        Boost my barley Wine

        Put this in my Barley Wine and have a Gravity over 9%. Next Barley Wine I make will have this sugar

        Unrefined sugar

        Perfect for darker beers that could benefit from the slight molasses flavor. I found it did not impact major coloring on the amber beer wort. Slightly larger crystals vs. Turbinado so I would recommend dissolving in only warm/hot water.

        Would this be a good sugar for a Scottish Export?

        This sugar would be a great way to boost the gravity and add ester to your Scottish Export. The flavor is going to be more rich than a plain white sugar.

        I used this for a Pumpkin Ale and it added a nice sweetness. I can’t say for sure for a Scottish Export but I would think the sweetness levels would be similar.
