How does the built-in valve replace a ball valve?
The RipTide features a linear flow control valve integrated directly into the pump head. Unlike traditional ball valves which can be jerky and hard to dial in, the linear valve provides smooth, precise restriction—perfect for setting exact vorlauf and sparge rates.
Can I pump boiling wort with it?
Absolutely. The stainless steel head and high-temperature impeller are designed specifically to handle boiling wort. It's the ideal pump for pushing through counterflow chillers, plate chillers, or creating a whirlpool in your kettle.
Do I need special fittings?
No. The RipTide pump head has standard 1/2" Male Pipe Thread (MPT) inlet and outlet connections. It pairs perfectly with standard quick disconnects, camlocks, or standard barbed fittings you likely already use.
How hard is it to clean?
It takes seconds. The heavy-duty tri-clamp fitting allows you to pop the stainless head off the motor without a single screwdriver or wrench. You can easily scrub it out, sanitize it, and clamp it right back on.
