DAP, with no urea. It's like Red Bull for your yeast.

Does the job and a little goes a long way.

As far as I can tell so far, this is helping keep those yeast active and fermenting in the Meads.

Almost without exception I do a starter to get my yeast counts up. I don't do it without Yeast nutrient, A pinch of DAP in a 1 liter makes for happy healthy yeast

Not only do I use it for yeast starters and stepped nutrition in meads, but DAP can be used to make Belgian candy syrup

I haven't found this necessary for beer but it benefits Mead fermentation

I use this stuff for my brewday, but also in my yeast starters. It's like crack for yeast, they go off.

I add DAP to all of my mead & agave fermentations. Works great for increasing the available Nitrogen.

I might even feed yeast too, but you can cook sugar with it to make a might fine syrup for Belgians

I make a lot of mead and use DAP as part of the staggered nutrient addition. This helps turn a batch around in a couple months rather than years.I also add it to any wine and have used it as a source of nitrogen in homemade candy syrup.

I have to agree with Jason R on this one. I haven't really seen any advantage to using this.

Addition of DAP will give your yeast the boost they need to sustain fermentation in harsh conditions. Normal fermentations don't really need it though - save it for the high gravity and low nutrient fermentations. I stagger DAP nutrient additions for all my meads (as well as Fermaid K)..

I've used this but honestly haven't seen a difference. The liquid yeasts are very healthy these days, and with a good mash and water profile I haven't had problems.

There are more expensive yeast nutrients but this always works great for me. Did not notice any difference with the more expensive stuff
