Sanitary Filter
This versatile little filter is a beer maker's insurance policy! Whether you’re aerating or racking you will appreciate having the peace-of-mind of knowing that your brew will not be contaminated by whatever is floating around in the air. Use it anywhere you need to keep something sanitary. Both 1/4"" and 3/8"" tubing will attach to it, and it will snugly fit in any standard stopper as well. Check out this list of suggested uses: Airlock: The most common use might be as an airlock on any kind of fermenter. Unlike other small sanitary filters, this unit fits perfectly into a stopper. Works great for conical fermenters where air is taken in when samples are taken or trub is dumped. Using the sanitary filter as airlock also eliminates the concern of drawing air back in as hot liquid cools and contracts in a fermenter. It is not appropriate for long term storage of beer as it is not an oxygen barrier. Inline Aeration/Oxygenation Filter: With an oxygenation or aeration system, such as our FE375 or FE380, it will filter contaminants out of oxygen or air. It is connected inline between pump/O2 tank and Stainless Diffusion Stone. Hand Pumps: Some breweries use this filter with the breweries hand pump system. Air going back into the cask is sanitized through this filter. This has extended shelf life of Real Ales by up to 2 weeks! CO2 Filtration: Used inline with your CO2 Kegging setup, this piece can be used to filter out any potential contaminants from your CO2 Tank. About the inline filters: There are two sides to the filter - an "in" and an "out". The direction you use doesn't matter, however, you want to take note of which way you first push air through it and always keep it that way. There is an arrow on the edge of the filter housing that we use to keep the airflow going one direction when using it. The filter should never get wet, so don't try and sanitize it by dunking it in sanitizer. If you want to clean the outside of it, use Alpet D2. To store the filter, use a little tinfoil on the "In" of the filter and store in a zip-lock bag. Can last up to 1 year. Discard if there are any signs of discoloration. This product qualifies as a HEPA filter under US government standards. STORE DRY AT ALL TIMES. Easy Jiggler - Stainless Auto Siphon Racking Cane
The Easy Jiggler combines the convenience of a hand-pump auto siphon with the longevity and simplicity of a stainless steel racking cane. Plastic auto siphons are easy to use, but they're prone to cracking after heavy use and can break easily if they're dropped on the ground. Stainless racking canes won't break on you, but getting the siphon started is its own debacle. You either have to cap your carboy and blow through the hood, exposing your beer to oxygen, or you have to suck on the end of the hose, which isn't exactly sanitary. Enter the jiggle siphon, the last racking cane you'll ever own! Get jiggle with it! Made from 304 stainless steel, the Easy Jiggler will last a lifetime and can be quickly disassembled for cleaning and sanitizing. To use, simply insert the tip of the jiggler into your fermenter and give it a few long, steady strokes to begin the siphon. Once it's going, you'll hear the glass ball inside spinning away. Why This is a Great Pump: Self-Priming Heat Tolerant materials to 212°F when used with Silicone tubing Speed Control! Gentle Diaphragm Design Self Priming: This pump is capable of pumping gasses, meaning that pumping does not require priming! This makes transfers between carboys or kegs incredibly easy. Simply put both inlet and outlet hoses in a bucket of sanitizer and run the pump for a minute. You're then good to transfer your beer with your sanitized pump! Removable Pre-Filter: This is something which is almost always necessary on diaphragm pumps, as the diaphragm itself is very delicate, and can be ruined by small solids. The pre-filter included on this pump will work to keep solids out of the pump, extending the working life of the unit. And the filter can be removed between uses for cleaning. Heat Tolerant: All materials used in the construction of the pump tolerate temperatures up to 212°F when used with heat tolerant tubing such as silicone. Because the pump comes with vinyl tubing you would need to replace that tubing with silicone. Speed Control: Perhaps the most unique feature is a dial control to adjust flow from 0 to 3 gallons per minute. Use it to send your wort from the kettle to the fermenter, or even after fermentation to send beer through a plate filter (such as our FIL45). Gentle on your Beer: A diaphragm pump works by moving beer through one pulsating diaphragm into the next. It is a design that is very gentle on the liquid being pumped. When this pump was first introduced to us, we loved the idea, but had concerns that the speed control would compromise the longevity of the motor. We've built much larger pumps and normally you need a $700 frequency drive to control motor speed. However, we've been selling this pump since the mid-2000s and it continues to perform well and receive excellent customer feedback. Self Priming Transfer Pump
Transfer fermented, but uncarbonated, beer from carboy to carboy or from carboy to keg. For those brewers that perhaps cannot lift a carboy or have issues with siphoning this is a great solution. Self-priming (will push air) so that it can draw out of a carboy or tank. Gentle diaphragm action so as to not "beat up" the beer. Made of food-grade, NSF approved, materials polypropylene and santoprene, so no metallic interaction with the product. Pumps 3 gallons per minute. Flow can be restricted with an inline valve positioned on the outflow side. Self-regulating motor is designed to temporarily shut down, and then turn back on, when restriction pressure exceeds pump capacity. No more struggling with all the different techniques to get a siphon started. The Easy-Siphon will get your transfer started quickly and with zero fuss. Simply submerge the the siphon, pull the inner tube up about halfway, then pump down to start the siphon. New design features 7/8" OD racking tube to better fit carboys, 1-gallon jugs, or growlers. To prolong the life of your Easy Siphon, make sure that every time you assemble the unit, the inner walls of the outside acrylic tube and the O-Ring are wet. Comes with 3/8" cane and 15" racking tube. 5/16" or 3/8" ID tubing must be purchased separately. Maximum Temperature: 140°F (60°C) Instructions: Sanitize and rinse your Easy-Siphon. Get the inner tube gasket and the outer tube wet. Attach the curved siphon to a hose. Submerge the end of Easy-Siphon into your container. If bottling directly, attach the correct bottle for the tubing you are using and place it inside your bottle wand. Otherwise place the the tubing into the container you're racking to. Pull the inner tube up about 7" until the liquid fills the tube. Pump the inner tube down and siphon will begin. Pull out inner tube and sanitize Easy-Siphon for storage. This product is not resistant to high levels of alcohol. Do not sanitize with alcohol. Acrylic is safe for long exposure to ABV up to 15%. It is safe up to 30% ABV for short periods of time (10 minutes or so). Not safe to expose acrylic to more than 30% ABV. Exceeding those limits will damage the Acrylic and could potentially leach into liquid. If you need to exceed these limits, we recommend using a stainless racking cane.
