  • Kit (Extract) - Jim Nielsen - Hop Mothra - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Jim Nielsen - Hop Mothra - PLACEHOLDER

Hop Mothra IPA by Jim Nielsen | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    2 reviews

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Beautifully pale to medium amber color in the glass with a spicy aroma and flavors of grape fruit and citrus Includes Perle, Cascade, and Liberty hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 55 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you have a monstrous craving for intense hop flavor, you’ll need a beast of equal proportion to do battle. Enter Hop Mothra! This liquid kaiju isn’t interested in saving (or destroying) Tokyo. Her only motive is to slake your thirst and leave you yearning for more – so much so that you’d swim to Infant Island for another taste. With a nice malt backbone (err thorax?) this beast will soar over your tongue and, with a flap of her wings, send a hurricane of hop flavor to assault your taste buds. Jim Nielsen’s Hop Mothra IPA uses 10 lbs of Ultralight Malt Extract, 1 pound of Light DME, and a trio of crystal malts that give this beer a beautiful pale to medium amber color. Perle, Cascade, and Liberty hops lend a spicy aroma with flavors of grape fruit and citrus. Jim began home brewing in 1994, but it wasn’t until the Great American Beer Festival of ‘98 that he came across a beer that would alter the course of his hobby. Grant’s Brewing Company made a batch of beer especially for the festival – Hopzilla! This beer made such an impression on Jim that he decided to take his passion for home brewing to the next level, and he began his search for a brew system that would allow him to do everything the pros can do. He helped MoreBeer! develop one of our first digitally controlled brew sculptures, and not long after he had brewed his own version of Hopzilla that he (unsurprisingly) enjoyed more than the original – HOP MOTHRA! Raise a glass to Jim, and give thanks for this monster of an IPA. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.066-71 SRM (Color Range): 11-14 IBUs: 55 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.   Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

  • Low stock! Tilt Pro Hydrometer and Thermometer - Blue

Tilt® Pro Hydrometer and Thermometer - Blue

    1 review

New and improved with the professional brewer in mind, the Tilt Pro is the bigger, badder version of the original Tilt Hydrometer. With three times the volume and weight as the original unit, the Tilt Pro's larger size allows for more than double the batter life. With preinstalled Energizer® AA lithium batteries, the Pro will stay powered for up to 5 years depending on usage. So much time you may forget your Tilt actually runs on a battery! The extra size and weight come with an added bonus: improved specific gravity stability at high krausen, so you will see a steadier read-out on your iPhone, Android, or Raspberry Pi. In addition, Tilt Pro has boosted the range with a high-gain antenna that in testing increased range by 20% vs. the original Tilt. Now you can see your Tilt through thicker heads of foam and heavier stainless steel walls. To top it off they've included the extra decimal of precision available from the sensors and to the read-out so there are now decimal degrees Fahrenheit as well as higher resolution Celsius. Specific gravity now reads out to the 10,000th place (for example 1.0000). You can now see fermentation activity dropping less than a brewer's point per day. In all they've made several adjustments we believe the craft beer professional (and serious home brewer) is sure to appreciate. Specifications: Size: 1.7" (43mm) diameter (max) by 5.4" (140mm) tall Weight: 5.4 ounces (153g) Specific Gravity Measurement Range: 0.9900 - 1.1200 Specific Gravity Resolution: 0.00001 Temperature Measurement Range: 0°F - 140°F (-17.8°C - 60°C) Note: Installed lithium batteries include a built in PTC (heat activated fuse) that will temporarily cut power if batteries exceed 140°F. Temperature resolution: 0.1°F (0.1°C) Absolute Maximum Temperature Range: -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C) Battery: User-replaceable, 2x 1.5v AA battery (Li/FeS2), widely sold as "Energizer®  AA Ultimate Lithium".

  • Chronical 2.0 Fermenter - PLACEHOLDER Chronical 2.0 Fermenter - PLACEHOLDER

    Ss Brewtech Chronical 2.0 Fermenter

Updating the iconic series of Chronical fermenters is not something Ss took lightly. The Chronical was a product launched in the earliest days of Ss Brewtech. It, along with the Brewmaster Edition that would join a few years later, has formed a core product line that has elevated the standard of what homebrewers have come to expect from a cylindro-conical vessel, and what homebrewed beer could be. So, with a blank sheet of paper, they went to work designing the ultimate Chronical fermenter. Priority number one was to continue on Ss's mission to elevate every home product they offered to sanitary connections and valves. For the Chronical 2.0 they addressed that by adding a new welded 3/4" TC sampling port, and paired that with an all-new sampling valve based on the Pure Flow sanitary technology. Secondly, Ss redesigned the lid to use the Unitank's lid-mounted cooling coil system, which removes the side-mounted weldless ports from the Chronical BME. The Chronical 2.0's lid-mounted cooling coils extend further down into the fermenter, enabling users to ferment partial batch sizes. Although Chronical 2.0 is a massive evolutionary leap forward, Ss also stayed true to the product line's core. The full-width lid, a revolution when the original Chronical launched is retained, the pro-inspired 60° cone, and bottom dump port is still here. And last but not least, the ever-popular neoprene jacket from the Chronical Brewmaster Edition is standard on Chronical 2.0.  This means that every Chronical 2.0 has a coil and jacket included as standard. • ForgeFit - 3 in. T.C. Butterfly Valve (304 S/S) 7 Position - Blue Plastic Handle ForgeFit - 3 in. T.C. Butterfly Valve (304 S/S) 7 Position - Blue Plastic Handle

    ForgeFit® Stainless Butterfly Valve | 3" T.C.

If you want to use the absolute best style of valve available to homebrewers, the butterfly valve is the clear choice. Brewers love butterfly valves because they are far and away the most sanitary option. Regular ball valves can trap small amounts of wort inside them, which inevitably leads to an infection that can sour your beer. That's why we always recommend breaking down your ball valves and cleaning them between uses. Butterfly valve have virtually nowhere for contaminants to hide and are easily cleaned in place. They also can be taken apart for a deeper cleaning if desired, although it's rarely necessary. This 3" Tri-Clamp Butterfly Valve features stainless steel construction and 7-position handle. The handle can be rotated 180° for right or left hand operation. 3" tri-clamp 7 locking positions Squeeze trigger locking handle Made from 304 stainless steel ForgeFit® is a brand of rugged, high-quality fittings made from certified 304 stainless steel. • Wax Beads - Blue - PLACEHOLDER Wax Beads - Blue - PLACEHOLDER

Bottle Sealing Wax - Blue Beads

Bottle Sealing Wax is a sealing wax for any type of wine, liquor or bottled liquid. In all applications, Bottle Sealing Wax provides a tough, moisture resistant coating, which preserves freshness, flavor and fragrance. Bottle Sealing Wax adheres on both natural and synthetic corks. It provides tamper evident protection for your product. Bottle Sealing Wax can be applied by capping the top of the recessed cork or by dipping the corked bottle into the wax. Wax beads are easier to measure and melt than wax blocks. Sold in 1 pound bags and 50 pound boxes. 1 pound will cover approximately 30 bottles, depending on usage. DIPPING INSTRUCTIONS: The wax should be melted in a double boiled or crock pot. Maintain wax temperature at 180°F to 190°F. The ideal temperature may vary, depending on ambient temperature and humidity as well as the temperature of the bottle and cork. Invert the bottle and carefully lower the cork end into the melted wax to the desired depth. Leave the top immersed for 10 to 15 seconds. Carefully lift bottle straight up and allow the excess wax to run off the inverted bottle top. When excess wax slows or stops, turn bottle upright and allow to cool.

  • Economy Aeration-Oxidation Free SO2 Test Kit

Economy Aeration-Oxidation Free SO2 Test Kit

    15 reviews

Finally - Accurate & Affordable Free SO2 Testing! In winemaking, Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) is one of the most important and effective tools in the winemaker's arsenal for protecting against the effects of oxidative or microbial spoilage. Unfortunately, over time any SO2 added to a wine will be consumed due to its interaction with the very things that it is protecting the wine from. The ability to accurately monitor the amount of SO2 remaining available in a wine to protect it - termed Free SO2 - is hugely important when it comes to ensuring that the wine makes it through the aging process safely. For years MoreWine! has offered a variety of methods for testing the level of Free SO2 in a wine. Until now, winemakers had to make a choice between inexpensive test kits which lacked accuracy and kits which are highly accurate but cost hundreds of dollars. Now MoreWine! has developed an inexpensive AND accurate test kit which we feel has a place in every home winery. Based on the exact same science as our original Aeration-Oxidation test kit, our new Economy Aeration-Oxidation kit offers a high degree of accuracy for a fraction of the price. Aeration-Oxidation is the exact same testing method used in thousands of commercial wineries and wine analysis laboratories around the world. It is time-tested and proven accurate and is simple to perform. Our kit includes: All the glassware and tubing needed to set up a 2-chamber test apparatus Pipettes to accurately measure your wine sample and chemicals An aspiration pump to drive the chemical reaction in the test method Enough chemical reagents to run 2-3 tests Clear and comprehensive instructions for setting up and running the system PLEASE NOTE: This kit ships with a small bottle of 25% phosphoric acid which is required for the test. At this strength phosphoric acid is considered a hazardous material and we are not certified to ship larger quantities. We recommend that you investigate the possibility of sourcing it locally, through a laboratory supply company. If this is not possible, you can purchase it through us; see part #s MT108DS & MT108BDS. The high cost of these bottles reflects the $20 surcharge which FedEx adds to handle a hazardous shipment. These bottles ship directly from our supplier's warehouse and will take a couple of extra days to arrive. Click here to download a copy of our instruction manual for this kit.

    8 reviews

The highest quality plastic ball lock quick disconnect available to homebrewers Built-in check valve to prevent liquid from backflowing into your draft system Smooth operation—clicks into place on keg posts and is easily removed Built-in flare washer—no need for a separate nylon washer that is required with stainless steel QDs CMBecker is an international manufacturer of beverage dispensing solutions for both home and professional draft equipment Gray plastic clearly identifies the disconnect as the gas in QD Sleep a little easier knowing this gas in ball lock with built-in check valve has your back. The internal check valve allows gas to flow out, but won't allow backflow of liquid into your gas system. Many manifolds and regulators already feature check valves, but this disconnect will keep liquid from ever entering your gas lines in the first place. Especially handy if you force carbonate your beer using the bev out dip tube! Why we love it:  Because we've had beer shoot back into our gas line and that sucks. At some point you will have a keg that is pressurized more than the pressure in your gas system. This could be caused by different carbonation levels, a keg sitting at room temperature, etc. So for example if the pressure in your keg is at 20 psi and your regulator is set at 12 psi, when you connect your gas in quick-disconnect liquid shoots from the keg into the gas line. Eliminate that possibility with this ingenious fitting.      Features: Internal Check Valve protects your system from liquid back flow Made in Germany and assembled in the USA by CMB. Extremely high quality for years of service. NSF Approved for Food Grade Service!

Plastic PET Carboy - 3 Gallon Ported with Spigot

    3 reviews

The ported version of our popular PET Plastic carboy. No more siphoning thanks the hole located 2 inches from the base of the unit. This version comes with our trusty plastic bucket spigot (FE347). To install the spigot you will need the installation tool (FE311A) to hold the nut in place as you thread in the spigot. Your days of lugging heavy glass carboys around are over thanks to these plastic carboys! Our Plastic Carboys are made from 100% Virgin PET plastic, which is far more resistant to oxygen than regular plastic. They’re much lighter and safer than glass, which is good if you need to move your fermenter around the house to find the right temperature. Full carboys can be heavy and hard to maneuver and glass can break resulting in possible injury. In addition to being safer to handle, they’re more economical than glass as well. With no ribs on the sides, there’s no place for yeast and sediment to collect, making cleaning a breeze. We suggest cleaning them with an overnight PBW soak, shake, rinse, and sanitize. You’ll want to avoid vigorous scrubbing during cleaning to avoid scratches. Two special features we love about our PET Carboys are the punted base and extra head space. The punted base makes the carboy easier to hold while carrying or pouring, and prevents sediment disturbance during transfers. The extra head space is a huge plus to make sure you have enough room for when your fermentation gets going. Specifications: Uses a #10 stopper or a 5 Gallon Carboy Hood. Weighs 1.0 lbs Rated to 140 degrees F Height: 16 inches Diameter: 9 inches Completely taste and odor free Punted base to prevent sediment disturbances during transfer Spigot included

  • Irish Stout Flash Brewing Kit - 2 Gallons Irish Stout Flash Brewing Kit - 2 Gallons

Flash Brewing® | Irish Stout | 2 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Just Mix & Ferment

    2 reviews

Flash Brewing® Kits from MoreBeer!® require only 10 minutes to brew. Just mix and ferment. An easy-drinking Irish-style stout with a smooth, clean finish, soft malt character, and a touch more hop presence than you’d expect for the style. Balanced, refreshing, and full of subtle flavor. Flavored with Cascade Cryo Hops® Estimated ABV: 4.9% Estimated IBUs: 15 Makes 2 gallons of finished beer Irish Stout Flash Brewing® KitIrish Stout is built for the same reason the best pub stouts endure: it’s approachable, balanced, and designed for another pint. Instead of leaning hard into heavy roast, this recipe focuses on a smooth, rounded malt profile with a gentle dark edge—think light cocoa, toasted grain, and a hint of coffee—then finishes clean and crisp. Cascade Cryo Hops bring a restrained but noticeable hop character that plays surprisingly well with the dark malt profile. You’ll pick up subtle citrus and a touch of classic American hop flavor that keeps the beer lively and modern without pulling it out of stout territory. It’s a small twist that makes the beer especially fun for craft beer enthusiasts—familiar enough to feel classic, but different enough to keep you paying attention. This is the kind of beer you crack when the day’s done: a weeknight pint, a game-day staple, something to bring to a backyard hang, or the darker option in the cooler that still drinks light on its feet. If you enjoy the smooth, approachable stout experience of Guinness Draught, Murphy’s, or Beamish, you’ll recognize the overall “easy pint” balance immediately—just with a brighter hop accent than you might expect. Flash Brewing® KitsMoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing® Kits are designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers. These innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home. Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing® eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing® malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Equipment Required for Flash Brewing®Flash Brews can be fermented in any wide mouth 3-gallon fermenter you already own. We suggest a wide mouth fermenter so you can easily pour in the ingredients. The 3-gallon Fermonster fermenter is a perfect choice. If you are new to brewing and need a fermentation kit, See related product. Stainless Bucket Fermenter w/ Heating - 65L/17.1G (110V)

    1 review

If you've been looking to step up from fermenting in plastic buckets or carboys, this is an excellent choice for your next fermenter. Stainless steel is a much better option than glass or plastic, as it is extremely easy to clean and virtually lasts forever. There's also much less chance of contamination as stainless doesn't scratch like plastic. Over time, you'll get scratches in plastic fermenters from normal wear and tear, creating microscopic havens for bacteria. Meanwhile, glass carboys are always at risk of breaking which is something you will never have to worry about with stainless steel. The Bucket Buddy is a great value if you're looking for a stainless steel fermenter with built-in heating control. If you live in a cold climate, ale fermentations may be a seasonal affair, as cold ambient temperatures can easily drive down the temperature of your wort below your yeast's optimal fermentation temp range. The Bucket Buddy offers a simple solution with an integrated heating element and digital temperature control. Program your fermentation temperature and if the temp drops below your set point the unit will gently heat your wort from the bottom up via the concealed element located in the base. For cooling, you can place the fermenter in a dedicated refrigerator or drill into the lid to install a Temp Twister Cooling Coil. A temperature controller probe can then be taped to the side of the fermenter to control your cooling source, or you can drill another spot in the lid for a thermowell. Another advantage over carboys and plastic buckets is the domed base inside the fermenter which is great for yeast flocculation when fermentation is complete. The included racking arm will make it easy to transfer out every last drop of beer while leaving the yeast cake undisturbed. The entire racking arm and ball valve assembly is weldless, which means you can remove the assembly to clean and sanitize it between batches. You can even boil the assembly for added assurance that it's been sterilized. To help maintain a steady temperature and cut down on power consumption, the Bucket Buddy pairs well with either the BrewZilla Neoprene Jacket. This unit comes standard with silicone tubing to transfer from the ball valve to your bottles or cans, as well as a stopper and airlock for the domed lid. Specifications: 304 stainless steel construction 17.1 gallon total capacity Digital temperature control 110V / 60W power Stainless steel outlet valve with rotating racking arm Temperature reads in °F or °C With elements turned off, hold both +/- buttons to switch between °F or °C Please note: Heating capacity is highly dependent on ambient temperature and use of insulation. The 65L Bucket Buddy is appropriate for warm fermentations such as kveik. Adding insulation may increase heating capacity while colder ambient environments may lower heating capacity. Wondrous Brewing Company Creek Park West Coast IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Wondrous Brewing Company A refreshing West Coast IPA with notes of citrusy lemon, grapefruit, and gooseberry Includes Centennial, Citra®, and Nelson hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 53 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Creek Park from Wondrous Brewing Company in Emeryville, CA is an incredibly refreshing West Coast IPA hopped with Nelson, Citra® and Centennial. All three hops are incorporated at each stage of the hopping schedule from the late boil aroma addition, to whirlpool, to dry hopping. With no specialty grains in the malt bill to distract your senses, you'll hone right in on the delicious hop character of citrusy lemon, grapefruit and gooseberry.  This kit recipe was given to us by our friend and former MoreBeer! employee, Wynn Whisenhunt. One of the many MoreBeer! past employees to turn pro, Wynn is now the owner and head brewer of Wondrous Brewing Company. If you want to brew it as they do at Wondrous, Wynn suggests using WLP001 California Ale yeast for fermentation. Ferment until complete at 66°F then dry hop and raise the temp to 68°F for 6 days. D-test then crash! If you're kegging, force carb to 2.6 volumes of CO2. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.059-63 SRM (Color Range): 4-5 IBUs: 53 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Citra® is a registered trademark owned by Yakima Chief Hops, LLC.
