Improve the flavor and quality of your beer by filtering your water.
This 10" Carbon Block Filter removes chlorine, organic flavor and sediment from your tap water to 10 micron. Open the housing after use and store the filter dry to prevent algae from growing inside the housing. Designed to work with our filter housing or any other standard, 10" housing. Good for 750 gallons.
We’ve been told by manufacturers that chloramines can be removed by carbon filtration if the water has a long contact time with the carbon. It is recommended to use at a fill rate of less than 1 gallon per minute in order to remove chloramines.
NOTE: This product should not be used in hot water applications. Cold water only!
This product is designed to filter water only.
NSF standard 42
BevBright's one micron filters are disposable, multi-zoned, cartridge style filters perfect for filtering beer with any standard 10" filter cartridge housing. BevBright achieves superior efficiency by being the first to spin different diameters of poly strands on the same filter core to create zones of filtration. The zone closest to the core contains consistent, tight fibers for final filtration while the final outer layer zone is spun with larger fibers for increased sediment holding capacity and increased flow capacity. The best of both worlds. By comparison typical spun poly water filters are spun with only one size of fiber. Note that these are True 10" Filter Cartridges that rely upon the housing being closed tightly in order to engage the Knife Seals & eliminate bypass.
1 Micron Filters
Use a 1 micron filter for crystal clear filtration when your beer has already naturally settled out. Too many yeast cells in solution will quickly clog a 1 micron filter. Is your beer cloudy to the eye? Try a 3 micron or 5 micron filter.
What Retention Efficiency rating should I choose?
We suggest you start with the 98% Super High Efficiency rated filters and adjust from there.
90% High Efficiency - Removes 90% of the material 1 micron or larger in a single pass.
98% Super High Efficiency - Removes 98% of the material 1 micron or larger in a single pass.
99.8% Absolute Efficiency - Removes 99.8% of the material 1 micron or larger in a single pass.
More Information on Efficiency Ratings
The efficiency rating tells you what % of material, at the given micron rating, will be filtered out in a single pass. Cheaper spun poly water filters are never rated for efficiency because they only remove 60-80% of the material at a given micron rating in a single pass. BevBright offer three levels of efficiency to fit any brewers budget or need.
The High Efficiency rated filters work better than any 1 micron rated hardware store spun poly filters . The Super High Efficiency filters represent great value. They remove 98% of material in a single pass for just a little bit more money. Absolute rated filters are more typically used in the wine industry but are available for discerning brewers that want the highest efficiency possible.

3 Micron Filters
3 micron filters are our recommended size if you have not filtered before. They are a good compromise between the fine filtration of 1 micron and the rougher filtration of 5 microns. Since yeast cells are sized between 5-10 micron a 3 micron filter will remove yeast.

5 Micron Filters
5 micron filters are the best choice when there is visible haze in your beer. A 5 micron filter will remove almost all yeast and is less likely to clog than a 3 or 1 micron filter. Already have pretty clear beer and just want to make it shine? Check out our 3 micron or 1 micron filters.

Clean up your beer and give it that sparkling clarity you see in commercial brews. Filtering removes yeast and dry-hop sediment, both of which can impart off flavors. It's also a great way to give your beer that extra edge in competition.
This two-pack of filter pads are for use with our FIL455 series of plate filters.
Rough pads will provide between 5-7 Micron filtration.

Get organized in your brew area and mount your water or beer filter assembly to a wall or directly to your system. Brackets are designed to mount to the top of the canister housing. Screws included.
Having trouble loosening the lid of your 10" filter housing (FIL32A)? This spanner wrench will make it much easier. Our BevBright® filters require a tight seal of the lid onto the filter and this wrench is specifically designed to fit our 10" filter housing.
Filter pad number 2 from Buon Vino for Polish Filtration. Fits the Buon Vino Mini Jet (FIL20). Requires one 3 pack to run the filter. Fine are approximately 2 microns.

"Sterile" pads will provide between 0.3-0.5 Micron filtration.
Please Note: These pads do not remove 100% of bacteria. Only an bsolute rated, 0.45 micron or less cartridge filter can remove all bacteria. All pad filters are rated as "Nominal" filters, meaning a small percentage of the pores in the filter are larger than the stated micron rating. Only certain styles of cartridge filters carry an "Absolute" rating, meaning that all the pores are the stated micron size or smaller.
A high quality 10" filter housing is the central part of the filtering system you are building up from scratch. Whether you're looking to filter your water ahead of brewing or your finished beer prior to bottling/kegging, this housing will be there to hold your filter media year after year.
The same 10" housing found in our FIL32 kit. It has 1/2" FPT ports on both the "in" and "out" of the housing, allowing you to connect hose barbs, valves, or quick disconnects for a fully customized system. Can even be mounted on the wall with our Filter Canister Bracket!
For -pre-brewing water filtration, we recommend a Carbon Block filter.
For Filter Cartridges to filter beer, see our line of BevBright® Filters.
Please Note: This housing is for 10" filter cartridges. Many cartridge filters are 9.785" long, and will allow some bypass if used with this housing. We recommend BevBright® filter cartridges.
If you are having trouble removing the lid, try this spanner wrench!

20 x 20 cm custom Filter Pad for use specifically with the Buon Vino Super-Jet Filter. Coarse pads are rated to 7 microns nominal, and are appropriate for initial clearing of red and white wines when particularly cloudy. With a nominal rated pad some material below the rating will be trapped and some material above the rating will be allowed to pass, the 7 micron represent an average.
Due to high demand, the pack of 200 is currently out of stock. Be the first to receive your items by placing a pre-order today. We will automatically ship this item to you when we receive more in mid January.
20 x 20 cm custom Filter Pad for use specifically with the Buon Vino Super-Jet Filter. Pads are rated nominally, which means that the rating is an average of all of the sizes of pores in the media. Fine pads are rated to 2 microns nominal, and are appropriate for polish filtration of red and white wines. Typically the finest filtration a red wine will go through.
For our FIL20 Buon Vino Mini Jet. Requires one 3 pack to run the filter.
When using the Buon Vino Mini Jet Filter with sterile pads the home winemaker will want to "pre-filter" the wine with polish pads (FIL16) if the volume is 5 gallons or more, or if the wine is particularly cloudy. The sterile filters clog too fast when there is any sediment present. Sterile filters are approximately .5 micron.
High quality, absolute rated .45 micron absolute filter with a hard caged body and gasketed ends. Thermally bonded end caps and ultrasonic welded media seams for a one piece construction. Absolute rated at 99.99% efficiency to remove bacteria for sterile filtering. Ideal for filtering white wine that has not completed a full malolactic fermentation. Filters meet FDA Title 21 regulations for beverage contact. Will work with our 10 inch cannister filter.
What makes this filter really unique is the PES layer membrane with defined .45 micron hole size. This layer will not allow material to pass that is over .45 in size. This PES layer is also what makes this cartridge considerably more expensive than spun poly filters. Some cartridage filters are listed as being absolute but unless they have a PES layer they aren't.
Wine to be filtered should already be very clear as this filter will load up quickly with material. It is a common practice to prefilter already settled wine with a 1 micron spun poly filter and then filter with this .45 micron absolute filter.
Please note: these filters are not intended to be reusable.
20cm x 20cm filter pads made for 20x20 plate filters. 9-10 micron pads are considered to be a "very rough" filtration and are typically used to prepare the wine to be filtered by finer pads, usually either 5-7 micron; or also to pre-filter white musts prior to fermentation. Please note that all pad filters are rated 'nominal', meaning that about 90-95% of all particulate matter at the micron rating will be filtered out. There will always be a little bit of smaller material that is also filtered out, as well as some larger material that will make it through.
The filters can be sterilized by in-line steam, auto-claving, dry heat, hot water or chemical methods. We choose to run Saniclean (CL27) solution through the pads followed by sterile water or a small amount of wine that is then discarded. After the solution is run through the pads, and the pads have softened, the filter will need to be re-tightened.
Each pad has an entry side and an exit side, distinguishable by their different textures. The entry side is a billowy type texture, frequently called the "rough" side; and the exit side has a crosshatch pattern and is commonly called the "smooth" side.
