Weldless Sight Gauge (Stainless) - 20 in.

    Description

    The Fermentap Weldless Sight Gauge features a glass sight gauge encased in a chrome-plated sheath. All metal parts in contact with the beer are 100% stainless steel, and the gasket is a high temp, food-grade material. You will need to drill a 1" hole in your kettle. This sight gauge features our new Fermentap Bulkhead, which is a beefy bulkhead with a full port hole. This means that you can actually upgrade this setup with a thermometer which will thread into the body, allowing you to check temperature and fluid level off the same upgrade!


    Features:

    • 20" Sight Gauge is perfect for up to 30 gallon kettles(dependent upon dimensions!).
    • Monitor liquid level visually without opening up your kettle! Extremely useful for HLTs on the top tier of a sculpture.
    • Stainless construction means the product will last for years.
    • Sight Gauge disassembles easily for cleaning.
    • 1/2" FPT on sight gauge base means you can upgrade with a thermometer!

        Site glass a must

        Water measurement is a must for accurate sugar content in beer. I could spend a good hour on importance of water grain ratio, but simply put the site glass on your hot liquor tank is a great tool to accomplish this. I strongly recommend that brewers consider this measuring tool. It will make your brew day much easier with increased consistent outcomes.

        How does this sight gauge indicate or measure the volume? Are there markers on the glass?

        instead of putting a thermometer can i put a ball valve there instead? i'd like to use it on the brewzilla 35L where the ball valve is on the side and then have the ball valve screw into this. would that work or would the ball valve no longer be available to use?

        Putting a ball valve in line with a sight glass will not work perfectly especially when using a pump. When the valve is open the sight glass will lose volume sooner and faster than the pot. When using a pump this may even suck in air to the pump head.
