  • Kit (All Grain) - Phantasm Hazy DIPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (All Grain) - Phantasm Hazy DIPA - PLACEHOLDER

Phantasm Hazy DIPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

Our Phantasm Powder hazy recipes are bursting with a tropical bouquet complimented by a choice selection of New Zealand and Pacific Northwest hops Includes Mosaic®, Amarillo®, Cascade, Talus®, Vic Secret, Strata, Idaho 7®, Riwaka™, and Sabro™ hops Estimated ABV: 8.2% Estimated IBUs: 42 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you're hearing ghostly tales whispered around your local homebrew shop, there's no need to pile your brew crew into the hippy van—this one is no mystery. Phantasm Powder has been causing quite a stir on the craft beer scene, and the buzz is well deserved. Adding this powder to your wort and fermenting it with a thiolized yeast strain is one of the easiest ways to boost tropical flavor and aroma in your finished beer. Derived from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Grapes, this powder will add a concentrated dose of thiol precursors. During fermentation, yeast will go to work on these aroma compounds and "free the thiol", boosting the tropical bouquet of your beer to supernatural levels. We're stoked to get this cutting-edge ingredient into the hands of homebrewers so we designed a series of Phantasm recipe kits that will set you up to take full advantage of brewing with Phantasm Powder. Our Phantasm Hazy Double IPA includes 10 ounces of aroma hop additions from whirlpool to biotransformation to post fermentation, leaning on some choice New Zealand and American varietals and turns it up a notch with two additions of Cryo Hops® for an extra concentrated kick of hoppy goodness. Since this kit series is all about the thiols, we start with whole cone Mosaic in the mash to further increase the thiol precursors. Add the Phantasm Powder at flameout along with your whirlpool / hop stand additions. For maximum effect, we highly recommend choosing a thiolized yeast strain for fermentation which are specifically designed to boost thiol biotransformation. El Dorado Hop Gatherer IPA | Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter® Clone | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

    1 review

Our clone recipe of Sierra Nevada's Hop Hunter IPA a tasty, easy drinking and highly aromatic beer spiked with El Dorado hop oil Includes Bravo™, Cascade, Crystal, and Simcoe® hops Estimated ABV: 6.2% Estimated IBUs: 60 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Hop Hunter IPA by Sierra Nevada brewing is the inspiration for this delicious recipe.  Hop Gatherer is a Hop Hunter clone, which contains all of the same ingredients as the original beer, but gives you the option of what distilled oil you would like to use.  We offer the kit with either Chinook or El Dorado farm distilled hop oil.  Either way, this makes a tasty, easy drinking and highly aromatic IPA! A bit about farm distilled hop oil: Distilled immediatley after picking, farm distilled hop oil gives you the bursting aroma provided by fresh hops.  By distilling the oil at the farm, the distinct character of a "wet hop" beer is able to be replicated year round.  The oil can be added post fermentation, typically at bottling.  You can even add the oil directly to your glass! Be careful, it is VERY POTENT! Light in color and incredibly smooth, this IPA is enjoyed by all. Not too bitter, but absolutely hoppy enough to please the biggest hop head! IPA II BKG Bomb | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

    2 reviews

German malts and English hops collide. BKG Bomb is a far cry from today's modern, citrus-forward IPAs Includes Magnum and British Kent Goldings hops Estimated ABV: 7.2% Estimated IBUs: 84-88 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Where do German Malts and English Hops exist side by side in peace and unlikely harmony.  In our BKG Bomb of an IPA!  This big brusing beer, with an amazing mouth feel from copius amounts of German Munich Malt, is big on deep malt flavor and big on alcohol. It is the antithesis of todays super citrusy hopped, pale colored IPAs.  This is all about malt, malt, malt and how British Kent Goldings (BKG) hops blend  oh so well with a malt heavy beer.  British Kent Goldings are the most prized ale hops in England and known for their subtle nature and floral aromas that really compliment malt flavors. Do you need a little extra sustenance to make it through the winter? Do you like to slice your beer with a knife? Do you need a break from over-the-top hopped IPA's? If you answered yes to any of these questions, The BKG Bomb IPA II should be your next  beer. Features 10 lbs of German Munich Malt and 3 lbs of American Pale. As if that was not enough we also include some Carapils for body building.  The 4 oz of British Kent Golding hops in the finish provided for a unique and authentic English flavor. Bittered with 2oz of Magnum hops for a firm bitterness to stand up to all the malt. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.073-77 SRM (Color Range): 12 IBUs: 84-88 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 7.2% (Makes 5 gallons) Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Frequently Asked Questions

India Pale Ales (IPA) Collection Article +

India Pale Ale Here are five facts about IPAs that you might be interested in knowing if you want to learn More! about IPA’s and are considering home-brewing one yourself! 1. IPAs Were Not (Necessarily) Made in India! India Pale Ale gets its name from being an export of the English during their rule in British India. In contrast to today’s IPAs, the IPAs of centuries past were lighter-flavored, less hoppy, and as you can probably guess, paler in color. 2. IPAs Come in Several Flavors! IPAs have become the love of the craft-beer world, and because of this, many different flavors have been invented. For those who don’t like overly bitter tasting beers, Northeastern-style IPAs are replacing what were the bitterest beers in the business with a mellower flavor. For those bored with Commercial IPAs in general, there are numerous flavors to by creating your own — due to the different strains of yeast and of hops that can be used — that resemble citrus, pine, and even fresh fruit like peaches and papaya. The IPA world is yours to create and expand on! 3. IPAs Can Be Made at Home! As stated above, IPAs are a great choice for the first-time or long-time home brewer. At MoreBeer.com, we have many IPA recipe kits to choose from: You can brew an Imperial IPA, a more hoppy variety, or delight your taste buds with flavors as dark, bitter, or fruity as you’d like. We know it’s all about how the hops influences the taste, so rest assured that our IPA Beer Recipe Kits contain the freshest hops available as well as the newest styles of IPA to keep your palate pleased. 4. It’s All about the Hops! As alluded to above, IPAs are considered a “hoppy” style of beer. This means that the hops, which are used as a bittering agent, usually take precedence when it comes to the taste of an IPA. Yep, that’s right — that’s where the bitter taste comes from. If you like to add a strong bitterness to your drink, you may love many different styles of IPA. If you prefer a lighter flavor, the taste of the hops can be regulated if you’re brewing at home so that it doesn't overwhelm your IPA's flavor. “Dry-hopping” is when the hops are added during or after fermentation, rather than when the wort is boiling. This process creates a strong aroma and taste, but not as much actual bitterness. (Some perceived bitterness though). 5. IPAs, Unlike Other Beers Styles and Wine, Should Not Be Aged a Long Time! IPAs are made with hops, and hops’ flavor fades away over time: It will flatten out and become less “hoppy” and more “malty”. Try to drink it within a two-week to a two-month window for the best flavor.
