eye bolt, washer, false bottom, washer, nut, HED, then wing nut. This is so that the eye bolt does not come completely removed when and if you clean underneath the Heat Exchanger Dish.

        This fixes the temperature control problems

        This fixes the temperature control problems or at least dramatically helps with the temperature control problems. It also decreased the heating time required during mash and boil.

        Necessary addition to the Gen4

        This is an absolutely necessary item, and I'm giving it 4 stars because it does exactly what it should, but would be 5 if it wasn't for the fact that this product is necessary due to a design flaw in the gen 4 that Kegland refuses to admit was an error.This definitely corrects the issue with recirculating wort not coming into contact with the temp probe long enough to regulate temp properly. I still find I need to throttle my heating element back to about 30-40% during mash and ensure I've used enough rice hulls to get good flow.Only downside to this piece is you're going to have to take it off the bottom screen to properly clean both pieces.
