Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
488-563 °L - Viking Malt - Viking Black Malt is produced by roasting pilsner malt. Final temperature is more than 392˚F. The amylolytic activity of Black Malt is zero. The amount of fermentable extract is low. The flavor of Black Malt is harsh but less acrid than that of roasted barley. Burnt and smoky flavors are strong.
Black Malt is used in dark beers like stouts and porters, mainly for its strong coloring ability. Normally portions 1–2% give a remarkable increase in color without significant change in flavor. By raising the percentage of Black Malt in malt bill the changes in taste can be found quickly. Dosage rates more than 10% are rare.

26 mm diameter caps fit American bottles. Some imported bottles and some sparkling wine bottles use a 29 mm cap instead. We recommend test fitting prior to filling if you're re-using an imported bottle.
Important to note: It is recommended that you only sanitize as many caps as you'll require at the time of bottling. The oxygen-absorbing agent is activated when the cap gets wet. If wetted caps are saved for later use, they'll still function as a normal cap, but the oxygen absorbing agent may be depleted.

370 °L - Briess Malting - This is a dehusked roasted malt that provides intense color without adding much (if any) astringency. This malt can add a subtle roasted flavor to a schwarzbier or Black IPA, or can be used sparingly to darken amber ales or porters.

High-capacity, commercial-grade stainless steel fruit press Bladder press offers an effortless process that is more efficient and gentler on the fruit Can be used with 3/4 hose and water supply that provides at least 36 psi of pressure Rotating basket allows for easy disposal of the pressed grapes Mounted to welded frame with rolling casters for smooth mobility around the winery Made in Italy by Marchisio Bladder presses offer a gentler yet more efficient press with less operator effort and the ultimate in press-control. You will extract more juice and less tannins. Attach your water supply line to the 3/4" barbed water inlet at the base of the unit. Water fills up the interior rubber bladder which expands and presses the grapes against the outer stainless steel screen. 35 p.s.i water pressure (2.5 bar) is the maximum pressure you would need to operate. Two sleeves are provided with the press. One a mesh sleeve is placed inside the press and the other is an outer plastic sleeve that is placed over the top of the press to keep the pressed fruit from squirting out. After pressing, the entire stainless basket rotates and the inner mesh sleeve can be pulled out with most of the pressed grapes coming with it. We use this press in our own small production. A platform was built for the press to sit on so that when we rotate the basket we can dump directly into a macrobin. Use a must pump to pump up into the press. In each press load we do approximately 110 gallons of red wine must (letting free run on through) which works out to be about 3/4 of a macrobin. We can press 7 tons of fruit in a long day. 80 gallon capacity (not including bladder.) 85" Overall height with a basket diameter of 25.5". A great press for the small winery. We used this press in 2004 to press 7 tons of cabernet. A local winery used two of them side by side to press over 50 tons. A joy to use. Download the PDF FAQ: Can the press be operated with air pressure? No. These are hydraulic presses that may only be operated with water. When operating with compressed air, there is a risk of explosion and a very high risk of injury if the membrane bursts due to excess pressure or damage. Is a minimum water pressure required? In order to ensure the function and the best possible yield, there should be a minimum water pressure of 2-2.5 bar on the press. What if the water supply delivers more than 3 bar? In principle, this is not a problem, as if the water pressure inside the press exceeds 3 bar, the pressure relief valve opens and there is no pressure-related damage. How many apples make how much juice? On average, 50kg (110 lbs) of apples produce around 30-35L (8-9 gal) of juice, depending on the variety and quality of the apples.

This is a Blichmann Spare Part. 1/2" tri-clamp gasket. This is the gasket used on the Blichmann Fermenator's racking arm.
Note: Each order comes with one gasket.
This bushing can be used to install a weldless brewmometer into a 1/2" NPT fitting. It can also be used with Blichmann Tower of Power temperature sensors.
To install the thermometer into a female NPT fitting, place the o-ring and washer on the thermometer as indicated by the directions, then thread the adapter bushing onto the thermometer. Apply plumber's tape (H900) to the external NPT threads of the bushing. Tape is not required on the thermometer's threads due to it using the o-ring. Simply thread the thermometer into the bushing with the o-ring and washer in place.
Caution: Once installed, the bushing can not be removed. Avoid overtightening, as it may damage the components.
The Blichmann AutoSparge is extremely helpful when sparging or recirculating your mash. Designed to regulate the flow of liquid being allowed onto the top of your grain bed. If the floating ball is all the way down, the flow rate will increase. As the ball begins to rise with the liquid level, the flow rate slows down, preventing an overflow. Simple, yet effective! Requires at least a 12" inner diameter kettle, keg, or cooler. Includes 18" of silicone tubing and foam tubing float ring.
