A very unique Belgian Ale. This recipe has moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill includes Oats and Flaked Barley which when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost white appearance. Hence the name wit which means white. This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, like you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales and even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden or Celis White would be some commercial examples that represent this style.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

A pickle packer is an ideal tool for making fermented sauerkraut, kimchi, or other vegetables. Works well for tamping down a full jar of veggies, mashing them to release their juices, and to remove any air bubbles that may be present. The slender design allows it to be used for both wide and regular mouth mason jars. Can also be used to muddle mint leaves, citrus and spices when making cocktails.

Aerate your wort automatically with this complete aeration system. Includes compact air pump, air filter, diffusion stone, and EVABarrier tubing. This aeration system diffuses oxygen into your wort using the air around you, so there's no need to buy pure oxygen cylinders again and again. The down side is that aeration takes longer than oxygenation. Because the atmosphere is only about 20% oxygen, the diffusion stone must be left running in the wort for approximately 30–120 minutes (but even 5 minutes of aeration is better than shaking the carboy). The sterile filter will prevent contamination during this period, but you will need to monitor the fermenter periodically for possible over foaming. To clean your stainless stone, we recommend boiling it for several minutes and storing it in a zip lock bag between uses. It can clog easily with the oil in your fingers, so use gloves when attaching it to the tubing. NOTE: You will need to use hot water to soften the 4 mm x 8 mm EVABarrier tubing when attaching the stone. Needle nose pliers can help to widen the tubing, if necessary. Hose clamps won't be required once it's attached. You will also need to cut a short piece of tubing to bridge the connection from the air pump to the air filter and the air filter to the diffusion stone. You do not want the air filter to get wet or be inserted into your fermenter, so keep the air filter close to the pump. The sanitary air filter can last up to 1 year, but should be replaced if there are any signs of discoloration. Includes: CE Air Pump 15 micron sintered stainless stone with barb 0.2 micron autoclavable air filter Approximately 5 ft. of EVABarrier tubing (4mm ID x 8mm OD) KegLand Part Number: KL03926
Plate heat exchangers are one of the fastest ways to cool your wort and the Chillout is one of the best. You may have a hard time finding a more affordable counter flow wort chiller. For the homebrewer on a budget, these heat exchangers are one the fastest ways to chill wort. Similar in efficiency to the Chillout plate chiller, but much easier to clean. Plate chillers have the disadvantage of getting gunked up in their small crevasses due to trapped hop material. This unit, on the other hand, can be easily and effectively flushed after use. Copper is a great conductor of heat, making it more efficient than a stainless chiller of similar design. These units are 9" in diameter and about 7" high. The input and output are approximately 3/8" outer diameter (9.5 mm). They can be used with gravity, but we recommend using a pump. Check out the video below to learn how to set up the chiller with Duotight fittings (DUO115 & DUO116) that will allow you to attach Camlock, QD, or garden hose fittings to the inputs and outputs, and enable you to control the flow rate at the water inlet. Fittings not included. Kegland Part Number: KL02035
Our preferred method to cool, and invented by MoreBeer! customer Jamil Zainasheff. How it works: Wort travels from the kettle to a pump and back into the kettle via a short copper arm that aims the hot wort into the wall of cooling coils. This creates a flow of hot wort across the coils of your wort chiller and throughout your kettle. The movement of wort creates a fast heat exchange, and uses far less water than a traditional wort chiller.
Recirculating the wort in the same vessel allows you to continue chilling until your wort gets to the proper pitching temperature before transferring to your fermenter. Add a thermometer into your boil kettle to get consistent results every time! Start recirculation before the end of the boil so everything the wort moves through will be sanitized. Most of the chilling happens on the outside of the coil allowing for a much simpler cleanup. Comes with instructions, 2 zip ties, one hose clamp and copper re-circulation tube 1/2". This system does require the use of a pump, like our H315HF High-Temp pump.
A wort chiller will need to be purchased separately. This option works on our WC30, WC45, WC50, and WC55 only.

Many home brewing aficionados prefer to cool their wort using a Wort Chiller 5 Gallon Recirculation Package, and we couldn’t agree more. MoreBeer! customer and friend Jamil Zainasheff invented this innovative system in order to create a fast heat exchange that uses far less water than a traditional wort chiller. The wort travels from the kettle to a pump and back into the kettle through a short, copper arm that disperses the hot wort into a wall of cooling coils, cooling the wort effectively and efficiently. Because this cooling system recirculates the wort in the same vessel, you can continue to chill it until it reaches the proper temperature before transferring it into the fermenter. Simply add a thermometer to the boil kettle and you’ll be sure to get consistent results every time you use this recirculation arm. Also available in a 10 gallon size. A chiller will need to be purchased separately. This option works on our WC20, WC20A WC23, and WC23A, only. 1/2"OD, 3/8"ID 23.5" Double Bent 1/2" Copper Piece For Recirculation Chilling Bent Perpendicular 90 Degrees at 5" and 5"
In a traditional wort chiller, the coils rest on the bottom of the pot and the hot wort on top takes a very long time to reach them, making the entire process time consuming and inefficient. Our original, simple innovation for the Immersion Wort Chiller from MoreBeer! is to move the coils right to the top where the majority of the heat is. This promises to give you the fastest heat exchange possible, to cool your wort down more efficiently and to get your brew into the fermenter as quickly and cleanly as possible. There is also no need to stir during chilling which reduces contamination and allows your trub and spent hops to settle to the bottom of your kettle. The connection feeds on our chillers our bent out down at an angle so that if there is any dripping at the copper/vinyl connection point it drips out of the kettle and not back into your beer. Also works perfect with a kettle that features a notched lid. Made in the USA in our metal shop. Specs: 25' of 3/8" copper tubing 8' of vinyl tubing at both the inlet and the outlet Female garden hose adapter fitting for easy use with a garden hose spigot 10" diameter, 8" to the top coil, 15" to the bend to go over the lip of the kettle This chiller also comes in a water efficient version that uses less water.
A magnetic stir plate is a great investment to help improve the quality of your yeast starters. Aeration is an important factor in making a yeast starter, and without a stir plate you'll need to pick up and swirl your starter by hand as often as possible. The stir plate is a simple solution that will continuously aerate your starter, leading to higher numbers of viable yeast.
This compact stir plate works with Erlenmeyer flasks up to 5000mL in size. Depending on the volume of your yeast starter, you can use the adjustment knob to dial in the speed of the stir bar. We recommend using just enough power to keep yeast in suspension, a full vortex isn't really necessary.
Stir bar included.

Use this yeast nutrient as your "secret weapon" when your yeast starts to lag or you just want to ensure a vigorous ferment! Supplementing with yeast nutrients reduces lag time and give the yeast a boost during sluggish or stuck fermentations.
Wyeast Yeast Nutrient gives your yeast a great start during propagation and provides the nutrients needed to maintain a healthy, active ferment: a blend of vitamins, minerals, inorganic & organic nitrogen, zinc, phosphates, and other trace elements that will benefit yeast growth and complete fermentation.
To use, simply dissolve in warm water and add the solution to your kettle 10-15 minutes before the end of the boil. Use ½ tsp (2.2 grams) per 5 gallons (19 liters) of wort.
Wyeast Yeast Nutrient will remain stable for 1 year if stored in an airtight container in a cool environment.
