    Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)

LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

        Easy to brew.

        This made for a fun Brew day. Have not done an extract batch in a long time and enjoyed the shower Brew session. Looking forward to trying this after a month of layering. WLP830 working well at 51 degrees.

        Amber lager extract kit

        This is a great recipe! I am an AG brewer that was looking for a quick extract kit to brew. This beer sounded flavorful and different so I gave it a try. I used WLP830 German lager yeast fermented at 50 F and then lagered for 6 weeks. This is a very hop forward beer, the longer cold ferment and lagering times allows the hop notes to drop a bit but there is still a nice hop presence in the beer. Since we tapped this keg last week, this has been our "go to" beer. It also has a great amber color. If you like hoppy beers and have the capability to produce lagers, this is a very tasty kit. Brew it now and you'll have a great beer for the fall season.
