    BrewBuilt™ IceMaster Max 2 Glycol Chiller | 2 Built-In Temperature Controllers & Pumps - Refurbished

    1 review

The ultimate control & precision of your fermentation process. Equipped with two built-in temperature controllers and pumps, this advanced chiller enables you to independently regulate the temperature of two separate fermentation vessels simultaneously, ensuring optimal conditions for different batches or styles of beer, making it a game-changer for homebrewers. 2 built-in submersible pumps with independent digital controllers Control multiple fermentation temperatures independently Fill with 20% glycol solution for optimal chilling performance Cold crash with good insulation Perfect complement to BrewBuilt X-Series Conicals The IceMaster Max 2 is designed to cool fermentations in small vessels. It features 2 built-in submersible pumps with independent digital temperature controllers and can be used with any vessel that has a glycol jacket or submersed cooling coil/rod. Each controller includes a temperature probe that should be inserted into a thermowell in your vessel or can be taped to the outside of the vessel if you don't have a thermowell. The digital controller then measures the temperature of your tank and turns the submersible pump on or off to cool to your desired set temperature. Up to two tanks can be controlled separately with one IceMaster Max 2. The Max 2 is the perfect unit for brewers with 1 or 2 fermentation vessels. The IceMaster 100 and IceMaster Max 4 are terrific chillers, but for they have far more cooling capacity than the average homebrewer needs. The Max 2 is the most affordable glycol chiller we offer, and thanks to the built-in submersible pumps and controllers, there's no need to purchase additional pump kits to use with your cooling system(s). Compatibility The IceMaster can be used with any fermenter that has a built-in cooling jacket, added CoolStix, or a submersed cooling coil. It works well as the cooling source for the following systems and fermenters. BrewBuilt Jacketed Uni Conical - we recommend one Insulated Tubing Kit for each tank. These kits feature "dry break" quick disconnects that prevent glycol loss and the insulated tubing will increase chilling efficiency and eliminate line sweating from condensation. CoolStix - CoolStix can be added to a wide range of carboys, fermenters, and tanks and the IceMaster works really well in combination. Each CoolStix is available with or without a pump kit; for use with the IceMaster Max 2 you will only need the CoolStix and some tubing to connect it to the chiller.   Ss Brewtech Fermenters and Brites - Ss BME Chronicals, BME Brites, and Unitanks come with cooling coils and neoprene as standard. The optional chilling FTSs will not be needed for use with the Max 2. Spike Conical with Optional Cooling Coil - the cooling coil for Spike CF series conicals is available for purchase independently from the TC-100 cooling system. For use with the Max 2 you will only need the coil and some tubing to connect it to the chiller. Speidel Tanks with Optional Cooling Jackets - You will need two lengths of tubing to connect the chiller to each tank.    Grainfather Fermenters - Grainfather fermenters have standard cooling jackets. You will need two lengths of tubing for each fermenter. Blichmann Fermenators with Optional Cooling Coil - You will need two lengths of tubing for each Fermenator. Capacity It is always difficult to determine exactly how many tanks can be chilled at one time as it depends on what is happening in each tank, if the tank is insulated, and what the ambient temperature is. Cold crashing always requires the most energy and requires tank insulation. We have experimented with capacities and can provide this general guide based on a 75°F ambient and neoprene insulation. Neoprene provides a modest amount of insulation so you would obtain better results using Armaflex or a higher R rated insulation.  At 75°F ambient temperature with neoprene insulation, the Max 2 can cold crash one 1 BBL BrewBuilt Jacketed Uni or two Jacketed Unis up to 15 gallons in size at one time to 38°F. Set Up In order to hook up the IceMaster to your fermenter or tank's cooling system, you will need 2 lengths of tubing per vessel. All tubing connections should be secured with hose clamps. The unit comes with JoinTech Male Quick Disconnects installed as the inlet/outlet bulkheads, and also includes Female QDs with barbs to connect your tubing to the bulkheads. QDs to connect tubing to your cooling system are not included as the connection type depends on your setup. Length 1: 1st bulkhead (IN) to cooling system outlet Length 2: 2nd bulkhead (OUT) to cooling system inlet Specifications: 2 built-in submersible pumps with independent digital controllers Pump controller reads in °F / °C Temperature controller reads in °C Labeled IN and OUT bulkheads with Male QD JoinTech Dry Break Quick Disconnects (4) Female QD JoinTech Dry Break Quick Disconnect w/ 1/2" Barb included Tank Capacity: 17 L / 4.5 Gal. Note that the top of the sight glass is open to allow overflow to drain out if the reservoir is overfilled. Warning: Do not set the reservoir temperature controller lower than 28°F (-2ºC). Running the unit below this temperature may negatively affect the unit's efficiency and has the potential to freeze beer which may impact the finished beer's flavor.

  • BrewBuilt X-Series Uni Conical - Pressure Pack with Clear Float Technology w/ Dip Tube Attachment BrewBuilt X-Series Uni Conical - Pressure Pack with Clear Float Technology w/ Dip Tube Attachment

BrewBuilt™ Pressure Pack with Clear Float Technology

The BrewBuilt Pressure Pack features a unique floating racking tube that can be used for taking samples, keg transfers, or serving finished beer. This innovative feature draws beer from the top down, which means you’re always pulling the clearest, most sediment-free beer possible. And with the included filter attachment, any floating vegetal matter will be blocked from ever entering the dip tube. Using pressure to draw a sample from the floating dip tube will also eliminate the tiny bit of oxygen that would be injected into your beer every time the traditional sample valve is opened. Pressure transferring from fermenter to keg is the best way to protect your beer from oxygen when it’s at its most vulnerable state. Kegging could be considered the final hurdle in the brewing process, where limiting oxygen exposure is critical. This could mean the difference between your beer tasting great for months or tasting great for a week. Don’t take any chances. Use the Pressure Pack to keg from the top down and leave sediment behind. Installs on the 4" T.C. port welded into the lid of the BrewBuilt X-Series Uni Conical. The 1.5" T.C. port on the pressure lid can be used for adding dry hops, installing the CoolStix™ for temperature control, or attaching a T.C. pressure relief valve during pressure fermentations. The welded hook underneath the pressure lid can be used to hang bagged hops or other additions. If you're interested in fermenting under pressure with the X-Series Uni, we recommend pairing the Pressure Pack with the Pressure Fermentation Kit. 4" T.C. Lid w/ 1.5" T.C. Port Gas In & Bev Out ball lock posts Clear Float dip tube Floating Dip Tube Filter Attachment included Welded hook for hanging drawstring bags 1.5" tri-clamp, gasket and end cap included Made from 304 stainless steel Warning! The BrewBuilt Pressure Pack is only designed to be used with BrewBuilt conicals that feature a pressure relief valve built into the lid. Failure to release pressure in the conical before remove fittings or the band clamp could result in injury or death.

  • Book - Brewing Better Beer

    Brewing Better Beer (Book)

    3 reviews

Author, Gordon Strong, three time Ninkasi Winner at the National Homebrewers Conference takes you on a homebrewing journey. Brewing Better Beer is a complete book how to brew great beer at home and win in competitions. A comprehensive format that includes tips, hints, examples, techniques, and recipes. Brewing Better Beer is the one book experienced homebrewers need to up their game. Gordon won the Ninkasi Award in 2008, 2009, and 2010. "Preparing for a homebrew competition helps you make better beer because it causes you to focus on what the judges will evaluate. So you have to optimize your brewing for the best consumer experience. If you can present a beer that will wow the judges, you can certainly have good beer on tap all the time at home." "I really appreciate a good American Pale Ale. I think it's a good mark as to the brewer's skill since it's so straight-forward. It also can have a wide range of interpretations, so it does allow for some brewer creativity." "I'm a Grand Master beer judge and the current president of the BJCP (www.bjcp.org). I firmly believe that becoming a beer judge is the single best thing a brewer can do to improve their beer since it helps you understand and evaluate your own products. It causes you to think about how the ingredients and processes result in what's in your glass, and to diagnose potential problems."

  • Refractometer - Dual Scale w/ ATC Refractometer - Dual Scale w/ ATC

    Brewing Refractometer - Dual Scale

    130 reviews

A refractometer is used to measure the density of a solution, in our case how much malt sugar is in solution. Featuring both a Brix scale AND a Specific Gravity Scale Our refractometer is unique in that it features both a Brix Scale and a Specific Gravity Scale, the scale most homebrewers use. Why use a Refractometer you ask? Are you tired of not hitting your desired target gravities? Have you tried to cool a large sample so you could use a hydrometer and see what your gravity is? A refractometer allows you take instant gravity readings, with just one drop, at any point during the boil, or even during the run off of the sparge during an all-grain brew. These 'during the process' readings allow you to add more water or boil longer so you can attain exactly the gravity you desire. Refractometer Statistics Our refractometer is hand held with a metal body, flexible eye piece and rubber grip. It features a 0 to 32% Brix scale and from 1.000 to 1.120 on the Specific Gravity Scale with .2% resolution and ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation). Traditional refractometers without ATC are calibrated to work at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The ATC function allows you to use the refractometer in an ambient temperature range of 50-86 degrees Fahrenheit (10-30 Celsius.) Because your sample is just one drop, and will quickly adjust to the temperature of the refractometer, the temperature of the sample is irrelevant. Our unit also comes with a manual calibration knob that is secured with a lock nut. To calibrate place one drop of distilled water on the testing platform and adjust to zero if necessary. Getting Geeky about why the Specific Gravity Scale on our unit is accurate Some dual scale refractometers feature a linear scale that multiplies brix by 4 to get Specific Gravity. This is okay at lower gravities up to around 1.040 but the higher your starting gravity goes, the less accurate the conversion is. For example, take a Brix reading of 10, multiply by 4, and you get a SG reading of 1.040 - the accurate SG reading is 1.041. Take a Brix reading of 20, multiply by 4, and you get 1.080 - the accurate conversion is 1.084. We worked with our Refractometer manufacturer to create a unit with a non linear conversion and thus this model can be accurately used for Specific Gravity readings. NOTE - Refractometers will not read correctly if alcohol is present. We have a spreadsheet that can be used to help determine your actual gravity or brix, and this can be found in the "Documents" tab above.

Brewing Thermometer - 2 in. x 12 in. Made in USA

    33 reviews

Not all bi-metal thermometers are created equally, so if you’re looking for one that you don’t have to constantly tap to get an accurate reading, this is the thermometer to choose.   Other bi-metal thermometers have a helical coil in the stem that is tack welded to the stem itself causing hang ups to occur, and you have to tap the thermometer to get an accurate reading. Our new line of thermometers feature a super sensitive bimetallic helical coil suspended from a copper coated bushing fixed in the stem. This superior design provides a faster response to temperature changes and assures more accurate readings.   It's accurate to 1% of the total range, and it features a polished 2" stainless steel housing, hermetically sealed waterproof case and glass face for maximum durability. The unique anti-parallax dial also makes for easy reading.    This dial thermometer should be calibrated at 150 °F. Its temperature range is 0-220 °F (-10 to 100 degrees °C).

    4 reviews

This carboy thermowell is used in conjunction with a Digital Controller to more accurately regulate internal temperature during fermentation. It is exceptionally useful during the start of fermentation when the lag between ambient temperature in the refrigerator and actual temperature in the carboy can vary greatly. Now you can keep your beer or wine within one degree of the set point on your digital controller. Designed to fit either 3, 5, 6, or 6.5 gallon glass carboys or any other similarly sized opening hole. The unit comes with a 15" stainless steel thermowell and a #6.5 stopper. The stopper has two holes measuring 3/8" and 1/4". Measures 14" from the bottom of the stopper to the end of the thermowell. • BrewRO System - PLACEHOLDER BrewRO System - PLACEHOLDER

    BrewRO Water Filtration System

    4 reviews

With the BrewRO System you can have access to purified water any time you want without ever leaving the house! This multistage RO/DI water purification system removes 99.9998% of contaminants in water, giving you a clean slate to custom tailor your water profile for your next recipe. Water produced from the BrewRO system is 0 parts per million total dissolved solids. Now that's pure!  Water chemistry is perhaps one of the most important (and most intimidating) aspects of brewing a great beer. After all, water is one of the main ingredients! If the tap water at home isn't up to snuff, you probably find yourself making a trip to the store before every brew day to load up on distilled water. Using distilled water is a great strategy that enables you to build your water profile from scratch. This gives you total control over the water's mineral content and pH, allowing you to create the ideal water profile for any particular style. But the gallons upon gallons of store bought distilled water quickly add up, and only increase the cost of each brew day. The BrewRO System comes in two configurations for either city water or well water. They function the same, but come with different filter configurations depending on your water source. Before entering the deionization filter and reverse osmosis membrane, the city water system runs water through two carbon filters, whereas the well water system runs through a sediment filter and then a single carbon filter. The system is conveniently contained within a carrying case with inlets and outlets built into the side. When you're ready to use the BrewRO, simply hook up the white inlet tube to your spigot with the included garden hose adaptor*, run the red "rejected water" tube to a storm drain or water reclamation bucket, and run the blue "treated water" tube to your collection vessel. It's that easy! Well Water System Features: Silver Case Sediment and Carbon Filters Reverse Osmosis Membrane Deionization Filter Hose Adapter 10 ft. of Red, Blue and White Tubing 3 System Plugs City Water System Features: Graphite Case 2 Carbon Filters (No Sediment Filter) Reverse Osmosis Membrane Deionization Filter Hose Adapter 10 ft. of Red, Blue and White Tubing 3 System Plugs Specifications: Collection Rate: Up to 100 gallons per day (4 gallons per hour) Contaminant Removal: Average 99.9998% pure or less than 2 ppm TDS Connections: Standard Hose Attachment NSF Certified Components Filter Life Expectancy: Sediment Filter: 6 - 12 months Carbon Filter: 6 - 12 months DI Filter: 6 months RO Membrane: 3 years Filter lives vary depending on usage, storage, and water quality *Faucet adapter and other accessories are available.
