  • Sale -15% Cryo Hops - Ekuanot - PLACEHOLDER

    Ekuanot® Brand HBC 366 | Cryo Hops®

    2 reviews

Great for all beer styles but highly recommended for IPAs and other hop forward beers Aroma Profile: Bubblegum, Citrus, Stone Fruit, Tropical, Woody Alpha Acids: 18.0 – 25.0% Cryo Hop® Hop Pellets Higher AA and nearly twice the resin content of traditional T-90 hop pellets Increase yield by reducing vegetal matter in your brewhouse and fermenter Cryo Hops® provide brewers with the ability to get gigantic hop character while reducing astringent and unpleasant vegetal flavors. With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer! Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor.  It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil. Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material. Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier. Typical Hop Statistics: Alpha Acids: 18.0 – 25.0% Beta Acids: 5.0 – 8.0% Total Oil: 3.0 – 6.0%   Ekuanot® is a registered trademark owned by Hop Breeding Company. • Agar (2 oz)

    Malt Agar - 2 oz.

    1 review

Pharmaceutical grade dry agar for making plates and slants. 2 oz will make up approximately 4000 ml of liquid agar. BK580, First Steps In Yeast Culturing, is a great reference if you do not have prior experience working with agar. For lab use, use 12 grams to make 1 liter of solid agar, which is way more than even a big laboratory uses. You need a very accurate scale to measure that out. You want to dissolve the agar slowly in the water or wort for a few minutes. Then heat gently till you get to a boil. Be very careful of not boiling over, if you do it's best to throw that boil out as your water to agar ratio is off and you will not get a good medium. Boil for a few minutes and then divide out to sterilize.

White Labs Yeast | WLP521 Hornindal Kveik Ale | Beer Yeast | PurePitch® Next Generation | Industry Leading Viability | 150 Billion Cells

WLP521 is a Kveik strain shared with the world by Terje Raftevold from Hornindal, Norway. An ideal choice for beers made with fruit-forward hops Produces an intense tropical flavor and aroma with notes of fresh tangerine, mango, and pineapple PurePitch® Next Generation offers a precise cell count across all strains so you can calculate the exact pitch rate you need for every batch Scan the barcode on the back of the package and enter your wort stats into the Pitch Rate Calculator White Labs Yeast has been producing high-quality brewer's yeast since 1995 and continues to raise the bar in the art of fermentation Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch! Hornindal produces intense tropical flavor and aroma with notes of fresh tangerine, mango, and pineapple. Ideal for Hazy or Juicy IPAs, or any fruit-forward Pale Ale, Blonde, or tropical IPA. This strain was originally shared with the world by Terje Raftevold from Hornindal, Norway. As with most kveik strains, Hornindal has an exceptionally wide temperature range and will produce more intense fruit character the higher the fermentation temperature. PurePitch® Next Generation—now with more yeast, get a foolproof fermentation without a starter! Just twist the cap & pitch! Why PurePitch Next Gen versus other options? Typically yeast manufacturers use a range for how many yeast cells are going into each package. This can vary widely, especially from strain to strain. Next Gen offers a far more precise cell count across all strains allowing you to use the Whitelabs exclusive pitch calculator. Simply scan the barcode on the back of each package to be taken to their online calculator. Enter the volume, strength, and pitching temperature of the wort you are fermenting and the calculator tells you exactly how much yeast to pitch. You will be fermenting like a professional brewer, using the same concentration of yeast every time and enjoying more consistent results. Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch. Whitelabs has also increased the viability (the number of living cells in the package) over the shelf life of the yeast. Next Gen strains are grown in their unique, small-batch reactors to assure freshness and then packaged in a special film that allows for off-gassing, assuring that their viability is absolutely industry leading. Attenuation: 75-82% Flocculation: High Alcohol Tolerance: 8-12% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 72-98°F Cell Count: 150 Billion For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast. Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

    Straight A Cleanser

    3 reviews

Straight-A is an essentially non-foaming and environmentally sound product to remove tough soils yet protect soft metal finishes and minimize residue. It is gentler and safer than caustic-based cleaners, yet very effective at breaking down soils and removing stains. Non-corrosive and compatible with all vessels and equipment surfaces. What is Straight-A? Straight-A was developed as an environmentally sound product to remove tough soils yet protect soft metal finishes. Straight-A incorporates active oxygen for de-staining and protein disruption in addition to alkaline salts and chelating agentsto break down and disperse soils. In this way Straight-A helps to quickly and easily rinse soils away while minimizing residue. Furthermore, the oxygen content provides an additional benefit by lowering the oxygen demand of the wastewater. Straight-A’s components will readily biodegrade or revert to naturally occurring minerals over a short period oftime and the productitselfis non-hazardous and non-corrosive. Because Straight-A is essentially non-foaming when used at the recommended use concentration, it may be used in clean-in-place (CIP) systems as well as in the soak tank. Straight-A may be used on essentially all surfaces, being safe for brass, copper, aluminum, and stainless, as well as polycarbonate and vinyl. Soaking and Manual Washing: Dissolve 0.5 oz per gallon of water. If heavy soils are present, 1–2 oz will boost detergency.  CIP Cleaning: Use 0.5 oz for daily treatment of minimally soiled vessels and equipment, but for heavily soiled vessels such as fermenters, 3 oz is recommended. Heat the solution to 120–180°F and circulate for 30 minutes. Follow with a clean water rinse.

Brewelements - The Periodic Table of Brewing Ingredients +

There’s a lot to brewing. Although it’s relatively simple to learn, it can take a lifetime to master, and with all the different yeast, malts, hops, and specialty versions of each it can get more than a little complicated. This infographic is to help you understand the ingredients of brewing, brewing elements if you will, along with their unique characteristics and how they work together to make you a better brewer. It is broken into three sections, malt, hops, and yeast. Use it as a quick reference, study guide or print it out as a place mat, wall decoration, coaster, birth certificate, marriage license, the uses are endless, and we mean endless. Use this infographic periodically as a brewing reference

Do you need to refrigerate the ingredients until brew day? +

The yeast is the most important ingredient to refrigerate once you receive your order. Hops should be refrigerated after a couple days if they're left out at room temp. Hops can be frozen and will last for 2-3 years still preserving their freshness. Malt extract should be left at room temperature until brew day up to 1-2 weeks. Liquid Malt Extract can can be refrigerated but will become rock solid which requires a hot water bath to thaw out or 24 hours at room temp to re-liquify. Dried Malt Extract should be stored at room temperature. Any grains in a paper bag should be used within 2-3 days for optimum freshness especially if they are pre-milled. Grain stored in plastic bags will last a couple months un-milled. We suggest double bagging to prevent oxidation.
