  • BTF Iodophor Sanitizer - PLACEHOLDER BTF Iodophor Sanitizer - PLACEHOLDER

    BTF Iodophor Sanitizer

    22 reviews

Homebrewers know that proper sanitation techniques are critical for creating high quality homemade beverages. BTF Iodophor, an iodine based sanitizer, is a powerful, broad spectrum antimicrobial product that kills a wide range of bugs that are waiting to infect your fermentation. Unlike acid based sanitizers, BTF Iodophor reliably kills yeast, mold, fungus, bacteria, viruses and blood borne pathogens.  BTF Iodophor offers a low cost per use, is gentler on your hands than other sanitizers, and is very low foaming. If used in the correct dilution (very important) it is a no-rinse sanitizer. It is safe to use on all your brewing equipment such as buckets, kegs, tanks, fermenters, bottles, etc. Even if you frequently use a sanitizer, it’s a good idea to have multiple sanitizers on hand especially when working with wild yeasts and bacteria or as a “change of pace” sanitizer. Directions for 12.5 PPM Brewing Sanitizer Solution: To Make 1.5 Gallons of sanitizer: Mix 1 tsp BTF Iodophor into 1 ½ gallons cool water To Make 5 Gallons of Sanitizer: Mix ½ oz (1 Tablespoon) BTF Iodophor into 5 gallons cool water Allow solution to contact surface for 2 minutes, then air dry. Iodophor Features: Kills yeast, mold, fungus, gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria, spore forming bacteria, viruses and blood borne pathogens Use at a rate of 1/2 oz of BTF per 5 gallons Low foaming No-rinse at 12.5 PPM dilution (see above) Non-corrosive and gentle on skin and hands

Golden Naked Oats Malt - Simpsons Malt

    1 review

5-10 °L - Simpsons Malt - . Don't let the name fool you, these are not oats "in the raw". You may be used to seeing oats used as an unmalted adjunct, Golden Naked Oats is in fact a huskless crystal malt. With an understated nutty flavor and slight grainy sweetness, this exceptional malt imparts light golden hues to the wort, and increases the body and smooth mouthfeel of the finished beer. The thick, creamy white head this malt contributes is unmistakable. Try Simpsons Golden Naked Oats with any malty or full bodied brew, especially Brown Ales and Stouts. Crystal malts are gently cooked during the malting process. Cooking initiates the enzymatic conversion of starches into fermentable sugars, and caramelizes some of the sugars as the malt reaches its final color. This eliminates the need to mash crystal malt, and ensures that some of the sugars will survive fermentation to sweeten the beer. Example Malt Analysis: Color:5-10 ° L Protein: 11.9% max Moisture %: 7.0 max Extract % d.b: 69.0 Diastatic Power: 0° Lintner

  • Maltodextrin - PLACEHOLDER Maltodextrin - PLACEHOLDER

    Maltodextrin

    10 reviews

Give your homebrew that refining touch. Adding Maltodextrin to your extract brew will help you fine-tune the body and mouthfeel without affecting the flavor. The Maltodextrin molecule is a chain of sugars between 4 and 20 dextrose units in length. That means it is only 3% fermentable by brewer's yeast, and so will contribute body to the finished beer. It is naturally present in all finished beers, up to 6% by weight, but the grains that yield it in All Grain brews don’t respond well to steeping in extract batches. Our maltodextrin is composed of .5% dextrose, 2.5% Maltose, 3.5% maltotriose, 93.5% higher saccharides, and is made from corn. It is often also referred to as Dextrin or Dextrine Powder. Add to the wort at the same time as the extracts.

  • Foam Control (FermCapS) - PLACEHOLDER Foam Control (FermCapS) - PLACEHOLDER

    Foam Control (FermCap S)

    132 reviews

No more boil overs, no more blow-off tubes. Once you’ve used Foam Control you’ll never brew without it again! Foam control does just what its name suggests--it reduces foam production during the hot-break portion of the boil, and it reduces the amount of krausen developed during fermentation. Also known as FermCap S, Foam Control does not affect the head on your finished beer. In fact, it can actually increase the head by retaining head-forming compounds that would have been blown off during fermentation. It will settle-out of your beer before bottling or kegging as it is actually absorbed onto the surface of the yeast cells and filter media. Add two drops per gallon at start of fermentation. Comes in an eye dropper bottle for easy use. 1 oz is good for about 50 x 5-gallon batches of beer. Also available in bulk 1 gallon size. Note: Keeps best when stored in the refrigerator. Like Foam Control (FermCap S)? Then you will love CellarScience® Foam Axe - Anti Foaming Agent!

  • CellarScience - SilaFine - PLACEHOLDER CellarScience - SilaFine - PLACEHOLDER

CellarScience® SilaFine | Beer Fining Agent

    13 reviews

Fast-Acting Clarifier: SilaFine quickly creates crystal-clear beer by removing yeast and haze-forming particles, delivering high-quality results in as little as 24 hours. Preserves Beer Foam: Unlike other fining agents, SilaFine targets only haze-forming particles and yeast, leaving foam-active proteins intact, ensuring a great beer head in every pour. Versatile Application: Effective both in finished beer and during the whirlpool stage, SilaFine offers flexibility for brewers, with different dosing options for quicker, compact sedimentation. Vegan-Friendly & Purity Compliant: Made from pure, natural silica sol, SilaFine is vegan-friendly and complies with the Reinheitsgebot German beer purity law. SilaFine is an easy-to-use, vegan friendly fining agent that quickly creates crystal clear beer by removing yeast and haze-forming particles. This highly effective clarifier will eliminate or greatly reduce the need for filtration without affecting flavor. SilaFine is a unique, negatively charged silica sol fining agent that binds with positively charged haze active proteins and polyphenols to create an electrostatic net that also drags down yeast cells. SilaFine does not target foam active head forming proteins, so the beer foam in glass is unaffected. Use: Add 10ml or 1 tbsp per 5 gallons of finished beer. Gently rouse the beer to fully disperse the clarifier. SilaFine will work to drop out yeast at fermentation temperatures, but for full effectiveness on haze-inducing particles, we recommend adding it to beer that has been chilled below 39°F. If the beer has not cleared after 24 hours, a second dose can be added. SilaFine should be stored cool, but do not freeze. Unitanks & Brites: If you are using a brite tank, SilaFine is best added to the beer stream inline when pumping from fermenter to brite. If you are using a Unitank and no brite tank, add to the top of the Unitank while rousing with CO2 for 5-10 minutes from the bottom. Or you can use a pump loop to recirculate the beer in a Unitank, instead of rousing with CO2. If added at ideal temperatures below 39°F, and well dispersed into the tank, clarification can take as little 8-12 hours. Otherwise clarification may take up to 48 hours. We advise against using more than the recommended amount, as overdosing can actually increase haze temporarily and cause a longer settling period.  Dosage Rate in Whirlpool: SilaFine can also be used in the whirlpool at a rate of 0.5-1ml per gallon to achieve a quicker and more compact sedimentation in the kettle.   Additional Notes: SilaFine is based on a special selection of commercial grade amorphous silicon dioxide, also known as silica sol, at a concentration of 30%. Silica sol is known by a few names in brewing including colloidal silica, acidified silicates, silicon dioxide, and silicic acid. Unlike some other silica sols, SilaFine is not treated with aluminum oxide. SilaFine is a pure mineral and complies with Reinheitsgebot German beer purity law. Do not freeze. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.   The recommended shelf life is 12 months from the date the package is opened.   Allergen Free GMO Free

With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer! Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor.  It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil. Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material. Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier. Defined by its citrus, and often more specifically, grapefruit flavor it is now sought out around the World. Chalk (Calcium Carbonate)

    11 reviews

Calcium carbonate is used to reduce the acidity of wine. It does not require cold-stabilization to force complete precipitation, as does potassium carbonate. However, calcium carbonate is more likely to affect the flavor than potassium carbonate, and may take a few months to fully precipitate. One-quarter ounce (about 4 teaspoons) of calcium carbonate reduces acidity in one gallon by about 0.25%. Foaming may occur because of the production of CO2. Do not use more than one ounce per gallon. Wait 24 hours and rack wine. Calcium carbonate is also used in beer to increase the temporary hardness of water. Traditionally used in English stouts, pale ales and bitters. HAZY will enhance the fruit-forward 'juicy' character of your hops while contributing its own ester profile with notes of peach, citrus, mango and passionfruit. It will be more expressive the higher in its temperature range you let it go, leaving your beer with a hazy appearance when its finished. This is the ideal strain for fermenting expressive New England IPAs or Hazy Pale Ales. Every batch is PCR tested to ensure contamination free yeast. Dosage: One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly. Direct Pitch or Rehydrate: HAZY yeast is designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no oxygenation required in the initial fermentation. Our aerobic growth process makes this possible by creating dry yeast with high viability and high sterol levels. HAZY yeast is pre-loaded with essential nutrients to ensure a successful, complete fermentation. While not required, some brewers prefer to rehydrate yeast. To hydrate yeast, first, sanitize the yeast brick and scissors. Use 10 grams of sterilized tap water between 85-95°F (29-35°C) mixed with 0.25 grams of FermStart per gram of yeast. Sprinkle yeast on the water. Allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 20 minutes, then swirl. Use small amounts of wort to adjust to within 10°F (6°C) of wort temperature before pitching. Ferment between 62-75°F (17-24°C). Optimum Fermentation Temp: 62-75°F Flocculation: Medium-Low Alochol Tolerance: 11-12% ABV Attenuation: 75-80% Similar Strains: WLP06, WY1318 Gluten-free CellarScience Yeast: For years liquid yeast has been sold as the higher quality option but times are changing. Yes, 20 years ago dry yeast was made by bread yeast producers and the quality was not as good as liquid yeast. CellarScience is helping to flip that script with a full lineup of high-quality dry yeasts. Cell count and viability is usually higher than commercial liquid yeast pitches, which vary from pouch to pouch and don't ship well. CellarScience yeast can be pitched directly in most batches of wort, offering significant time savings. Yeast that is quick and easy to use, high quality, and available at a reasonable cost adds up to a tremendous value. Quality yeast that doesn't "break the brink". CellarScience Nutrients: For high gravity ferments consider rehydrating yeast with CellarScience FermStart yeast hydration nutrient. Strata | Pellet Hops

    6 reviews

We think Strata is the next amazing aroma hop. Our hop buyer Marcus was super high on this hop from the first sniff. Then Vito did hop selection in 2019 and came back raving about this hop. Now that we have had it in several commercial beers, everyone at MoreBeer! is loving it. One of the first commercial beers that made us go "wow" was Stratadust from Barebottle brewery in San Francisco. Another was New School Kicks from the Imperiale Beer Project. We've all had a million Citra® and Mosaic® beers the last couple of years and while those hops are amazing, and we'll drink them any day of the week, we are ready for something new and we think Strata will be in the same echelon. At its core Stata is an IPA/Session-IPA/Pale Ale hop with many layers of different fruit flavors, dried and fresh, anchored with a dried chili-cannabis-funk. Yeah, take that in. The grower, Indie Hops, says Strata does not have any diesel, machine oil, or catty ‘baggage’. Since we are not huge on machine oil in our beer, that is a bonus. Late hot side additions bring out layers of rounded-tropical plus bright-fresh fruit flavors; dry hopping yields more grapefruit and cannabis. We think the tropical fruit that we all kind of love, along with other interesting complexities, is what makes this hop shine. We also dig that this amazing hop is coming out of Oregon from a hop company appropriately named Indie Hops. When hops were in short supply some hop growers in Yakima, the old school hop epicenter, shunned us. They would only sell direct to breweries or in their own packaging where they could make full markup. We met Indie Hop Growers 10 years ago and these guys are laid back, super cool, and always supported MoreBeer! Indie started a hop breeding program with Oregon State to develop killer new aroma hops outside of Yakima and Strata is their first home run. So perhaps we could be biased but we think the hops smells for itself. Leave a review and let us know what you think.   Hop Statistics: Alpha Acids: 11.0 – 12.5% Beta Acids: 5 – 6.0% Alpha-Beta Ratio: 1.8 – 2.5 Cohumulone: (% of alpha acids): 21% Total Oils in mls per 100 grams dried: 2.3 – 3.5

    Cacao Nibs

    29 reviews

Cacao Nibs are a great way to introduce rich chocolate flavor into any beer. Impress your friends with a unique tasting experience!   Cacao nibs (also referred to as cocoa nibs) are the key ingredient in chocolate. They are crushed and roasted seeds from the cacao plant. Tcho Nibs have a wonderful cocoa smell to them, and will provide a very subdued cocoa-like flavor to any beer.   You can use these cacao nibs like you would a dry hop, by adding the cacao nibs to your secondary fermenter or keg for a couple of weeks (4 ounces per 5 gallons is a great place to start), allowing the beer to draw out the subtle flavors and aromas of the cacao nibs. They can also be used in the boil or mash - wherever you would like to experiment with them. Adding the nibs pre-boil will impart some bitterness, so use a lot less than you would when adding them to a keg. Stone Brewing Company made a stout using cacao nibs in the boil to actually replace some of the hops in the recipe.   These super high quality TCHO cacao nibs go great with darker beers like porters and stouts, but could blend with any beer - perhaps a wit or a saison! TCHO is an American chocolate company in San Francisco, dedicated to producing high end chocolates.

Needless to say, it pairs perfectly with fruit-forward hops. Don't be shy about taking this yeast to the upper end of its temperature range to intensify the aroma and fermentation speed. Although Hornindal Kviek is highly flocculent, it will impart a slight haze to the finished beer. Kveik refers to traditional Norwegian farmhouse brewing yeast that has been passed down from one generation to the next, literally being harvested and repitched for centuries. Over this long period of time, kveik developed certain characteristics that distinguish it from modern brewer's yeast. In general, kveik has a very high heat tolerance and will produce a consistent flavor profile across the fermentation temperature range. It's also a fast fermenter, highly flocculent, and has an above average alcohol tolerance. Attenuation: 75-82% Flocculation: High Alcohol Tolerance: 12% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 70-95°F Cell Count: 225 Billion   Please Note: For best results we Always recommend ordering an Ice Pack with your liquid yeast. 5 reviews

Sourvisiae® is a modern fermentation solution that produces sour beers through one simple fermentation step Clean and neutral flavor, ideal for traditional and modern sour beer styles and an excellent base for fruited sours Sourvisiae® is a bioengineered (GMO) strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Lallemand premium brewing yeast offers brewers unmatched consistency, reliability and purity from one batch of beer to the next Sourvisiae® is a bioengineered ale yeast strain (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) capable of producing lactic acid during fermentation to provide brewers with an easy, reproducible, and mono-culture product for sour-style beer production. Sourvisiae® contains a single genetic modification, a lactate dehydrogenase gene from a food microorganism, which enables the yeast to produce high levels of lactic acid, the main compound that gives sour beers their flavor. Sourvisiae® allows the brewer to ferment and sour the beer in one simple step, reducing cross-contamination risks, lowering costs, cutting total process time, and allowing brewers to obtain a consistent product. The brewing process is conducted without any modifications; Sourvisiae® is pitched just like conventional yeast and ferments in a normal fermentation time. Sourvisiae® does not produce other flavor compounds associated with Brettanomyces, Lachancea, or Lactic Acid Bacteria, providing a cleaner and more reproducible souring process, with much shorter fermentation times. Microbiological Properties Classified as a bioengineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a top-fermenting yeast. Finished product is released to the market only after passing a rigorous series of tests. *According to the ASBC and EBC methods of analysis. Typical Analysis of Sourvisiae® Yeast: Percent solids 93% – 96% Living Yeast Cells ≥  5 x 10 9 per gram of dry yeast Wild Yeast < 1 per 10 6 yeast cells Bacteria < 1 per 10 6 yeast cells Brewing Properties In Lallemand’s standard conditions, wort at 20°C (68°F), Sourvisiae® yeast exhibits: Vigorous fermentation that can be completed in 5 days Medium to High Attenuation and Medium to High Flocculation Highly acidic and slightly fruity flavor and aroma The optimal temperature range for Sourvisiae® yeast when producing traditional styles is 15°C (59°F) to 22°C (72°F). Fermentation rate, fermentation time and degree of attenuation are dependent on inoculation density, yeast handling, fermentation temperature and nutritional quality of the wort. Attenuation may appear lower due to the formation of lactic acid. Production of lactic acid does not result in a loss of CO2. When sugar is consumed to produce lactic acid, there is no change in density. Therefore, the amount of residual sugar in the finished beer is lower than the final density would imply. This yeast produces a very acidic beer, with final beer pHs in the range of 3.0 and lactic acid in the range of 8 – 15g/L. Vigorous fermentation can be completed within 5 days. The resulting flavor and aroma profile of the beer is a slightly fruity acidic beer. Because of the resulting low pH and highly acidic conditions, we do not recommend re-pitching this yeast. Flavor and Aroma Tangy, sour, slightly fruity   NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR SHIPMENT IN THE UNITED STATES.

This hop was originally bred at the Hull Hop Research Institute in Germany for it's resistance to disease, and now it is a defining hop in a number of the region's Pilsners and Hefeweizens. Do you need to refrigerate the ingredients until brew day? +

The yeast is the most important ingredient to refrigerate once you receive your order. Hops should be refrigerated after a couple days if they're left out at room temp. Hops can be frozen and will last for 2-3 years still preserving their freshness. Malt extract should be left at room temperature until brew day up to 1-2 weeks. Liquid Malt Extract can can be refrigerated but will become rock solid which requires a hot water bath to thaw out or 24 hours at room temp to re-liquify. Dried Malt Extract should be stored at room temperature. Any grains in a paper bag should be used within 2-3 days for optimum freshness especially if they are pre-milled. Grain stored in plastic bags will last a couple months un-milled. We suggest double bagging to prevent oxidation.
