The bucket is great. I like the size. No blow off when I put five gallons into it to ferment.

Good product. Packed well. Pleased
I bought the buckets to store my sanitizing solution, but the lids, which are bought separately, do not snap on to the buckets. They just lay there loosely, not sealing the bucket at all. This was a big disappointment for me. Never-the-less, the bucket itself seems to be of good quality.
Can't wait to use these to replace my old 6 gallon buckets
Works great for brewing 5 gal.
i ordered 3 buckets and 3 lids, i received 3 buckets and 2 lids, i called and without any hastles i got my lid and the delivery was fast . I would definetly order from them again
So far it is working great....lid is a little difficult
I’ve used this for making wine kits and they do just fine. The seal on the lid is questionable.
The quality of the plastic is fine. Bought the lid with this and unfortunately, does not include a rubber seal in the lid like other lids I've purchased in the past for about the same money. I feel more confident with the seal knowing air is not leaking into the bucket.
Bought the lid linked in description and have done 3 brews so far. Each one does not have airlock activity d/t poor seal with the lid. Otherwise it works well, spigot is nice as it has a have moon shape that allows for better control when avoiding the yeast/trub
I make 7 1/2 gal batches, and this is the perfect size for Secondary, cold crash etc. When I used it for a bottling bucket, I found the volume markings to off by quite a bit. Did my own calibration and it is great now.
I'm relatively certain what I received will work but also relatively certain what I received was not made of materials advertised also it lacks the indent and threads for the spigot however either way I still would have had to drill a hole for said spigot I'm irritated to say the least
The responses to the two questions on the spigot hole are inconsistent. Is the spigot hole drilled or not? Can the bucket be used as a bucket without the spigot?
The spigot hole is NOT pre drilled... I use them to ferment 6 gallons of cider.
The spigot holes are NOT pre-drilled on the two I bought which is what I wanted.
Mine was not drilled out. I use it as a bucket.
The spigot is not drilled. Yes it can be used as a bucket.
the hole is not drilled
Enter anI own two of these buckets. Both have a molded in boss pre-thredded to receive a spigot. one I drilled out for use as a fermenter and one I use as a bucket without a spigot. If you do not want to use a spigot and just use the bucket you are good to go. If you want to add a spigot you will need to drill out a thin section of plastic sidewall which seals the inside wall of the thredded boss. This note in the product description is precisely accurate: " Please note: the spigot hole comes pre-molded into the bucket and needs to be drilled out before installing the spigot. We recommend using a 5/8" drill bit and taking care not to strip the female threads that accept the spigot. The spigot includes a back nut that won't be needed—simply remove the back nut and thread in the spigot with the gasket in between the neck of the spigot and the bucket. The lid forms a very tight seal and requires a decent amount of downward force to lock in place." answer to this question.
Yes. In order to install the spigot the user will need to drill the through hole in the spigot port.
Does the spigot hole come pre-drilled or can the bucket be used without a spigot?
You have to drill your own hole which is difficult to do without leaving a rough edge that will leave lots of places for bacteria to hide. The spigot does not come with the bucket so make sure you order the one made for this bucket. Note the threads on the spigot that is made for the bucket are plastic and barely fit the threads in the bucket. This means you can barely tighten the spigot. If you try to tighten it firmly the threads let go and it becomes loose.
The bucket does not come with the hole fully punched out. There are threads tapped into the bucket but you will have to punch out the bottom of those threads to install the spigot.
Does this bucket come with a drilled hole or just a threaded boss that needs to be drilled? I don't really need or want a spigot but need the larger volume bucket.
This comes with a threaded spot for the spigot but you have to drill your own hole all the way through the bucket. If you don't need the spigot this will work.
Hi David - This comes with a drilled hole and needs a spigot.
Is the threaded hole a knock out I need a solid bucket do not need a spigot in the bucket?
The threaded hole is sealed at the time of shipping. You do not need to install the spigot.
