This classic German hop has an herbal/floral character and smooth bitterness, making it an ideal choice for brewing lagers, especially traditional pilsners. Hallertau Mittelfruh is one of the original four Noble hops, and is categorized as a "landrace" hop, meaning that it grew and adapted naturally over time in its native region. The German Hallertau Blanc Single Hop Experiment | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain
Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals Includes a small bittering addition of Magnum and three 2 oz additions of your chosen hop for late boil and at dry hopping Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 35 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: 2-Row, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out! Estimated Original Gravity:1.049-54 SRM (Color Range): 7-8 IBU's: 35 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”. Magnum | Pellet Hops
Magnum is a great bittering hop with an aroma similar to a strong Willamette. It therefore works well with Willamette, Fuggles, and British Kent Goldings when used as an aroma hop in later boil additions. Magnum makes an incredibly useful bittering agent in just about any beer, and due to its very smooth bitterness, you can really use as much as you want. Oktoberfest | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract
Copper-colored Festbier with a strong emphasis on German malt flavor Includes Hallertau and Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 5.6% Estimated IBUs: 10-11 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer This Oktoberfest beer recipe makes, in our slightly biased opinion, one of the best Oktoberfest beers out there! With a strong emphasis on the German malt flavor, it's sure to please anyone looking for a classic Oktoberfest beer. It is a copper-colored Lager that achieves that malt flavor with lots of Pilsner malt extract. The use of Caravienne and Caramunich malts contribute the copper color and a unique, subdued toffee/malt flavor. First-addition hops are Hallertauer, while finishing-hops are Czech Saaz. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.056-60 SRM (Color Range): 10-11 IBUs: 21-25 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.6% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”. For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled. Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Riwaka™ Hops (Pellets)
The kiwis keep it coming with yet another hop varietal that's bursting with character. Riwaka™ varietal 85-6-23 was originally bred by New Zealand Hops by crossing Saaz with specially developed breeding selections. The result was a highly aromatic hop with almost double the oil content of its parent Saaz. Realesed in 1997, this was once an exceedingly difficult hop to get your hands on outside of New Zealand, as it was quickly bought up by the native brewers. With an almost 1:1 alpha to beta acids ratio, this rockstar aroma hop gives off strong notes of citrusy grapefruit and kumquat. Perfect for new world pale ales, IPAs, hoppy lagers, and any beer you want a bold fruity hop character to shine. Hop Statistics Alpha Acids: 4.5 – 6.5% Beta Acids: 4 – 5% Alpha-Beta Ratio: 0.9 - 1.3 Cohumulone: (% of alpha acids): 29 – 36% Total Oils in mls per 100 grams dried: 1.5 Riwaka™ is a trademark owned by New Zealand Hops Limited Company
