I bought this without knowing anything about ph meters, and was happy Morebeer recommended the storage solution. As many have said, mine came a bit dry and had crystals in the cap. Kind of hard to avoid if you ask me, but I re-hydrated with the storage solution and then did a 3 point calibration with no problem. Immediately tested distilled water and got the expected ph, and used on my first brew day since I got it and it worked well.I'm not certain the typical protocol, but I found taking a small sample of the mash or boiling wort into a glass jar (not a large sample) and letting it cool just slightly was better than dunking it in boiling wort or hot mash.I'm pretty sure if you take care of this, keep some storage solution in the sealed cap, it will last as much as you need.I did notice, that I got the very best results, especially during calibration, if you religiously rinse the probe with distilled water between each test.

I used the Beverage Doctor pH meter for the first time recently. It was easy to calibrate and measure pH. It was very accurate and close to the Beer Smith estimated mash pH.

The first one I got had some problems, but More,Beer sent me another one and I sent the first one back today. Great customer service. I will buy from them again.

Only used once so far. Easy to calibrate and seems accurate. Definitely more accurate than what I was using (nothing).

Finally had a chance to use the Beverage Doctor Ph meter this past weekend. IT was very accurate as compared with the 4.0 and 7.0 solutions. My previous Ph meter died just before brew day, so I had to trust my recipe for my additions, and pray to the beer Gods.So I also ordered the replacement electrode for the Beverage Doctor Ph meter... just in case.

No more need to mess with test stripes anymore! This super awesome meter is convenient to quickly and accurately measure temperature and PH.

Calibrated and it worked really well to see what my mash ph came in at.

I was very pleased how my order was handled. I received the pH meter, well packaged and upon Checking the suppliers operating instructions and maintenance info was very pleased with the purchase. I expect to be using it in a few months with the grape crushing and fermentation process.

The first meter I received was defective. I would not calibrate as per instructions it indicated the prob was bad. I asked MoreBeer to send me another prob. They stepped up and sent me another meter! The second one calibrated just fine at all calibration levels. So, hats off and a big thank you to customer service for their speed and generosity! I'm going to use the meter for wine making. Due to the design of the meter. It requires that the prob be stored in a storage solution, which I ordered with the meter. Unfortunately, it has a shelf life.. ie. it evaporates and crystallizes on the prob. So, MoreBeer should have a better inventory control and make sure the probs don't dry up. It would save them money by not having to replace the prob or whole meter. The second meter that was sent to me had dried up, I cleaned up the prob and let it set in storage solution overnight before I tested it and it payed off because it calibrated just fine. Easy to calibrate and use

Like the fact I can get replaceable probes. Calibration was easy too.

The Beverage Doctor pH meter is more robust and easier to calibrate than others I have used. It helps me to monitor the quality of my mash water, wort, sanitizers and cleaning solutions.

I bought this PH meter after watching a video. I calibrated per the video instructions and have used to monitor PH for on batch of beer so far.

I’m only giving this item a three star rating because it is my second meter and it is still not 100% accurate. After receiving the first meter that could not be calibrated, more beer stood behind their word and sent me a brand new one for free and fast! That is customer service at its best!Unfortunately while better than its predecessor, the new meter still is off. I used the packet of 4ph powder provided in de ionized water and it read 4.17 at 35°c. According to the packet of powder it is not correct. I also used my old Milwaukee meter and a separate thermometer to test the solution. The Milwaukee meter read 3.9-4 ph and my thermometer read about 3-5 degrees warmer. Oh well at least I know how far off it is and can adjust my readings. I wish it was working properly as advertised. I do enjoy that it has an on off button as well as the auto off feature. My old meter I had to hold the slide trigger on top to read the ph, that was annoying.

Previously went cheap on a pH meter that gave out durin the beginning of harvest. I rushed to get this one and I am very pleased. Definitely worth the money.

I recommended this meter. Easy to calibrate (buy the extra set of calibration liquid). Tested pH both hot and at room temp, and it read the same. I also recommend buying an extra tip, just in case, and storage solution, as you’ll need it eventually.

the on my way to measure pH I brewing is with a good meter. Tape is not accurate enough to be practical. This is the first portable meter that is accurate and well priced that also allows for probe replacement. The first thing to fail on cheap meters is the probe set. So far so good with this one andI habe a spare probe waiting if it fails.
