    Use this fitting to convert 1.5" tri-clamp to Female Quick Disconnect. This fitting is extremely useful when transferring wort from your brew kettle to a stainless fermenter with tri-clamp connections. If you already use male QDs on your transfer tubing, simply connect to this female QD x tri-clamp fitting, rather than having a specific length of transfer tubing with quick disconnect on one end and barbed T.C. fitting on the other.

        Do these shut off flow when disconnected?

        No these quick connects do not stop flow when disconnected. They simply make a coupling when connected and disconnect the coupling when disconnected.

        The hose barb quick disconnect shank is too long for the Forge Fit disconnect female QD what do you recommend?

        At one time I had 3 of these and I was only able to force one of my generic male QDs to connect. I ended up returning all of them. Unfortunately MoreBeer doesn't seem to sell the Forge Fit male QDs. I ended up using either TC to NPT type connections (and then used regular NPT QDs) or switched to a barb-TC connection on my hose.

        Assuming you aren’t using forge fit to forge fit connections- I found that with a little more force I was able to connect my generic qd to the female forgefit tc

        I recently bought two of these TC female QDs but just now found that my male QDs won't lock into them. Any one else have this problem?
