I attached this duotight fitting to a barbed shank, causing beer to leak on the connection. Luckily, these adapters can easily be removed and re-resealed. Make sure the tailpiece on your shank is duotight compatible. Great product.
I have found a multitude of uses for these reducers. They essentially convert 1/4-inch tubing to 8mm EVAbarrier tubing. For example, I used them to convert my WilliamsWarn Counter Pressure Bottle Filler to 8mm DuoTight and EVAbarrier.
Love me some duotight
Does what is supposed to do. Hold on to the faucet shank stem as well as the Kegland style plastic ball lock stems. Used the ball lock stems on the back of the Komos kegerator for gas.
I bought some of these for my new KegLand counter pressure bottle filler and couldn't be happier. They attached easily and haven't leaked even after detaching & reattaching them several times.
This seems like it will be a good product and I plan to switch my connections to duotight. However, the product that was sent along with my EVA 8 mm OD tubing that II ordered did not fit. It did fit on the shank properly, but was much too large on the other end for the EVA tubing that was in the same order. I suspect that I was sent the wrong size connecter because both the product description and the EVA tubing description state that this should work. I ended up using stepless clamps this time, but do plan to switch.
Just pushing the tubing in and your are done connecting this duothig fittings. Love it.
No complaints..does what its supposed to do
Duotight fittings make setting up your kegerator a breeze
This connects the Intertap faucets to the EVA 4mm lines. This is basically a reducer to run the EVA lines. It works as advertised but make sure you buy a extra because if you make a mistake and have to pull the adapter out, the prongs break easily. It's cheap enough to have extras laying around just in case.
I purchased this to install 2 intertap gooseneck shanks into a 2.5" draft tower 90 degrees apart at the same height.
These work fantastic on Duotight compatible shank tail piece and other fittings such as the ball lock carbonation cap FE133. When installing it takes a very firm push, and you should hear and feel the click as the Duotight barbs engage the scribed line.
I've used this connection to connect my beer line running to my tap straight to the liquid tube of my Blichmann Beer Gun! Though I can still yank it off with some force, the connection is 'beer-tight' as I bottle beer from my standard keg beer line.
Installed in the tower of my kegerator system. No leaks. Very easy to operate and to change when the time comes. No tools needed! Highly recommend.
Was having problems feeding 8 MM OD EVABarrier draft line onto barbed Intertap standard barbed shank. This solved the problem and was super easy to install!
Perfect fit. Made changing lines fast and easy.
Easy to use and install
How far up should the Duotight reducer be pushed on the Intertap shank ? I believe I pushed mine as far up as it can go but it did not reach or cover the "groove" in the shank. I do not see any leaks. Should I push it up further?
I recently bought 4 of these to use on the 4" Nukatap faucet shank - Item #D1247 - https://www.morebeer.com/products/intertap-beer-shank-stainless-steel-4.html - but they would not fit over the barb. Can you recommend a replacement barb that would work with these fittings or a DuoTight fitting that would work with the barbs?
Does this work with any shank? Or does it have to be duo tight shank
It does not work with normal tailpiece connections (hose barb). It must be Duotight compatible.
Hi Jeff it does have to be a duo tight shank. There's a small lip where the fitting catches as opposed to a regular barbed shank.
It works with my intertap faucet spring loaded not sure about others.
I used it on a barb style shank but I cut off the barbed section with a dremel first. After cutting there was just enough straight length left to use the duotight adapter. YMMV but mine's been working fine for years.
Does this connection work on a smooth stainless steel 1/4” beer tower or does it need a groove to keep from sliding off?
I think this should work on a smooth fitting as the dual o-rings inside the fitting provide some pressure against the tubing but the internal metal barbs may not be as effective for holding it on as they would be if there was a groove.
Smooth. It's a press on fit.
Would this connection work on the liquid tube of the Blichmann Beer Gun?
i use the hose that came with the beer gun in may pop off. Kegland has a fix for the thermowell you might take a look at
Hi Michael we recommend using EVABarrier 8 mm OD Tubing with this fitting.
