This water filter kit features a 10" carbon block filter that removes all chlorine and organic flavor. Kit includes 10" housing, one carbon block filter, garden hose attachment, barbed fittings and 6' of 3/8" vinyl tubing. The carbon block should be replaced after filtering approximately 800 gallons of water or after 1 year of use, whichever comes first. Filter should be disassembled and stored dry when not in use. The beer filter gets installed inline between two ball lock Cornelius kegs using CO2 pressure to push the beer out of the full keg through the filter and into the clean keg. This kit is designed to filter out particles down to 1 micron, which is considered fine filtration. At one micron the beer will be clear after filtration provided you do not have a starch haze. Filtering also accelerates the conditioning process to just a few days. Most of our customers who use the filtering kit find that they; keg beer, chill it overnight, filter the next day, carbonate, and are drinking clear beer in a couple days. For those who want to bottle beer without sediment, filtering combined with the use of a counter pressure bottle filler will allow you to put crystal clear, carbonated beer into bottle. Spun-polypropylene filters are disposable filters and cannot be cleaned and used more than once. However, you can filter multiple kegs with one filter. 3 micron will remove most yeast, and 1 micron filtration will remove almost all yeast. Most breweries and wineries use a large plate filter system to achieve clear product. Now you can do the same at home with two corny kegs. Our Beer and Wine Plate Filter Kit has a larger surface area, which means more yeast and particulate extraction than our cartridge filter, and comes with our plate filter, two disposable filter pads, tubing, flare fittings, and two flare beverage ball locks.  This kit works great as either a beer or wine filter, but you may want to use different pads depending on the results you're hoping to achieve Each filtering session requires two pads at a time, and each pad must be the same micron to work. The beer or wine is pushed out of the keg and into the housing at 5 PSI, where it passes on either side of the filter housing, then gets forced from the center through the pads, where it is then pushed out into your clean keg. The rough sides of both filters should be facing each other on the inside of the filter, so the smooth sides face outward. Each filter pad set is good for approximately 5 gallons of beer when the beer has been filtered by the previous size pads or you are starting with the rough filters. This compact filter is designed for the home wine maker who is filtering 5-10 gallons at a time. Perfect for filtering wine concentrate kits. There is a small built in Flojet pump (self-priming, diaphragm pump) that can be used for racking from container to the next by bypassing the filter pads. You will not want to filter wine which contains solids such as stems or oak chips. This will clog the pump and void the warranty. Takes three pads to load this filter. Does not come with filter pads. The intake and outtake tubes are 3/8" and the drip tray tube is 1/4".

The Buon Vino 6-Pad Wine Filter offers twice the filtering capacity of the Buon Vino 3-pad wine filter.  One of the major bummers of filtering is when you are all set up and everything is flowing along nicely and then your filter clogs.  You have to stop your operation and change pads.  If you are homewinemaker filtering 60 or more gallons we recommend you step up to the Buon Vino 6 from the Buon Vino 3. Filter package includes 8' of 1/2 ID tubing on the input side and 4' of 1/2" ID tubing on the output side. Input side includes sediment tip but we recommend our 1/2" Racking set up (R310 or R315).
