  • Kit (Extract) - Craig's Travelin' Man Ale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Craig's Travelin' Man Ale - PLACEHOLDER

Travelin Man Pale Ale by Craig | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    4 reviews

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! A quintessential example of the Pale Ale style, this recipe perfectly balances malt and hop character Includes Cascade and Northern Brewer hops Estimated ABV: 5.2% Estimated IBUs: 29-33 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Craig has been perfecting his Travelin Man recipe over the years by brewing for competitions and for his own consumption at home. Travelin Man is at the high end of the pale ale guidelines, with a nice balance between the malt and hops. This is a great beer to let cold condition. Cold conditioning brings forward the malt flavors and makes it even easier drinking. Craig created this beer to take the edge off a long day of driving on the southern California freeway system and as his house ale. So whether you have been to the East or just feel like someone has given you the third degree, this fine ale will deliver what you are looking for. Craig recommends using White Labs California Ale Yeast. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.052-56 SRM (Color Range): 11 IBUs: 29-33 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.2%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.   Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

  • Low stock! Kit (Extract) - King Ghidorah IPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - King Ghidorah IPA - PLACEHOLDER

E.J. Phair Brewing Company King Ghidorah IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

This BrewMaster Series kit was developed in collaboration with the brewmasters at E.J. Phair Brewing Company A clean malt profile with very low bitterness and packed with hop aroma from multiple dry hop additions Includes Citra®, Multihead, Idaho Gem™, and Cashmere hops Estimated ABV: 6.6% Estimated IBUs: 11 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Bow down and tremble homebrewer, for you are in the presence of a king! This 30-story tall liquid kaiju will singe your senses with multiple Multihead additions, culminating in a tropical gravity beam blast of guava and melon. Survive this opening assault and you’ll be hit with an Idaho Gem™ thunder spark of pineapple, and then swept away by hurricane winds of Cashmere lemon/lime and stone fruit. Just as King Ghidora is not limited to a single ferocious maw, you’ll be hard-pressed to have but a single pour of this juicy, tropical brew. Without a ragtag ensemble of advorseries spearheaded by Godzilla himself, King G will reign over your beer rotation till he ultimately brings about the Earth’s next extinction-level event and moves on to another planet victim. King Ghidora was brewed in collaboration with our Pittsburg, CA neighbors, E.J. Phair Brewing Company.  It features a clean malt profile of light DME with a touch of white wheat for head retention. With only a quarter ounce of Citra® added late in the boil, this beer shows very little bitterness and lets the flavor and aroma hops do the talking. The first dry hop addition is added to the fermenter before transferring wort from the kettle. Although this isn't a Hazy IPA, the beer will have a slight permanent haze due to biotransformation, which occurs when yeast interact with hop oils during primary fermentation. • Kit (Extract) - The Mosaic Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - The Mosaic Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER

The Mosaic® Single Hop Experiment | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    7 reviews

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals Includes a small bittering addition of Magnum and three 2 oz additions of your chosen hop for late boil and at dry hopping Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 35 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: Ultralight malt extract, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out! • Kit (Extract) - Symons Galaxy - Australian Sparkling Ale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Symons Galaxy - Australian Sparkling Ale - PLACEHOLDER

Imperiale Beer Project Symons Galaxy Australian Sparkling Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Imperiale Beer Project Light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics Includes 100% Galaxy hops Estimated ABV: 4.4% Estimated IBUs: 21 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer It's a big brewing world out there, make sure you see as much of it as possible! Australian Sparkling Ale is one of those mysterious beer styles that a lot of us had never sampled (or even heard of, really). But its light, easy-drinking body paired up with delicious hop-forward flavors and aromatics make it an outstanding, sessionable brew. Pilsner dominates the malt profile with a dash of White Wheat and Carapils for body and mouthfeel, allowing the hop combination of Galaxy and Strata to really pop. Similar to how the best view of the Milky Way is on a moonless night in the Outback, these hops are on gorgeous display as post boil and dry hop additions, with very little bitterness to cloud the citrus, tropical, and cannabis character they impart. Symons Galaxy was first brewed at Imperiale Beer Project in Brentwood, CA as part of a virtual collaboration with Australian beer historian, Peter Symons. Who better to have at your side (albeit through the computer screen) than the gentleman who literally wrote the BJCP guidelines for the style? This collaborative effort resulted in a unique, modern take on the ASA style—introducing Strata, a non-Australian hop, into the mix to complement the heavy additions of Galaxy hops. Symons Galaxy was a smash hit, and is sure to satisfy any hop head out there. For great reads on historic Australian beers and other topics, check out Peter's collection of books here. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.038-43 SRM (Color Range): 3 IBUs: 21 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 4.4% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Spicy flavor and firm bitterness supported by a velvety-smooth body Includes Magnum and Columbus hops Estimated ABV: 6.6% Estimated IBUs: 40-44 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer You've never had this beer before, and, until very recently, neither had we. Imagine: a sexy, red color, spicy flavor, velvety-smooth body, terrific head, plus an aroma you could eat, all wrapped up with a firm bitterness. How did we do it? The creative shotgun approach! Continually throw enough stuff into the mix and, eventually, you score a win like this one. We started with a basic recipe similar to our famous Irish Red, but added Rye as well. A brash move? You bet! But we didn't stop there. We've added Magnum and Columbus hops everywhere, including into the carboy for dry hopping. If you want to go for a Home Run, add 1oz of the included French Oak chips after the first week of fermentation. Proper Sake Co. White Koji Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Proper Sake Co. An incredibly crushable light pale ale made with White Koji. Refreshing and citrusy Includes Cascade and Huell Melon hops Estimated ABV: 5.5% Estimated IBUs: 12 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Whether you're in constant search of new ways to push the "traditional boundaries" of brewing, or you're just looking for another crushable crowd pleaser to add to your arsenal of recipes, Proper Sake's White Koji Ale is the beer for you. As the name implies, this recipe is crafted around the specialty ingredient of White Koji. Koji is a staple ingredient in the fermentation processes for sake, soy sauce, miso, and more. But White Koji, in particular, is gaining ground as a new brewing ingredient which can impart a beautiful citric acidity in the final beer. This recipe from Proper Sake Co. results in an incredibly crushable light pale ale with a slight haze in the glass. The malt character will hang in the background as Cascade and Huell Melon support the overall refreshing, citrusy quality enhanced by the White Koji. Our friends at Proper Sake Co. are specialists in Kimoto and Yamahai sake production—and have been known to apply their fermentation knowledge to a beer or two. Next time you find yourself in Nashville, TN, pop into Rice Vice bar to sample from their amazing selection of sake.

    2 reviews

This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: 2-Row, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Phantasm Powder has been causing quite a stir on the craft beer scene, and the buzz is well deserved. Adding this powder to your wort and fermenting it with a thiolized yeast strain is one of the easiest ways to boost tropical flavor and aroma in your finished beer. Derived from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Grapes, this powder will add a concentrated dose of thiol precursors. During fermentation, yeast will go to work on these aroma compounds and "free the thiol", boosting the tropical bouquet of your beer to supernatural levels. We're stoked to get this cutting-edge ingredient into the hands of homebrewers so we designed a series of Phantasm recipe kits that will set you up to take full advantage of brewing with Phantasm Powder. Our Phantasm Hazy Pale Ale features a 50/50 split of New Zealand and Pacific Northwest aroma hop additions that lean into a tropical, citrusy character that will pair perfectly with Phantasm Powder. Since this kit series is all about the thiols, we start with whole cone Cascade in the mash to further increase the thiol precursors. Add the Phantasm Powder at flameout along with your whirlpool / hop stand additions. For maximum effect, we highly recommend choosing a thiolized yeast strain for fermentation which are specifically designed to boost thiol biotransformation. Puttin' on the Spritz! There's a new style on the scene that has everyone tapping their toes, and we're excited to bring you a beer from the man who started the tune. In our latest addition to the BrewMaster Series lineup we have one of the original Brut IPA's - Puttin' on the Spritz! This hybrid IPA is the brainchild of Kim Sturdavant of Social Kitchen & Brewery in San Francisco, California. We first met Kim on our journey to brew with and understand the amyglucosidase enzyme (the signature ingredient responsible for a Brut's dry character). Kim, being the stand-up fella that he is, was kind enough to not only share his knowledge of the AMG enzyme, but also the very recipe that shook up the brew scene and inspired countless iterations of the style. Despite its dry character, Puttin' on the Spritz is sneaky drinkable with a thirst-quenching profile. El Dorado and Mosaic® hops impart tart citrus and tropical fruit notes, while a malt bill primarily featuring pilsner DME and flaked corn makes for an ultra-clean finish with almost no caramel or overt malty flavors. Crisp, dry, clean, crushable. Curious about Brut IPA's? Check out There and Back Again, A Brut IPA Tale! In this article, our own Vito Delucchi takes us along on his quest to unlock the mysteries of the amyloglucosidase enzyme and discover the best methods for brewing Brut IPA's. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

  • Low stock! Kit (Extract) - Firestone Walker Hopnosis Cold IPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Firestone Walker Hopnosis Cold IPA - PLACEHOLDER

Firestone Walker Brewing Company Hopnosis Cold IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

This Brewmaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with Firestone Walker Brewing Company One of the newest takes on the IPA style—Cold IPAs are highly hopped but fermented cold with a lager strain Includes Simcoe®, Callista, Talus®, Mosaic Cryo®, El Dorado, Idaho #7, Cashmere, Nelson, and Riwaka™ hops Estimated ABV: 6.7% Estimated IBUs: 50 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A new way to IPA! Firestone Walker's Hopnosis IPA represents one of the tastiest examples of a new beer style that is quickly gaining ground—Cold IPA. These beers feature the massive hopping schedules you'd expect from an IPA but are then fermented cold with a lager strain. This gives the beer a clean, crisp and crushable profile while allowing the hops to be on full display.  From the top of the boil to the final post fermentation dry hop, you'll find a long list of delicious hop varieties from the U.S. and New Zealand. One of the standouts is Mosaic® Cryo Hops® which are used as the biotransformation dry hop addition. Prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by Hopnosis IPA's explosion of tropical fruit flavors including mango, passionfruit, white grape, and lychee. What Firestone Walker Has to Say About Hopnosis: In early 2022, we launched Hopnosis as our next-generation West Coast-style IPA. Now the time has come to embrace an even more accurate stylistic moniker for Hopnosis: Cold IPA. While IPAs are typically fermented with ale yeasts, cold IPAs like Hopnosis are fermented with lager yeasts. Remember that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, so fermenting an IPA with lager yeasts signifies a break with tradition. “When you use a lager yeast to ferment an IPA, you get a cleaner and less ester-driven aroma profile,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The colder fermentation also creates a lighter backbone that helps accentuate the bright, tropical hops we’re using. So while Hopnosis offers a lot of things you love in a straight-ahead West Coast IPA, the lager yeast is what pushes it toward the Cold IPA style.” As a result, Hopnosis rings all the bells of a Cold IPA: crisp and crushable, with a clean hop profile. The New Zealand Nelson Sauvin Single Hop Experiment | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

This beer has low alcohol and a soft malt backbone with an incredible hop finish - your answer to the hop shortage! Jesse and Shaun recommend using WLP001.  Shaun O'Sullivan of the 21st Amendment, San Francisco, California Shaun's brewing career started like most in the beer industry - homebrewing. While working at a Southern California law firm, Shaun was spending his time making beers at home. After about 2 years, he not only decided that he wanted to make beer for a living, but that he wanted to open his own place! Shaun moved up to the SF Bay Area to start working at a few local breweries, while taking several brewing courses at UC Davis. Shaun eventually teamed up with his business partner Nicco Freccia, and together, they founded the 21st Amendment Brewery and Restaurant. They are one of the few breweries in the country leading the craft beer canning revolution, canning their "Brew Free or Die" IPA, and their "Hell or High Watermelon", which is an American-style Wheat beer brewed with real watermelon juice. • Kit - (All Grain) - The Chinook Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER Kit - (All Grain) - The Chinook Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER

The Chinook Single Hop Experiment | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

    1 review

Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out! Estimated Original Gravity:1.049-54 SRM (Color Range): 7-8 IBU's: 35 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All grains will come milled, unless you select unmilled base malts.

Sugar-based fermentations lack the natural nutrients found in beer and wine. This kit pairs Flash Yeast with CellarScience Dynamo 800, a nutrient formulated specifically for seltzer fermentation. Dynamo 800 supplies the nitrogen yeast need to ferment efficiently in sugar-only environments, supporting a clean-fermenting process that helps minimize the risk of sulfur, fusel alcohols, and other off-flavors. Fermentation can finish in as few as 5 days. Flash Brewing® Kits Introducing MoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing® Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home. Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing® eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing® malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you. If you want to read more about the development of Flash Brewing® at MoreBeer! or have more questions please read our Frequently Asked Questions. Equipment Required for Flash Brewing® Flash Brews can be fermented in any wide mouth 3-gallon fermenter you already own. We suggest a wide mouth fermenter so you can easily pour in the ingredients.
