My only complaint is that the barb is so tight I couldn't get the hose on it very far. The barb part itself is pretty sharp so having a lot of it not covered by hose could cut someone eventually. The barb on the one I received is far longer than the one in the picture (more than 4 "rings" on it)

This fitting is just what I expected. It was difficult to get into the hose, but that has nothing to do with the fitting.
