Great value
I fermented a Fest Bier with 2 packets of this yeast, I pitched this at about 48 degrees and fermented at 50 degrees, fermentation started withing 12 hours, was vigorous and the beer finished as calculated at 1.010 from an O.G. of 1.059. Samples tasted excellent, and the beer is still lagering, I'll bottle in a couple of weeks. Impressed with this yeast.

Nice Clean Lager Fermentation
I used this yeast in a German Pilsner with great results. The beer had a nice clean fermentation and was exactly what I expected out of this yeast strain. The larger than industry standard yeast count and lower price makes this a good value for a lager beer.

Great house German lager yeast
I prefer to brew 15 gallon German lager yeast batches. Was getting tired of building up yeast starters from single pouches of liquid yeast over the span of a week before brew day. I opted for the 500 gram pack and split into (5) 100 gram vacuum sealed pouches that I keep in my fridge. 2 hours before pitching into wort, sprinkle 100g into 2L of 1.040 SG DME starter and this combination has provided me with a rip roaring fermentation within 6 hours of pitching into 15 gallons of 1.060 oxygenated wort. Ferments clean and crisp. Also, it's less than half the price of name brand 34/70. Bye bye liquid yeast...

I brewed a Munich Helles and use this yeast. It did very well in the cold fermentation temperatures between 34-38 degrees and after a month the beer came out fantastic with an ABV of 6.4. I’m washing it and starting my own culture of it.

Worked great
Made a 1 qt starter with 1 pkg. Followed with 600 mils of the wort for 24 hours. Got a great pitch, active in 6 hours.

Hot Ferments The Same As W34/70
100% pilsner - 30 minute mash, 30 minute boil -- with current grains, DMS is a myth.Fermented at 65* with no pressure and it was done in 5 days, raised temp to 70* for 2 days. Dropped crystal clear after 2.5 weeks in the keg with no finings added. This yeast is perfect for quick lagers at ale temps.

Great! Fast and clean fermentation on a large scale.
Pitched 2-500g packs into a 16bbl of 11P wort at 52F. Fermented out clean and fast. Cleaned it up at 63F with little diacetyl and sulphur production.

Would I get the benefit of no pre-oxygenation at pitching if I use this as a starter?
Keith Wiehrs
Absolutely, Just after transferring my chilled wort into my fermenter and giving a stir, I add it right on top. There may be a lag phase for about a day, but afterwards, no issues and it ferments fully and clean!
