A must-have accessory for the BrewRO System! The TDS Monitor hooks up to the incoming and outgoing lines of the BrewRO to measure total dissolved solids. By flipping the switch back and forth you'll be able to see the level of total dissolved solids present in the water entering the system and how pure the water is coming out. Under normal conditions, the Brew RO System will output water that measures between 0 - 2 ppm TDS (99.9998% purity). The best part of the TDS Monitor is that it removes the guesswork of when to change your filters. When the outgoing measurement reads 3 ppm or higher, it's time to order a new set.

Collect Pure water with your BrewRO System without the need to monitor for overflow. The float valve will be triggered once the water reaches the top of your water collection chamber and a pre-built in auto-shut off valve will cut the water off from the pure water line as well and the waste water line.
This tried and true filter pumps fluid from one container, through three filter pads and back into another container. Designed for home winemakers who will be filtering more than 10 gallons at a time. Has a built in Flojet pump, which can be used to rack wine from one container to another by bypassing the filter pads. The pump is relatively small, drawing .5 amps and is standard 110V. Additional features include a carrying handle, built in pressure gauge, on/off switch and 4' power cord. The pressure gauge will tell you when you need to replace the pads. You will not want to filter wine which contains solids such as stems or oak chips. This will clog the pump and void the warranty.
Filter package includes 8' of 1/2 ID tubing on the input side and 4' of 1/2" ID tubing on the output side. Input side includes sediment tip but we recommend our 1/2" Racking set up (R310 or R315). The output side comes with a hook for hanging to the side of the carboy. You may also want a racking cane (R373 or R376) on this output side so your receiving vessel fills from the bottom instead of the top (to reduce oxidation.)
The manufacturer suggests that you wet the pads before inserting them into the filterhousing. Run a couple of gallons of water through the pads before you start filtering the wine. To help neutralize the pads you can use one to two teaspoons of Citric Acid in 2 gallons of water and run that through the filter.
We suggest that a stock sanitzing solution of potassium metabisulphite and citric acid (1 tblsp each in a gallon of water) ran through the filter followed by a cold water rinse would be the best way to treat your pads prior to use.

Water collection can take hours, which is why there's a convenient diverter valve that allows you to access the water from your faucet without having to disconnect the entire adapter. 20cm x 20cm filter pads made for 20x20 plate filters. 11 micron pads are considered to be a "rough" filtration and are typically used to prepare the wine to be filtered by finer pads, usually either 2-3 micron or 1.5 micron depending on the winemaker's tastes and objectives. Please note that all pad filters are rated 'nominal', meaning that about 90-95% of all particulate matter at the micron rating will be filtered out. There will always be a little bit of smaller material that is also filtered out, as well as some larger material that will make it through.
The filters can be sterilized by in-line steam, auto-claving, dry heat, hot water or chemical methods. We choose to run Saniclean solution through the pads followed by sterile water or a small amount of wine that is then discarded. After the solution is run through the pads, and the pads have softened, the filter will need to be re-tightened.
Each pad has an entry side and an exit side, distinguishable by their different textures. The entry side is a billowy type texture, frequently called the "rough" side; and the exit side has a crosshatch pattern and is commonly called the "smooth" side.
