The BrewBuilt SlingBlade is an innovative electric heating element designed to promote a rolling boil and even heat distribution. Shaped for Performance and Convenience The SlingBlade's unique crescent-shaped design positions all of the heating power on one side of the kettle, sending thermal energy upward to the surface that then cascades downward on the opposite side of the kettle. This movement creates a dynamic turbulence that evenly distributes heat while creating a vigorous, rolling boil. Other heating elements stick right out into the middle of the kettle or use a full circle design that rings the kettle wall. This can cause an obstruction for immersion chillers or make it difficult to stir without banging into the element. The SlingBlade was designed to avoid these issues. By remaining on one side of the kettle, the element will be out of the way of your immersion chiller, and since the element follows the curvature of the kettle wall, it won't interfere with the flow of wort during whirlpool. Ultra-Low Watt Density An electric element transfers power to your wort by applying heat, but if this heat is too concentrated you will get local heating that is hotter than 212°F. This catalyzes Maillard Reactions, which can lead to darker beer than intended and produce unwanted caramelization. Think of these reactions like roasting a marshmallow. First it gets a light brown, we call this Maillard reactions, a little hotter and it gets a dark brown, we call this caramelization, then it turns black and we call this pyrolysis (burnt or scorched). While all kettles undergo these reactions, an electric element can concentrate more heat into a small area, which can quickly scorch your wort. Our experience is that at 90-watts per square inch recipes need to be modified to account for the element and light beers never come out quite right. The SlingBlade element was designed at 50-watts per square inch to reduce the chance of scorching while still providing a vigorous boil. For even lower watt density, consider the Boil Vigor Controller. Tri-Clamp Connection The SlingBlade installs quickly and easily on any kettle with a T.C. ferrule thanks to the curved, non-circular design. This also makes it a breeze to remove the element for cleaning between uses. The SlingBlade heating elements were designed to fit perfectly with BrewBuilt brewing kettles, but you may find them suitable for other kettles as well. They should be used with T.C. ferrules no longer than 1" in length. For dimensions and recommended minimum kettle diameter, please see the chart below. Don't fear the Beast, feed the Beast! This heavy duty counterflow wort chiller will gobble up heat from your wort as it passes from kettle to fermenter so you can pitch your yeast as soon as possible. Made from passivated 304 stainless steel, The Beast has a 30 ft. wort line with 1.5" T.C. connections and a 29.5 ft. coolant line with 1/2" male BSPT connections. Tri-clamp connections offer the most sanitary way to pass wort through your heat exchanger and pairs perfectly with BrewBuilt's line of T.C. Kettles and X1 Uni Conical Fermenters. The BSP coolant connections work well with Camlock, Duotight, NPT or other BSP fittings found below. Adding a ball valve to the coolant line inlet is a great way to dial in flow for maximum cooling efficiency!
When it comes to counterflow chillers, we love the coil design for its ease-of-use. Plate chillers are great for their high efficiency and compact size, but if there's too much hop matter running through them, they can quickly clog up. Transferring wort from your kettle to your fermenter is one of the critical steps in the brewing process where you don't want any hiccups. The Beast's wort line is 1/2" ID so it can withstand high amounts of hop additions without clogging!
A cross bar is welded on one side of the coil with pre-drilled mounting holes allowing it to be easily installed under your work bench or mounted directly to your brewing system.

BrewBuilt Bi-Metal Thermometers are top-of-the-line measuring instruments, made in the USA by Tel-Tru manufacturing. Maintain the overall precision of your brew system with these incredibly accurate and generally superior thermometers. These are produced according to strict standards, comparable to ISO9000 quality, and are set up with an 8 year manufacturers warranty boasting that quality.
Bi-metal thermometers are the level of quality you want when a few degree difference results in a completely different malt profile on your beer. While a bit more expensive, you won't ever mess up a batch because of incorrect temperature readings. The 2.5" Stem is a perfect balance of being long enough to get accurate readings, while not protruding far enough to get hit by a wandering mash paddle or spoon.
Are all bi-metal thermometers created equal? Not really. The problem with most bi-metal thermometers is that hang ups occur and you have to tap the thermometer to get an accurate reading. The cause of the problem is that the bimetallic helical coil in the stem of other bi-metal thermometers is tack welded to the stem itself. Our new line of thermometers feature a super sensitive bimetallic helical coil suspended from a copper coated bushing fixed in the stem.
This superior design provides a faster response to temperature changes and assures more accurate readings. What does this mean? You don't have to tap the gauge with your finger as much.
They are also accurate to 1% of the total range, feature a polished 3" 304 s/s housing, a hermetically sealed water proof case, glass face, external calibration capabilities, and a unique anti-parallax dial that provides for easy reading. The reading is actually taken from the last 2.5" of the probe.
Features:
Large 3" Dial Face for easy readings
2.5" Stem perfect for Boil Kettles and HLTs
High Grade Stainless Steel Construction and hermetically sealed casing
Can be calibrated with 1/16" Allen Wrench (Though should never be needed)
Dual Scale Range: 0-220° F, -10 to 100° C
Back Connection is 1/2" MPT, stem is 1/4" SS
8 year Manufacturer Warranty

The easiest way to power the BrewBuilt™ SlingBlade! This professionally wired watertight switch gives you a simple On/Off control of your heating element. Switches both legs of a 220V 30AMP circuit and comes with 5 ft. input and output cords with molded LP6-30P ends. It also features two handy tabs for mounting to a wall.
Don't wear out your expensive plugs and sockets hot patching your 220V burner elements. Plugging your element directly into a live power outlet will cause a small spark, and when done repeatedly this can damage the plug and the socket, especially with high voltage 220V appliances. Not only is the power switch more convenient to turn your element on and off during the brew day, it will eliminate the risk of damage done by hot patching.

No more guessing if you found the sweet spot on the dial Outlet fully disconnected when powered off for added safety, unlike some one-leg designs Linear power control for better repeatability at low power settings Wall mount bracket allows you to get the controller off the table and out of the way Dial your brew day up to 11 with the BrewBuilt™ Boil Vigor Controller! This controller allows you to control the current of a 208-240V heating element up to 30 amps. Perfect for dialing in your boil vigor for more consistent boil-off rates or adjusting the heat input to a still wash pot. The controller works by adjusting the percentage of power delivered to the heating element. The power is increased in a linear fashion from 0 to 100% as you adjust the dial from 1 to 11. Features industrial-style power switch, dial knob, and digital amm meter mounted on a splash resistant stainless steel enclosure. Pre-cut mounting holes allow you to hang the controller on your brew stand on the wall at eye-level. We highly recommend mounting the controller so you don't have to worry about keeping an area of your table dry where you might lay it down. L6-30 connections with 4 ft. cords on either end. Compatible with all 208-240V elements 30 amps and lower. While L6-30 are the most common elements available, yours may need an adapter. The Boil Vigor Controller uses a generously overrated SSR with a very large fan-cooled heatsink for better reliability. An SSR's life expectancy is directly related to its operating temperature, and this unit is built with the lowest Q heat dissipation system offered at the homebrewing level. It includes a contactor to fully shut off both legs when you throw the power switch, making the free end of the cord safer when the element is not plugged in. The display gives you a reading of the actual current being consumed by your element in Amps. On some systems, a small change in the adjustment makes a large current change at the element, especially at lower settings used during hop stands and distillation. The BrewBuilt controller provides a linear control and a digital readout to eliminate the guessing, allowing you to focus on your process and not your equipment. If you'd prefer not to mount the controller to your wall, consider the stainless steel Controller Stand. **Caution: In order to avoid injury or death we strongly recommend using a GFCI in any circuit used near water. Convert the BrewBuilt T.C. brewing kettle into a mash tun using one of these false bottom kits. The heavy duty false bottom rests low in the kettle, utilizing a tri-clamp style maximizer that reduces dead space and pulls from the very bottom of your kettle, leaving no wort behind. A Silicone gasket rims the False Bottom, ensuring a tight seal to the wall with no chance of grain bypass. A handle is welded to the top of the false bottom for easy removal. To monitor your mash temperature, we recommend the 1.5" T.C. Thermometer with 6" probe for better grain bed penetration. 1.5" tri-clamp and gasket included Welded T.C. maximizer False bottom gasket for tight seal Welded legs and handle Made from 304 stainless steel NOTE: These false bottom kits will fit all BrewBuilt T.C. kettles, including the electric kettle with SlingBlade heating element. We do not recommend converting the electric kettle into a mash tun as the element will scorch the grain. If you wish to use the false bottom in your boil kettle, it should be noted that the screen is designed to filter grain, so fine particle vegetal matter will pass through.
Recirculate wort in your boil kettle without sacrificing one of your tri-clamp ports. The BrewBuilt Whirlpool Return Fitting & Thermowell Offset kit allows you to use any tri-clamp kettle's thermometer port to recirculate wort while also taking temp readings. This kit is perfect for kettles that only have two tri-clamp ports—eliminating the need to drill out a hole in your kettle to add a third port for wort recirculation. Attach your preferred valve or tri-clamp fitting to the side inlet and, during whirlpool, draw wort from your bottom port and pump it back through the Whirlpool Return Fitting.
Kit Includes:
Whirlpool Return Fitting
Thermowell Offset
(1) 1.5" Tri-Clamp
(1) 1.5" Tri-Clamp Gasket (EPDM)
Made specifically for whirlpooling, this fitting angles ricrculating wort along the kettle wall for a more efficient whirlpool effect
Doubles as a kettle maximizer, allowing you to pull wort from below the depth of your kettle's bottom port
Rotate to your preferred pick-up height in the kettle to leave trub behind when transferring to fermenter
Compatible with kettles 12" in diameter and larger
This unique tri-clamp fitting works perfectly for whirlpooling hops at the end of the boil and doubles as kettle maximizer when transferring out to your fermenter. When recirculating wort through the bottom port, wort will be returned to flow along the kettle wall for a more efficient whirlpool effect, drawing vegetal matter into the center of your kettle. When transferring wort out, the fitting will then pull from the side of the kettle where matter has been cleared, and by angling the end of the tube downwards, you'll be able to pull liquid from below the depth of your kettle's bottom port without the need to tip your vessel.
