Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
Stop leaving clean, perfectly good, wine or beer in your tank and always drain from the perfect height with our tri-clover style rotating racking arms. Remove your existing tri-clamp butterfly valve and place this rotating racking arm between the tank and your valve. When it is time to rack off slightly loosen the clamp nearest the tank and use the built-in handle to rotate to just about the lees level.
A white rotatable gasket is placed between the welded in tank fitting and this rotating arm. Because the micro finish of the gasket is hard and slippery it allows the rotating arm to rotate in place. A standard black EPDM gasket is placed between the rotating arm and the butterfly valve and is always kept completely tightened.
The length of the arm after the elbow is 10.5" allowing you to draw from roughly 8" above or below the valve level. The arm measures 9.5" from the TC fitting to the elbow. We suggest you assemble the rotating arm and butterfly valve in such a way that the arm is pointed in the same direction as the handle on your butterfly valve. In this manner you always know how the racking arm is positioned in your tank.

Feeling a little rebellious? Like a pale ale that has gone astray? While the Renegade Rye doesn't break all the rules, it certainly deserts the path of an average pale ale! The backbone of this brew contains over 15% rye malt, which adds slight fruity and spicy characteristics to the malt flavors. The clean bitterness from Magnum hops allows these malt flavors to mix perfectly with the aromas of Columbus, Citra®, and Centennial hops.
So go ahead, brew the Renegade Rye, and rebel against standard pale ales!

Nearly identical to popular Fuggles hops, Styrian Goldings hops are a low alpha varietal with a lovely, traditional European aroma. Commonly utilized in Belgian Ales, Lagers, and ESBs for that smooth, slightly spicy, and delicate noble aroma, Styrian Goldings could easily take the place of Willamette or Fuggles in any recipe. The name Styrian Goldings covers what can actually be a few different varietals grown in Slovenia (confusing for sure). Our Styrian Goldings is the Celeia varietal.

The Hop Bong is a versatile pressurizable tri-clamp accessory, capable of not only dry hopping oxygen purged hops into fermenters, but also as an inline carbonation/oxygenation accessory. This particular sized tri-clamp Hop Bong was designed for the FermZilla Tri-Conical and All Rounder fermenters with the new Tri-Clamp Adapted Pressure Lid. It can also be adapted to any 2" T.C. port in your system to use either inline or as a dry hopping device. The side port features PCO1881 male threads so you have the option to add a Ball Lock Cap. When used as a dry hopping device on top of your fermenter, this will allow you to purge your additions of oxygen by flushing them with CO2. When used as a sight glass below your fermenter, bubble CO2 from the bottom up via the Ball Lock Cap to rouse hops or carbonate finished beer. Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, California. It seems to some that Matt has almost been bred to brew beer. After getting a degree in chemistry in 1993, Matt went to work in Michigan doing research and development on hops for the brewing industry. In 1995, Matt went to the famous Seibel Institute of Brewing Technology to further his education. After brewing for Goose Island in Chicago and then moving to California to work for SLO Brewing, Matt was appointed Small Brewmaster of the Year in 2001. Later that year, he was asked to join the crew at Firestone Walker. Two years later Matt was dubbed Mid-Sized Brewer of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest AND at the World Cup of Beer, for a total of 12 medals in just three years! Since then, Firestone Walker has been gaining a large following in California due in part to it's flagship beer, Double Barrel Ale, which is produced in a Burton Union system that has the beer fermenting in barrels. Firestone Walker Brewing Company is the only brewery in the U.S. to ferment in barrels and one of only two in the world. In addition to the line-up at Firestone Walker, Matt also brews the Nectar Ales line of beers, as well as a few of the Trader Joe's house brands. Learn more at www.firestonebeer.com
Don't let the name fool you, this beer is easy on the oak, having been created so that all ingredients blend perfectly with one another, even the oak. In fact, the oak really takes a back seat to the wonderful malt characteristics that this beer presents, which may be hard to imagine once you realize there are 2 ounces of oak in this one! A blend of American and English base malts provide the foundation for this beer. A little Munich, some crystal, and that's it - simple, yet flavorful. Just how we like it. One can easily spend all night drinking this smooth amber ale ... in fact, many of us at MoreBeer! have done just that! The low bitterness ties everything together and makes you remember just how much of a craft brew this beer really is.

Metal champagne wires for securing champagne stoppers and corks.
To use, first insert plastic or cork champagne stopper. Set a champagne wire on top, grasp the protruging metal loop, and twist to secure.
The Blichmann ThruMometer In-line Thermometer is a great way to know the temperature of your wort while it's being transferred. Very helpful when using a counterflow or plate chiller to read the temperature of your wort going into the fermenter. Made of heat-treated highly corrosion resistant aluminum. Reads from 58°F - 88°F, and has 1/2" in and out posts.
Note- Clean with mild detergent only, using warm (no hotter than 140°F) water. Do not soak in the same bucket as other metals, as this could result in galvanic corrosion to the aluminum. After use, dry thoroughly and store in the protective plastic tube.
A classic Porter recipe with a smooth, creamy body and delicious roasty flavor
Includes Northern Brewer and Cascade hops
Estimated ABV: 4.8%
Estimated IBUs: 31-34

A classic Porter recipe and a fantastic first dark beer! A super drinkable, smooth, delicious beer that everyone loves. Chocolate and Black Patent malts are the defining malts that give Porter its dark color and roasty flavor. Our recipe also features dextrin powder which gives it a creamy body. The Northern Brewer hops impart a nice, but not overpowering, bitterness.
This recipe was designed by Regan Dillon, original MoreBeer! partner, whose favorite beer style was Porter. Regan has made this Porter recipe since the 1980's so you can be assured it has passed the test of time. Jamil Zainesheff, owner of Heretic Brewing, said this Porter was the first inspiration for his future Porters, such as Shallow Grave. High praise!

This Ball Lock QD With Pressure Gauge and Adjustable PRV is a great accessory to have when performing pressure transfers. Made from stainless steel components for long-lasting quality. Features the Torpedo Keg gas-in disconnect and adjustable stainless gas pressure relief valve (D1833L). This model also features a pressure gauge that reads from 0-15 psi. Don't need the gauge? Check out the FIL42S.
Pressure Transfers
You may have done pressure transfers from keg to keg during filtering or after fining. During pressure transfers, it's a good idea to have a bit of head pressure in the receiving keg, especially if you're transferring beer that is already carbonated. Having an adjustable pressure relief valve in place will allow you to consistently control the head pressure and give you more consistent results, without losing carbonation in the process.
Note: The very end of the pressure relief valve can be adjusted by unscrewing the knurled adjustment knob. If too tight and not adjustable by hand, wrap a towel around the adjustment knob and loosen with pliers. Then finger tighten or loosen to desired pressure.
In order to get the cleanest tasting neutral spirit, carbon filtering is a must. Filtering your spirit through activated carbon will remove impurities, such as fusel oils, that give the spirit a harsh taste or smell. This polishing process is used by distilleries when they want to achieve the cleanest, most neutral spirit possible. This kit comes with all the pieces needed to build a simple funnel-style carbon filter.

Convection toasted Oak Cubes made in the US from French Oak.
These Oak Cubes impart similar flavors as the equivalent oak type and toast level chip, but extract more slowly giving you more control over the final impact in your beer.
These cubes are produced from staves of French oak that have been air-seasoned for 18-24 months, then toasted to a Medium Toast. They will add a sweet, butterscotch note with hints of Vanilla and Spice to your beer.
Suggested dosage is 2-4 oz per 5 gallons of beer.

WEST COAST is a refined evolution of the classic American ale strain engineered for modern brewing while honoring its proven roots
Clean, versatile, and reliable, it’s ideal for brewers seeking subtle depth without compromising balance at an unbeatable value
Designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no pre-oxygenation before pitching required
Ferment between 59-72°F
WEST COAST is a refined evolution of the classic American ale strain engineered for modern brewing while honoring its proven roots. It delivers the same clean, dependable performance as CALI, with just a trace of fruit character that lends a quiet depth to the final beer. When fermented under pressure up to 12 PSI, WEST COAST can be pushed warmer to help reduce turnaround time while producing an even cleaner profile with its subtle fruit character pushed further into the background. This nuance stays well in the background, complementing rather than competing with hops or malt. Ideal as a house strain, WEST COAST can refresh a Flagship recipe or anchor a new one, offering robust, reliable fermentations every time. Designed for simplicity, it can be pitched directly into wort no oxygenation or rehydration required.
Flocculation: Medium to High
Fermentation: Range: 59-72ºF (15-22°C)
Pressure-Ready: Performs great under pressure up to 12 PSI
Attenuation: Approximately 75–84%
Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV
Direct Pitch: No rehydration needed
Reliable & Consistent: Every batch undergoes PCR testing for quality
High Cell Count: 15g per sachet—over 36% more than standard 11g dry yeast packs
Dosage:
One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly.
Like all CellarScience yeast, WEST COAST offers professional-grade performance for both homebrewers and craft brewers at an unbeatable value. If you love the clean versatility of CALI but want a touch more character, West Coast is your next go-to strain.

This is a no compromise, professional level hardware kit that allows for safe pressure fermentation in an X-Series Uni Conical. If you plan to ferment, or to seal/cap an active fermentation, in your BrewBuilt X-Series Conical you must use this Brewbult Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure. During fermentation Krausen can potentially clog the PRV that is built into the lid. The hardware in this kit is the same as what you will find on a commercial Unitank. This is not an all-in-one unit. All-in-one units are cheaper but not as safe.
Component Break Down:
Commercial Grade Spunding Valve - The kit is built around a commercial Spunding Valve that allows you to set your desired fermentation pressure. if that ferementation pressure exceeds your set point, it will blow off any excess pressure from the X-Series Conical. The clear cup holds liquid acting as an airlock and allowing krausen to exit. The Spunding valve is also adjustable.
Pro Grade PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) - On all brewery pro tanks, a tri-clamp PRV is always installed in addition to a Spunding Valve. This is because a Spunding Valve still has the potential to clog. The pro PRV has a very wide interior body as to reduce the risk of clogging. The PRV is non-adjustable and comes preset to relieve pressure at 15 PSI.
Sealed Pressure Gauge - This is a liquid filled, sealed gauge. The bottom of the gauge is a thin plate of stainless that moves up or down in relation to pressure in the tank. That causes the oil in the gauge to compress which is what the gauge reads. When properly sealed, there is no way krausen can get into this gauge and cause a false reading. However, it is important to ensure the guage is sealed, otherwise, there is a risk that krasuen clogs the gauge giving you an inaccurate reading.
Foam Axe - Foam Axe is a silica-based krausen cutter used by commercial breweries to reduce krausen blow off while increasing foam retention in your beer. Using Foam Axe is required for every batch fermented under pressure, but we recommend it for all batches fermented in your X-Series Conical. Foam Axe helps keep krausen out of PRVs and other hardware which is always a good idea.
When your BrewBuilt Uni is outfitted with a Kit for Pressure Fermentation there are three devices for relieving pressure, including the PRV that is always built into the lid, the adjustable Spunding Valve, and the pro grade PRV.
Includes:
Commercial Grade BrewBuilt Spunding Valve
1 BAR (0.3–14.5 psi)
Hand Adjustable Blowoff
1.5" tri-clamp Connection
Made from 304 stainless steel with plastic liquid cup
Tri-Clamp Pressure Relief Valve (PRV)

Sealed, Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge
Calibrated to 2 BAR (30 psi)

CellarScience Foam Axe Krausen Reducer
Reduces krausen build up inside the fermenter
Connection Hardware
(3) 1.5" T.C. Clamps
(3) 1.5" EPDM T.C. Gaskets
WARNING! The use of the BrewBuilt Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure is required for performing Pressure Fermentations in your X-Series conical. The PRV built into the lid is not designed to be the only release point during a pressure fermentation.
WARNING! The use of Foam Axe is required to reduce krausen (foam from fermentation) production in the fermenter.
WARNING! Always release pressure, then remove the PRV built into the lid to ensure the conical is completely depressurized before removing fittings or the lid clamp. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.

Cloudburst Brewing in Seattle Washington is one of our favorite craft breweries. We met Steve Luke (owner and head brewer) up at the Yakima Fresh Hop Ale Festival and were thoroughly impressed with his beer. After tasting every beer at the festival, there was no question that the Cloudburst Wet Hop IPA was best in show.
Steve, being an ex-homebrewer, was happy to help MoreBeer! with one of his famous IPAs. If you are not familiar with the amazing Cloudburst IPAs he makes, you might be familiar with another IPA of his, Elysian Space Dust. Cloudburst brews up a constantly rotating selection of flavorful and unique brews. Stop by the tasting room the next time you are in Seattle; until then, you'll just have to brew up some Flashing Lights!

The Slimline Torpedo Keg series features a smaller diameter to maximize the space in your kegerator or keezer
Low2 lid O-ring reduces oxygen ingress by 96% compared to silicone O-rings when measured in a keg!
Brand new, all-stainless construction ball lock keg
Stackable with ball lock quick disconnects in place
Etched In and Out labels near the keg posts for easy identification
Rolled handles for a comfortable grip
Made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer with high-quality laser welded seams
Torpedo Kegs too wide? Want to squeeze another keg in your kegerator? The patented design, D794,899, of the Slimline Torpedo Keg is 9% more slim than the classic model with all the same great features. Coming in at about 1/4" thinner than standard Ball Lock Cornelius Kegs, this keg has welded stainless handles and the ability to stack kegs with fittings still in place all at a great price.
Quality First
Here at MoreBeer! we love nothing more than quality interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. Torpedo kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. This weld quality is possible because these kegs are made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.
Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. “In” and “Out” is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.
Low2 Keg Lid O-ring
Give your beverage the absolute best protection from oxygen staling with the Low2 keg lid O-ring. Even the most perfectly sealed keg is susceptible to oxygen ingress through the hatch O-ring—yes, even if the keg is under constant pressure with CO2! Even a leak-free, pressurized keg will release CO2 molecules as they pass through the lid O-ring itself, and conversely, Oxygen molecules will permeate through the O-ring and diffuse into the keg when they reach the surface area on the other side. The level of permeability is wide ranging and highly dependent on what material the O-ring is made from. Rather than the usual EPDM or Silicone, Low2 gaskets are made from a unique composition of Synthetic M-Class and Cross-Link Elastomers. This special blend has superior oxygen barrier properties that results in your beverage staying fresher for longer.
Taking your keg on the go? Don't leave home without a custom tailored Slimline Torpedo Keg Sleeve!

This clever drainer takes the hard work out of draining & drying out your carboy!
The Blue Carboy Drainer is a great way to drain your carboys without having to hold them upside down the entire time. It holds the carboy for you, in an inverted position, while the liquid drains. As a bonus, as long as your sanitized carboy is held upside down, it will remain sanitary and ready to fill. The mouth of the carboy is close to the ground resulting in a bit longer drying time than with other drainers, if you are using it for drying.
Please note that carboys fitted with neck handles will not fit in this drainer.
WLP051 is a big ester producer, showcasing notes of cherry and apple which compliment pale ales, blonde and brown ales Typically leaves some residual, lager-like sulfur compounds in finished beer Ideal for high gravity ales, American and English hoppy beers, as well as malty ambers, porters, and brown ales PurePitch® Next Generation offers a precise cell count across all strains so you can calculate the exact pitch rate you need for every batch Scan the barcode on the back of the package and enter your wort stats into the Pitch Rate Calculator
White Labs Yeast has been producing high-quality brewer's yeast since 1995 and continues to raise the bar in the art of fermentation Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch! This strain is more fruity than WLP001, and slightly more flocculent. Attenuation is lower, resulting in a fuller bodied beer. California V can be used to ferment scottish ales because of its lower attenuation than its sister strain WLP001. Try this yeast with Pale ales and IPA's. For a great experiment try splitting your wort into two separate fermenters and compare WLP001 with WLP051. Let us know what you think. To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 62-65F and let it rise to 66-68F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. PurePitch® Next Generation—now with more yeast, get a foolproof fermentation without a starter! Just twist the cap & pitch! Why PurePitch Next Gen versus other options? Typically yeast manufacturers use a range for how many yeast cells are going into each package. This can vary widely, especially from strain to strain. Next Gen offers a far more precise cell count across all strains allowing you to use the Whitelabs exclusive pitch calculator. Simply scan the barcode on the back of each package to be taken to their online calculator. Enter the volume, strength, and pitching temperature of the wort you are fermenting and the calculator tells you exactly how much yeast to pitch. You will be fermenting like a professional brewer, using the same concentration of yeast every time and enjoying more consistent results. Don't need a full package? Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for your next batch. Whitelabs has also increased the viability (the number of living cells in the package) over the shelf life of the yeast. Next Gen strains are grown in their unique, small-batch reactors to assure freshness and then packaged in a special film that allows for off-gassing, assuring that their viability is absolutely industry leading. Attenuation: 72-78% Flocculation: Medium to High Alcohol Tolerance: 8-12% ABV Optimum Fermentation Temp: 66-70°F Cell Count: 150 Billion For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast. Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

Charlie Essers (AKA Push Eject) has been a longtime friend of MoreBeer, The Brewing Network, and homebrewers in general. Dubbed "one of the nicest guys in homebrewing" by those who know him, Push wanted us to have this recipe that he brews whenever his father-in-law comes for a visit. Push says: "My family has been supportive of all the brewing gadgets and scattered projects including my "dark-beer-phobic" father-in-law. This recipe is an Americanized pilsner that I have evolved for him over the years. Sweeter than a standard pilsner, but still crisp and refreshing, I can't keep this around long in the Summer months." Push began brewing in 1999 after buying a starter homebrew kit as a bad joke for a friend who earned a DUI and getting one for himself as well on impulse at the register. After going all grain in 2002, it was clear that automation was a necessity in his process, and his love of brewing gadgets was born. His first stand was designed and built in 2003 and his first Wort-O-Matic control panel in 2006. These led to the launch of wortomatic.com and a close relationship with MoreBeer! and The Brewing Network. Try Push's beer out and let him know what you think - Hopefully it keeps your father-in-law happy, too!

This insulated tubing kit was developed specifically for the BrewBuilt Jacketed Conical. It has all the fittings needed to connect an IceMaster Glycol Chiller to the conical jacket's 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet—plus premium quick disconnects with shutoff valves that provide a "dry break" when they're disconnected. That means no cooling solution leaking all over your brewery every time you take the system apart for cleaning. The Female QDs are installed on the insulated tubing, and the Male QDs are installed on the T.C. x FPT Adapters that connect to the cooling jacket's inlet and outlet.
Insulated tubing will now only provide increased chilling efficiency, it will also eliminate line sweating so you don't need to wipe up puddles of condensation that might collect on your brewery's floor during fermentation or cold crashing.
Kit Includes:
1 - Insulated Tubing Set (2 x 6' lines)
2 - High Temp Plastic Female QDs w/ 3/8" Barb
2 - High Temp Plastic Male QDs w/ 1/2" MPT
2 - 1.5" Tri-Clamps
2 - 1.5" T.C. Gaskets
2 - 1.5" T.C. x 1/2" FPT Adapters
Introducing the X-Dry Series Chugger Pumps! These pumps offer the same great quality we've come to expect from Chugger, but now feature Run-Dry Protection. Although the Chugger still needs to be primed before each use, the X-Dry Series offers a new level of protection from damage due to cavitation.
The Chugger lineup of pumps represents a great value for an even better price. These pumps are workhorses in the brewery. Featuring a robust flow rate of 7 gpm, and a magnetic drive designed to handle back-pressure, these pumps are a great addition to any brewing setup! The Stainless Steel Chugger showcases their molded Stainless Steel Pump Head. This stainless pump is a steal for the price, and we've been more than happy with the quality! Use this to ease transfers between kettles, cool wort via a counterflow chiller, or recirculate icewater for quicker chilling!
The Chugger pump model has 1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet, allowing easy integration with your T.C. kettles or fermenter! We recommend setting these pumps up with a butterfly valve on the outflow side, this way you can throttle down the outgoing flow rate, allowing for more efficient sparges or cooling! The pump head can also be rotated 360° (in 90° intervals) allowing for even more customization!
Features:
Run Dry Carbon Bearing
Stainless Steel Center Inlet Pump Head
Food Grade up to 250° F
1.5" tri-clamp inlet and outlet
High Flow rate of 7 gpm
Max Head 18.6 ft
115v 55" cord and plug attached
50/60 Hz, 1.4 amp
1/20 HP, 3500 RPM
Note: When using silicone tubing, we recommend using a slighlty larger barb than the I.D. of the tubing. This is because silicone tubing tends to have greater pliability than most tubing. For example, when using 1/2" silicone tubing, we recommend our 5/8" barb (H620), to help ensure a better seal!
Rhizomes are now in stock and orders are being fulfilled. If you haven't ordered your rhizomes yet, this is your last chance till next season!

Ripe honeydew, papaya and tropical melange, white peach and fleshy pear. Vista hops are the most recent release from the USDA public breeding program. The public hop breeding program is unique in that it exists to broadly benefit the entire hop and brewing industries, whereas private programs look more at explicit private financial gain. The USDA public breeding program bred the genetic hop base on which American craft beer was built: Cascade, Centennial, Cluster. And continues to innovate to adapt towards new DDH hazy, juicy IPA brewer and consumer preferences with releases like Cashmere, Triumph, and now Vista.
Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.
Shipping Restrictions:
Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

Packed with hops in the kettle and finished with fresh oranges in the fermenter, this IPA is primed to explode in your mouth
Includes Columbus, Simcoe®, and Centennial hops
Estimated ABV: 6.5%
Estimated IBUs: 75-80
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
Remember your parents scaring you with "Be careful of firecrackers, they can explode in your hand!" Well let us warn you right now... our new, juicy M-80 IPA is going to explode in your mouth. It's going to be crazy. Flavors going everywhere. Maybe your parents would tell you to use caution and not to make this beer. But your grown up now, making adult decisions (most of the time), and we think you've earned the right to buy a beer kit with a fuse and a lighter. With a slight smile and a wink of the eye, we say "go ahead... have some fun".
Let us tell you about the inner workings of this bomb. Sure it has big IPA malt, but you want to know about the hops. It starts with an unreasonable amount of Simcoe®, Columbus, and Centennial hops. By themselves these are all explosive hops, but together they combine to bring true, huge IPA hop flavor. Because of the similarity of hops, one MoreBeer! staffer dubbed it a mini "Pliny The Elder... but with orange". High praise indeed.
Did you just say Orange? Well done sir, good paying attention. What really sets this IPA apart from the masses is that the recipe calls for you to cut up and add three fresh oranges into the fermenter. Crazy? We thought so. But that is what we love about our Signature Series of Beer Kits, a selection of crazy, unique beers that really stand out. M-80 IPA was designed and created by your fellow homebrewer, Carlos Musquez. We do admit he went a little AWOL on this kit and into uncharted territory, but we love a rebel.
You will need to supply the three fresh oranges... we'd ship them to you, but they would get a little squishy.

There are certain beers that you can't help but associate with a specific time of year, and there might be no better example than Sierra Nevada's Celebration IPA. As the year begins to wind down and we enter the holiday season, our eyes instinctively start scanning the shelves for those striking red labels. Once you've enjoyed that first pint of Sierra's signature seasonal release, it's hard to resist leaning into the holiday spirit. Sierra brews this recipe every year with their most recent haul of fresh, hand-selected hops, making each release slightly unique to past iterations. Even though our clone kit doesn't contain fresh hops, we strived to make a recipe that celebrates the character of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops with heaps of citrus, piney, and floral notes.
Our Holiday Hops kit is a classic West Coast IPA with a distinct, but balanced malt character, deep reddish color and plenty of hop bitterness to match the bite of winter weather. Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops are employed up and down the brew schedule, from the top of the 90-minute boil to the final dry hop addition days before packaging. We highly recommend using a Chico yeast strain for fermentation—it's a Sierra Nevada ale recipe after all!

HEFE produces classic banana and clove notes for traditional Hefeweizen
Contributes to a smooth body, persistent haze, and high drinkability
Designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no pre-oxygenation before pitching required
Ferment between 59-77°F
Pressure-Ready Performs great under pressure up to 12 PSI
HEFE is a top-fermenting dry yeast, crafted specifically for wheat beers. It produces the hallmark banana and clove aromas expected in traditional Hefeweizen styles, with a clean, smooth finish and excellent drinkability. HEFE produces bright, refreshing wheat beers with pronounced banana notes (isoamyl acetate) at the higher end of its temperature range. Subtle clove character (4-vinyl guaiacol) at the lower end. Expect a smooth body and a persistent, signature haze. For brewers using pressure-capable fermenters, HEFE performs great up to 12 PSI, allowing warmer, faster fermentations while dialing back its classic banana and clove expression for a noticeably cleaner profile.
Fermentation Temperature: 59-77°F (15-25°C), optimal range 64-72°F (18-22°C)
Attenuation: 80–91%
Alcohol Tolerance: Up to 10% ABV
Flocculation: Low
Direct Pitch: No rehydration needed
Reliable & Consistent: Every batch undergoes PCR testing for quality control
High Cell Count: 15g per sachet (over 36% more than standard 11g dry yeast packs)
Dosage:
One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly.
Like all CellarScience yeasts, HEFE offers professional-grade performance for both homebrewers and craft brewers, delivering exceptional quality at an unbeatable value.

Horizontal ports on the cone, just like pro tanks, allowing your racking arm, carbstone, and thermometer to have a horizontal placement in your tank. This allows for smaller minimum batch sizes, better carbonation, and more
3" oversized bottom port and Butterfly Valve with 3” tri-clamp Flex Chamber collection vessel
The new X3 from BrewBuilt sets the new standard for quality. We guarantee that you will love the fit and finish of the X3 Uni Jacketed Conical. Made entirely of 304 stainless steel, with flawless welds and a dazzling mirror-polish finish inside and out that is simply the best. The BrewBuilt X3 Uni is easy to sanitize and even easier on the eyes. It is definitely Instagram worthy! #BrewBuilt
External Cooling Jacket
When it comes to temperature control for a homebrew conical fermenter the holy grail has been an external cooling jacket. Internal cooling coils have long been the answer and while they are simpler to make and relatively inexpensive, they are harder to clean and have issues cold crashing in warm environments. The BrewBuilt X3 Jacketed Conical offers maximum cooling power without any compromise of sanitation.
8” Tri-Clamp Top Port
New to the X3, the 8” Tri-Clamp lid is rock solid and easy to use. The 8” opening allows plenty of space to still get in and clean the inside of the conical by hand if desired. A unique 8”, three-piece, tri-clamp is used to make sealing the top very easy and very secure.
Extra Large 3” T.C. Dump Valve
The largest in the industry. Dry hop to your heart's desire. Try as they might, hopheads will have a hard time clogging this conical. With an oversized 3" bottom port, you’ll have all the clearance you need (and even more than some pro brewers) to drop out your dry hop additions with ease. The slick mirror-polish finish on the inside allows flocculating yeast to collect neatly at the bottom of the cone as they slide right down the smooth interior walls. The butterfly dump valve integrates perfectly with the optional Flex Chamber Collection Jar and Yeast Harvester.
Reinforced Four-Leg Foundation
There’s a common complaint about the tippiness of three-legged units. Three legs may be fine when the fermenter is sitting still on an even surface, but users are often forced to purchase a bracing shelf for more stability if they add casters or leg extensions. A conical is only as worthy as its foundation, so BrewBuilt modeled the X3 after professional-level brewery tanks with a four-leg, reinforced base. This seemingly small design feature is more expensive to produce, but it's what makes the X3 conical exceedingly stable when compared to other models. When you fill up your fermenter with delicious fresh wort, you want to trust the vessel that’s holding your latest creation. Brewers shouted from the mountaintops that they wanted stronger, sturdier legs right out of the box that doesn’t require an additional bracing shelf. The four-leg, welded-bar reinforced system is absolutely rock solid. This is an especially critical feature if you plan to add rolling casters so you can easily glide the fermenter around your brewery.
The reinforced four-leg design not only increased the stability and strength of the conical but also allows the unit to stand taller, thereby eliminating the need for extensions in almost every situation. An elbow, a sight glass, or the Flex Chamber can be mounted under the unit with room to spare.
Adjustable Feet
The X3 Jacketed Conical comes standard with reinforced thread-in adjustable feet. If your home brewery has uneven flooring, you can quickly and easily level out the fermenter. The feet can be swapped out with high-quality casters at any time.
Flex Chamber Collection Jar - Trub Separator & Yeast Harvester
Working in collaboration with KegLand, we developed the pressurizable Flex Chamber Collection Jar. It attaches directly to the butterfly dump valve and can be used for removing trub, harvesting yeast, and many other tasks. Since it's made from crystal clear Triton, you'll be able to visually monitor fermentation activity just as you would with a sight glass. Ball lock adapters can be attached to the threaded ports on either side, allowing you to connect oxygenation or carbonation stones, or flush the Flex Chamber with CO2 and use it to inject hops or other ingredients into your conical. Also, a great option for storing yeast! Simply attach a 3" T.C. end cap or PRV and store your harvested yeast in the fridge for your next fermentation.
Pressure Pack with Clear Float Technology
Adding pressure capability will allow you to ferment, carbonate, and even serve all in one vessel. The Pressure Pack features the unique Clear Float Technology racking tube that can be used for taking samples, transferring to keg, or serving finished beer. This innovative feature draws beer from the top down, which means you’re always pulling the clearest, most sediment-free beer possible. Using pressure to draw a sample from the floating dip tube will also eliminate the tiny bit of oxygen that would be injected into your beer every time the traditional sample valve is opened.
Pressure transferring from fermenter to keg is the best way to protect your beer from oxygen when it’s at its most vulnerable state. Kegging could be considered the final hurdle in the brewing process, where limiting oxygen exposure is critical. This could mean the difference between your beer tasting great for months or tasting great for a week. Don’t take any chances. Use the Pressure Pack to keg from the top down and leave sediment behind.
Other Features You’ll Love:
Downward-facing Blowoff U Barb prevents blow off tubing from kinking and is much easier to remove and clean than a fixed stainless blow off
Stainless steel lid clamp with single-piece molded silicone gasket
In our GEN 3 redesign, we've added two more 1.5" T.C. ports to the cone and body for additional flexibility with current and upcoming product add-ons
X3 Accessories:
BrewBuilt Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure (Required to ferment or seal/cap an X3 with an active fermentation)
The Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) that comes with the conical is not sufficient for fermentation as it can become clogged with Krausen. To ferment or seal/cap an active fermentation requires the use and safety of the Pressure Fermentation Kit. This no-compromises kit includes the same hardware you will find on a commercial unitank, including a dedicated pro level spunding valve, a sealed pressure gauge, and a dedicated commercial PRV. Read more about these key hardware features in the kit copy. Also included is liquid Foam-Axe which helps reduce Krausen. Please read and follow all special instructions that come with the kit as well as your instruction manual.
Hop Bong Oxygen-Free Dry Hopping Device
The Hop Bong is a versatile pressurizable tri-clamp accessory that is perfect for purging oxygen from your dry hops before dropping them into your fermenter. Load up the Hop Bong, flush it with CO2, purge out oxygen with the handy PRV on top, then simply open the Butterfly Valve to inject your beer with a 6 oz payload of dry hops.
High Roller Caster Set
Go mobile with this heavy-duty caster set. Your fermenter moves around the brewery a lot, so why not give it some glide? Roll from sanitizing to kettle transfer to keg transfer to cleaning with minimal effort. Moving a stainless conical around can be taxing. Give your back a break and upgrade your conical with a set of rolling casters.
IceMaster Max 2
Built to pair perfectly with the IceMaster Max 2 glycol chiller. Easily and efficiently control your fermentation temperature and cold crash for conditioning and clarifying. Pair with our BrewBuilt Insulated Tubing Kit that comes complete with premium quick disconnects with shutoff valves that provide a “dry break” when they’re disconnected.
Immersion Heater
The X3's cone features a 2" tri-clamp port specifically for installing an Immersion Heater. The low watt density heating element gently warms your fermenting beer without scorching. A must-have for brewers living in colder climates or if you want the peace of mind that your temperature will never drop too low for your ale or kveik strains regardless of the time of year.

Installation Note: The Pressure Pack's Clear Float floating dip tube is sized to fit all models of the BrewBuilt Conical. Depending on the size of your fermenter, you may need to shorten the silicone tube for better performance. When installed on your empty fermenter, you ideally want the dip tube to hang freely with just enough length for the end of the dip tube to touch the bottom of the tank.
