I've practically given up on Spiedel. The fermenter has so many nooks and crannies that cleaning well takes forever. The proprietary cork supplied for the bubbler is too big and keeps coming off, requiring duct tape and the lid doesn't seal well and never has. I like to see my beer fermenting too. The handles are nice, as is the large size and sturdiness, hence the 3 rating.

Thanks, I have two Speidel fermenters. They work great.Perhaps an important note is to recognize that the gasket needs to be inserted into the small curved opening at the edge of the flat portion of the lid rim. If you try to put it on top of the lid with the separate ring overlapping, it doesn't create a tight seal or work very effectively.

Had to replace my old one because on an infected batch.

Recommend it! Necessary if original breaks, to keep air tight seal.
