Arrived fast in strong packaging and all prices in tact. Really nice classy looking bottle.
Bought these for a belgian golden strong I brewed and wanted to share/store some. I haven't bottled in a while but it went great. Happy to see Morebeer packaged these very well and didn't have a single broken bottle.
Just what the doctor ordered.
These bottles are exaclty as described, thcker than a normal long neck and a regular 26mm cap fits them. If you are thinking about using a cork and cage, the inside diameter is approx. .65 in. The inside diameter is .715 in. on St. Bernardus and Chimay bottles that use a #9 cork. I need to figure out if I need a #8 , or maybe a #7 corkThe glass is also not quite as thick as the commercial belgian bottles, but none of this was claimed in the description, I only hoped. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
perfect size bottle for our our craft beer to go, 22 ounce bomber are to big these fit in the fridge much better and have a much better user friendly shape. Also able to price better for customers.
I love them! Bought them for cider I was giving for Christmas gifts but I am glad I kept a few. Look great and 500 ml is just about 16 oz
Awesome look, shipping arrived on time and in one pice, very well packed.
Arrived fast in strong packaging and all prices in tact. Really nice classy looking bottle.
These are very nice, small (16.9 oz.) champagne type bottles. Base is punted, very heavy, dark glass. Shipping and packaging was outstanding! No damage at all, worth the shipping costs even though these don't qualify for free shipping.
Great Price For Such a Good Bottle. Why Buy Anything Else !!!! P.S. The New Kelly Capper Works On These
these are perfect for the golden strong we are bottling.
Nice thick bottle. I would like to see something indicating the package contains glass or handle with care as one arrived busted. 1 out of 48 isn't bad though and I'm sure it was most likely an error on FedExs end as MoreBeer does include bubble wrap in the box to protect these.
Perfect bottle, even if the beer isn’t any good the bottle looks great.
Nice bottles for home brewing. Only drawback is if your bottle capping device has a ring around the cap holder, it won’t fit around the ring at the top of the bottle.Everything else is perfect.
Thick walls, great shape and just the right amount of beer!
These bottles are gorgeous. I bought some of these and some of the standard bottles. The glass on these is considerably thicker and darker. When holding one of these in one hand versus a standard 22 0z. (larger) bottle in the other hand, these are noticeably heftier. Yes, the bottom is punted as shown (a review of similar bottles in a different size said it was not).
These worked perfectly for the homebrew I've been working on, and were the lowest price I could find. shipping was very well done.
These bottles are the perfect pint size, also great for higher co2 volumes as well as they will not explode like the other 12oz or 22oz bottles will. Perfect for brett and sours, also good for presentation bottles for other styles as well.
Great look. Arrived quickly
Excellent bottles at reasonable price. Great to package wedding favor beer carbed at high volumes.
I really like these, they are bigger than the 12 oz ( too much bottling) but not as big as the 22 oz (Which some people are intimidated by) so these are the best of both worlds
They held my beer unlike any other bottle before.
what size label would be recommended for a bottle this size?
I've used labels that are approxiately 4 inches wide x 4 inches tall. (Actual size is: 10.2 cm wide x 9.8 cm tall)
Can you use a hand capper on these (specifically the one that comes with the premium kit)?
Bought these used the capper from the Premium Kit which is either the Emily or the Crimson capper-- not sure which but it's easy to use. I did need to reverse the plates and it worked like a charm.
Yes they cap just like any other beer bottle. I used them to bottle sparkling wine @ 20 #s psi. Scott
If you have the one that you can flip the plates around then yes. Otherwise I recommend the following bench capper. https://www.morebeer.com/products/deluxe-bench-bottle-capper.html
Yes it is a standard size crown cap
Yes this has the standard crown like normal bottles.
My hand capper worked just fine.
You can use a hand capper but you need to make some mild modifications. I used the Emily Bottle Capper (B490) which costs 16.99. To work on the Amber Champagne/Belgian Style bottles you need to use a pliers and pull out the metal plates that would usually fit around the neck of the bottle. (My husband pulled them out for me...his hands were stronger) Without the metal plates it fits nicely around the neck of this style bottle. Hand capping was them easy. No other hand capper available on this site worked.
I used the Emily capper with excellent results.
The capper that came with the Premium kit I bought last summer was the Gloria Bottle Capper and no that capper will not work with this bottle style.
Yes just flip the metal inserts
can you use standard corks with these?
These can be used with most "standard" corks. All of the corks we sell will fit inside these bottles. We do recommend using the specific Belgian or Champagne corks for these as they will be the appropriate length and porousness that you are looking for.
Use standard beer caps not corks
These take champagne corks. I haven't used any of the corks yet myself but they work great with the standard 26mm caps as well.
Haven't tried "standard corks". I used the belgian corks and cages sold from More Beer. The corks will go in but they won't come out without a corkscrew and elbow grease. A smaller diameter cork would be preferred. I'd like to be able to pop them out by hand like with champagne.
Possibly. The opening is the same size as a normal 12oz bottle. I used the standard 26mm bottle caps.
How many volumes of CO2 (or psi) are these bottles rated for?
I carbed at 3.5 volumes and feel comfortable that they’ll handle up to 4. Cheers
If this is the same product as the bottles from the Cary Company (Part #: 30WASL16.9 oz. (500 ml) Amber Glass Sparkling Beer Bottles Crown Pry-Off or Cork 26-3150 12/cs) they state "This glass beer bottle is designed to hold up to 4 volumes max. carbonation with tunnel pasteurization at 145° F max. It can hold up to 4.5 volumes max carbonation without tunnel pasteurization.
