Need to de-gas a carboy full of wine? Say goodbye to swirling your wine for 10 minutes by hand! “The Whip” Wine Degasser will have it done in no time!
De-gas your wines quickly and easily with this lightweight, drill mounted degassing rod for wines. It features a plastic shaft with an offset ""hook"" for quickly degassing wines.
To use, mount the sanitized degassing rod on an electric drill. Insert through the neck of the carboy, and the slowly increase the speed of the drill. Reduce the speed or stop as the bubbles come out of solution. As the bubbles subside, you can begin again. Repeat until large amount of bubbles stop coming out of solution. Take care to keep the spinning wings submerged, you do not want to agitate the surface of the wine and oxidize it.
Lightweight inexpensive no more swirling for 10 minutes by hand!
This carboy thermowell is used in conjunction with the Digital Controller, FE601A, FE610A, or FE602, to more accurately regulate internal temperature during fermentation. It is exceptionally useful during the start of fermentation when the lag between ambient temperature in the refrigerator and actual temperature in the carboy can vary greatly. Now you can keep your beer or wine within one degree of the set point on your digital controller. Designed to fit either 3, 5 or 6 gallon PLASTIC carboys or any other similarly sized opening hole. The unit comes with a 15" stainless steel thermowell and a #10 silicone stopper that will accommodate our sanitary filter, FIL90, as well. It can be used in any container with a stopper opening of this size where you need to accurately monitor and control liquid temperature. Will not work with Johnson Temperature Controllers (FE60 or FE61) because the probes are too large. Need a thermowell for a glass carboy? See related product. Inner Diameter of Thermowell: .255" Works with new 2016 Rancos
#8 stopper - solid. Top diameter 1.59 inches (40.5 mm), bottom diameter 1.31 inches (33 mm), length 1 inch (25 mm).
BPA-free stopper made of food grade materials. Injection molded TPE for superior consistency throughout. Perfect for use with carboys, as the material sticks well to glass and PET, even when wet.
To create a solid stopper, simply use a #000 solid stopper (FE400) to plug the hole.
Max. Temperature Rating: 158 °F (70 °C).

Serve beer on tap at home! A quality CO2 tank is a core component to any home draft system.
Fill at a local welding shop or swap out for a full tank at your local homebrew shop

Speidel has developed a stainless steel fermenting egg that combines the advantages of the egg shape with the advantages of a stainless steel tank and a unique design. The Black Eye looks like a space satellite from the outside and provides a gentle and well controllable fermentation inside. Due to its unique shape, the yeast can circulate smoothly during the fermentation phase. In science it is assumed that this free circulation is an advantage for the fermentation process and thus for the entire aroma spectrum. Thanks to the perfect welding seams and the highly smooth inner walls, the fermenting chamber is also very easy to clean.

Grow your own 2-row malting barley next to your hops for a great aesthetic look, or learn to malt barley at home and grow all of your own beer ingredients right in your back yard!

1.8° L - Briess Brewers 2-Row is a fantastic base malt that can be used for all beer styles. Briess 2-row contributes a clean, sweet, and slightly malty character along with a light straw color. Briess Brewers Malt is malted in Wisconsin in small batches and is an excellent fit for all ales. Use this the same as you would any 2 row base malt and expect amazing results in your glass. Briess is an American malting company that is vertically integrated with seed facilities, barley collection facilities, and direct relationships with farmers in the state of Wyoming. In this region malt is flood irrigated so that it does not have to rely on rainfall. This has the benefits of quality and consistency for you the brewer. Malt that is flood irrigated is lighter in color since the barley heads see very little rain. The flood irrigation is also consistent and reliable so Briess sees less variability in their malt from year to year. MoreBeer! visited the Briess malting facilities in Wisconsin and this is a true American company that is still privately held by the Briess family. The late Roger Briess was a huge supporter of homebrewing and attended and sponsored homebrewing events. Yes we like the malt and also the company! 1.9 L - Rahr - Rahr Malting Co - A great base malt from the Northwest made from Harrington and Metcalf barley grown in the USA and malted in Minnesota at the Rahr malt house. Well modified and perfect for single infusion mashes. Clean flavor with a nice, floral aroma with a sweet taste make Rahr 2-row a fast growing malt of choice for many commercial brewers. Try this in your next beer and see the difference. Experience the 3G Difference
Reduce Staling & Improve Shelf Life — A null-lox malt bred without lipoxygenase enzymes, preventing the oxidative reactions that cause staling. Reduced DMS — Contains up to 60% less S-methylmethionine (SMM), reducing DMS potential for cleaner flavor and enabling faster, more efficient boils. Amazing Flavor — Clean, crisp, and balanced. In blind tastings, brewers consistently preferred it to other 2-row base malts. Versatile — Highly modified for easy conversion and kilned like a pilsner malt for an extra-light 1.7–1.9 °L color, making it ideal for everything from lagers to hop-forward ales. Real innovation in base malt is rare. Viking 3G Xtra Pale represents a revolutionary step forward, engineered to give you a distinct advantage in quality, efficiency, and cost. This premium European malt uses naturally bred, null-LOX barley that actively prevents oxidative staling, keeping your beer fresher, longer. We’ve also engineered it with up to 60% less SMM (the precursor to DMS), ensuring a cleaner, purer flavor profile while enabling faster, more energy-efficient boils. The result? A superior, brewer-preferred malt that delivers the performance of a premium import at the price of a domestic. Stand out without driving up costs. 1.9 °L - Viking Malt - Xtra Pale is a modern 2-row base malt designed for very light-colored ales. While it works great as the base malt for any ale, it is particularly perfect for today’s extra light colored pale ales and IPAs. Xtra pale is germinated like a pale malt to have a high degree of modification for easy brew house conversion. However, it is then uniquely Kilned like a pilsner malt for a very light color in the 1.7 to 1.9 Lovibond range. The result is a malt that easily and quickly converts like a true pale ale malt, but is as light or lighter than most Pilsner malts. Morebeer! Pro worked with Viking to design this malt based on numerous customer requests. Unique light-colored barley varietals were chosen and the germination and kilning processes were selected to get the best of both worlds. Compared to other 2-row base malts on the market that were originally designed for big breweries, and are neither true Pilsner or true Pale Malts, Xtra Pale was specifically designed for light, craft-brewed ales. Shaun is known for creating beers that are well-balanced while doing some unique things, such as using watermelon juice in a wheat beer, or oyster shells in an oatmeal stout. His Assistant brewer Jesse created this beer, an easy-drinking pale ale with few bittering hops but giant fistfuls of flavor and aroma hops. This beer has low alcohol and a soft malt backbone with an incredible hop finish - your answer to the hop shortage! Jesse and Shaun recommend using WLP001.
Shaun O'Sullivan of the 21st Amendment, San Francisco, California
Shaun's brewing career started like most in the beer industry - homebrewing. While working at a Southern California law firm, Shaun was spending his time making beers at home. After about 2 years, he not only decided that he wanted to make beer for a living, but that he wanted to open his own place! Shaun moved up to the SF Bay Area to start working at a few local breweries, while taking several brewing courses at UC Davis. Shaun eventually teamed up with his business partner Nicco Freccia, and together, they founded the 21st Amendment Brewery and Restaurant. They are one of the few breweries in the country leading the craft beer canning revolution, canning their "Brew Free or Die" IPA, and their "Hell or High Watermelon", which is an American-style Wheat beer brewed with real watermelon juice. When in San Francisco, visit Shaun at the brewery (563 2nd Street), which is just two blocks from Giants park.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
Imagine a brewing pump that eliminates cavitation, is easy to clean, has a built in valve, and is quiet. Introducing The RipTide pump from Blichmann, the first pump designed specifically for homebrewing.
We love this brew pump. Like a brewer wired on coffee, let us rattle off some of our favorite features. First, the pull style relief valve that allows air to exit the pump head so the impeller won't cavitate is a genius addition. Our next favorite feature is the bad-ass, built-in flow control valve so you don't have to add additional ball-valves. While we dont manually clean our pumps very often we like the idea that we can easily do that with the clover clamp style connection. That might be particularly important if you are transferring cool wort where extra sanitation might make a difference. Equally cool is the noise, or lack thereof, when operating. It just wears on you to hear your pump grinding away all day. The RipTide pump isn't silent, but it is much quieter. And to top it all off we like the mounting base and the extra long 3 m cord. 3 m gets the plug connection a few meters away from where we are brewing and less likely to be exposed to water - a simple upgrade that is really nice. Oh, and we almost forgot the power switch which is always a nice feature on something electric!
All in all this is a no brainer upgrade for the difference in cost.
