Yeast Viability Calculator
A quick way to roughly calculate how viable your yeast is.
Yeast viability describes how many living cells there are in a cell population. The most accurate way to determine this number is to use a microscope and perform an actual cell count. This calculator allows you to estimate the viability of your yeast based on its production date.
How to Use the Calculator
- Initial Cell Count: Most all manufacturers publish the cell count on their packaging. Enter the cell count of your yeast.
- Production Date: Most all manufacturers publish the production date on their packaging. Enter the production date of your yeast.
- Calculate: Simply click the "Go" button to see the results of your viability percentage and viable cell count.
