LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. German Hefeweizen | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    47 reviews

This German-style Wheat Beer recipe allows Hefeweizen yeast to shine at the forefront of the flavor profile. One of most popular kits ever! Includes a single addition of Northern Brewer hops Estimated ABV: 4.5% Estimated IBUs: 13 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer This German-style Wheat Beer has a lovely blond color and distinct hazy appearance in the glass. The flavor for German Hefeweizen is primarily based on the flavor of the very specialized Hefeweizen yeast, so be sure to select one of these strains for fermentation. Just be ready for a vigorous fermentation! This beer is known to pop off airlocks if there isn't enough room in the fermenter. This kit does not contain any steeping grain, using 100% Bavarian Wheat malt extract. A dash of Northern Brewer hops provides just enough bitterness to balance the malt and yeast character. Despite the simple recipe, this is one of our most popular ingredient kits. Our German Hefeweizen is a customer favorite that has brought home many ribbons. If you want to put a little spin on this recipe, add 8 oz of Caramunich and 4 oz of Chocolate malt to make a Dunkelweizen! Irish Red Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

One of our best-selling kits of all time, Irish Red Ale is decidedly malt-forward with a distinct caramel flavor Includes Northern Brewer and Willamette hops Estimated ABV: 4.8% Estimated IBUs: 39-46 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Our Irish Red Ale recipe is hard to nail down as any specific style—similar to a big Amber Ale, but it's so unusual it does not really fit within any category. Malt character utterly dominates this beer's flavor profile, containing dark Crystal malts, including Special B, and a pinch of Roasted Barley for a deep, red color and a very distinctive caramel flavor. Irish Red Ale has been one of our most popular ingredient kits for many years, and continues to receive a lot of positive feedback from satisfied customers to this day. Haze Craze IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    35 reviews

Bursting with hop character with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Our best-selling Hazy IPA year after year Includes Warrior®, Citra®, and Mosaic® hops Estimated ABV: 6.4% Estimated IBUs: 28 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Haze Craze is our take on the hazy New England IPA recipe. Also known as a North Eastern IPA, or Juicy IPA, it quickly became one of the most popular beer styles in the US. It packs all of the hop character that craft beer nerds love, and it's much softer and less bitter than classic West Coast IPAs, making it a much more approachable style for the uninitiated. The style accentuates hop character while maintaining a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Light in color but hazy due to heavy dry hopping, yeast selection, as well as additions of oat and wheat. Low in bitterness with a huge hop character due to hop-bursting, this beer will satiate even the biggest hop head. NEIPA has become popular nationwide thanks to breweries like Tree House Brewing, The Alchemist, Hill Farmstead and Grimm Artisanal Ales. One taste of this delicious style will make a staple in your brew schedule.  Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.062-66 SRM (Color Range): 4.5 IBUs: 28 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.4%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Russian River Brewing Company Blind Pig® IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    33 reviews

This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Russian River Brewing Company This is the original homebrew recipe that was the basis for Russian River Brewing Company's famous Blind Pig IPA Won Silver Medals at the World Cup of Beer and the Great American Beer Festival in 1996 Includes Magnum, Cascade, and Willamette hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 60 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer The original Double IPA! Vinnie Cilurzo began homebrewing in 1989 while in college. In 1994 Vinnie started the Blind Pig Brewing Company in Temecula, CA, a small, low-budget micro-brewery known for their extremely hoppy IPA—an IPA which won silver medals at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Vinnie sold his share in Blind Pig and was hired to manage and brew at the Russian River Brewing Company, a start-up brewery by Korbel Champagne in Guerneville, CA. In late 2002 Korbel decided to get out of the beer business and sold the Russian River name and brand to Vinnie who moved the brewery to Santa Rosa, CA, 90 miles North of San Francisco, where he and his wife Natalie opened a brew-pub which serves delicious bites and, of course, all of the Russian River Ales. Vinnie has won 10 awards at the Great American Beer Festival in just six years and was named Small Brewing Company Brewmaster of the Year in 1999. Russian River's smashing success continues to this day, expanding and opening a second brewery in Windsor, CA. Almost every beer that Vinnie makes commercially started out as a homebrew recipe at one point or another. Even as a professional brewer, Vinnie still homebrews at least 5 or 6 times a year. This is the original homebrew recipe that was the basis for Blind Pig IPA which won Silver Medals at the World Cup of Beer and the Great American Beer Festival in 1996, the last year Vinnie brewed it. Two dry hop additions along with 1 oz of American Oak are added directly to the fermenter after the first week of fermentation. To say it is a very unique, extremely flavorful IPA is an understatement. Vinnie recommends using White Labs California yeast, WLP001. Packed with almost a pound of hops, our Heady Topper® clone is bursting with hop flavor and aroma Includes Apollo, Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe®, and  Amarillo® hops as boil and dry hop additions Estimated ABV: 8.1% Estimated IBUs: 100+ Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Based off of one of the most exceptional east coast beers (in our humble opinion) on the market, this double IPA instantly became one of our favorite ingredient kits!  Our version of a Heady Topper clone recipe is packed with almost a pound of hops, and is definitely a beer that will have hopheads in hopheaven.   One of the first things we noticed when pouring this beer into the pint glass was the aroma.  With a dry hop addition consisting of Apollo, Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe®, and  Amarillo® hops, we weren't necessarily surprised.  Impressed is more like it.  A balanced malt profile helps to tame the bitterness, allowing the hop flavor and aroma to be the true star in this recipe. If you're a fan of IPAs, double IPAs, or anything having to do with hops, this Heady Topper clone is one beer you need to brew! Makes 5 gallons Estimated OG: 1.073-1.078 SRM (Color Range): 9 IBUs: 110 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 8.1%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.   Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.   Simcoe® is a registered trademark owned by Yakima Chief Hops, LLC. Amarillo® is a trademark owned by Virgil Gamache Farms, Inc.

A delicious, juicy, New England Double IPA. Juicy and citrusy with a little dank Includes Columbus, Cascade, Amarillo®, Mosaic®, Simcoe®, and Citra® hops Estimated ABV: 9.1% Estimated IBUs: 32 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer MoreHaze! is a delicious, juicy, NE style double IPA.  This beer was brewed as a collaboration between EJ Phair Brewing Co. and MoreBeer!  We liked the beer so much that we wanted people to be able to brew it at home.   The beer is very high in alcohol (9.1% ABV), low in bitterness, light in color and loaded with hops.  We dry hopped this beer in multiple stages, added lots of high protein grains and did not use any clarifying agents, which leads to a hazy beer loaded with flavor.  Flavor and aroma is very citrusy (orange, tangerine, grapefruit) and mildly danky.  The large addition of wheat and oats adds a soft, pillowy texture to the beer.  The feed back was that this beer is delicious and dangerously easy to drink at such a high ABV. At just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lover's dream. A truly sessionable IPA overflowing with hop character Includes Warrior®, Centennial, and Simcoe® hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 58-62 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you're looking for a new session IPA to obsess over, look no further!  We recently changed this recipe slightly, making all finishing hops Centennial (rather than a blend between Centennial and HBC-342).  We made sure to keep the Simcoe® dry hop though, as we felt this really brought a "pop" to the aroma!   While the general rule of thumb has been "one or two IPAs and you're feeling it", at just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lovers dream.  The type of IPA that you can open up at noon, get the grill going, and forget worrying about how you're going to feel after drinking 8% IPAs for a few hours!  (Yes, we know that feeling too...) A half pound of corn sugar helps this one finish out nice and dry, while a small amount of acidulated malt will help make those hops pop. The clean bitterness of Warrior® balances perfectly with a slightly sweet malt profile, all topped off with a white, frothy head thanks to the wheat malt. So what are you waiting for?!  Order your kit today and let the obsession begin! Light, clean, a little bitter, and fairly neutral Includes Saaz and Cascade hops Estimated ABV: 3.6% Estimated IBUs: 6-10 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A lite beer similiar to the major American brands. Not much flavor, not much bitterness, not much of anything to tell you the truth. However, sometimes that is exactly what we are looking for. A good beer for general mass-consumption. Uses dry rice extract as part of the base. This kit does not contain any grain, only Liquid Malt Extract and Dried Rice extract. No grain bag is needed. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.035 SRM (Color Range): 4-6 IBUs: 6-10 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 3.6%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Over the years, Jim found a clone that was close but needed some small changes. After many trials and test batches, he came up with this recipe that is very drinkable when it is fresh. It will get smoother with a couple months of aging and creaminess added by the lactose makes this a very good winter warming stout. Jim hopes you enjoy this beer as much as he has. An extremely tropical Hazy Double IPA with notes of passion fruit, mango, citrus, and pineapple Includes Citra®, El Dorado, and Mosaic® hops Estimated ABV: 8.3% Estimated IBUs: 20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer We Like Space will convert your carbon-based taste buds into pure energy and beam your consciousness to unknown worlds! The flavor of this high-gravity, fluffy-soft brew is like drinking the nectar from an interstellar pineapple while sitting on a beach of turquoise sand, watching sanguine waves crash and recede against the backdrop of a binary sunset. Travelers beware this quasar quenching Hazy Double IPA. Journey too close and it will trap your senses in orbit, slowly pulling you beyond the event horizon to a point where your desire for beer becomes a singularity. With a 12 oz payload of Citra®, El Dorado, and Mosaic®, We Like Space is one of our most highly-hopped recipe kits. Extremely tropical, with notes of passion fruit, mango, citrus, and pineapple. A heavy helping of Flaked Oats provides a full body and creamy texture, fine-tuned by a late boil addition of maltodextrin. The out-of-this-world graphic is as much of an inside joke as the name itself. After a long brainstorm of potential beer names, the resulting list had an overwhelming theme of sci-fi and astronomical references. When a coworker remarked that the names didn't make sense, noticing that there were no additions of Galaxy or Comet, our intrepid kit developers looked at one another, shrugged, looked back at their coworker and said flatly "We like space." American Pale Ale II | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    26 reviews

Our OG American Pale Ale recipe with the malt and hop character kicked up a notch Includes Magnum, Cascade and Willamette hops Estimated ABV: 5.3% Estimated IBUs: 57 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Looking for the perfect American Pale Ale to share with friends this summer? Do you like a Pale Ale with a rich malt flavor and a ton of hop character but without an overwhelming bitterness? Then the Pale Ale II should be your next brew. We took our American Pale Ale recipe and upped the malt, threw a ton of hops in the finish for flavor, but kept the bitterness the same. We think toning down the perceived bitterness is one reason we consistently get great reviews from brewers sharing this with friends. Keeping it real: Part of the success of this kit is blending a lot of Willamette and Cascade hops in the finish. This isn't a wild, new or crazy idea... this is old school. Cascade and Willamette were the hops that helped put craft brewing on the map in the 1980's. The reason they are still so popular... they make a damn good beer. Truly delectable and different yet still keeping it real. 34 reviews

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Big, dark, hoppy, and delicious. Designed by our local homebrew club in Concord, CA—the Diablo Order Of Zymiracle Enthusiasts Includes Magnum, Cascade, Centennial, and Simcoe® hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 70-75 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer MoreBeer! is proud to release this Black IPA recipe designed by our local homebrew Club D.O.Z.E. After winning the AHA Homebrew Club Of The Year in 2010, the Diablo Order Of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) put their minds together to collectively craft a beer they felt representative of the club and its brewers. The initiative was taken on as an all club project that spanned 5 months. In the end, over 50 members contributed ideas to this recipe and nearly 40 individual batches brewed by 23 DOZE members were tasted and refined to a single recipe. This beer is inspired by the style many refer to as Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA, however it is not intended to fit the mold of any particular guideline. Mostly it is big, dark, hoppy, and delicious. The recipe was coined 'Diablo Dark Ale' in honor of our near by Mt. Diablo. Members of the Diablo Order of Zymurical Enthusiasts live in various cities located at the base of this great mountain. Also the location where many of us from MoreBeer! go mountain biking when we get the chance. An extremely malty beer that really emphasizes malt over hops Includes a single addition of Northern Brewer hops Estimated ABV: 8% Estimated IBUs: 19-23 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer An extremely malty beer that really emphasizes malt over hops. Most styles are more balanced, which means the bitterness of the hops is proportional to the sweetness of the malt. Not true with our Scotch ale where the deep malt flavor is king. Scotch Ale yeast strains typically ferment well in the low-to-mid 60's and leave behind very few esters or fruity flavors, which further emphasizes the malt. Special B and Caramunich malts add a slight, pleasant caramel flavor to this traditional Dubbel recipe Includes Perle and Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 5.9% Estimated IBUs: 27 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Our signature Belgian Dubbel beer kit is to die for! We use the traditional grains: Belgian Special B and Caramunich malts which give it a slight caramel flavor that the Trippel does not have. Pour a glass, close your eyes and imagine yourself as a monk with a job to do. Now get to work and sample that Belgian Dubbel beer! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.059-62 SRM (Color Range): 8-9 IBUs: 27 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5.9%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Packed with hops in the kettle and finished with fresh oranges in the fermenter, this IPA is primed to explode in your mouth Includes Columbus, Simcoe®, and Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 75-80 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Remember your parents scaring you with "Be careful of firecrackers, they can explode in your hand!"  Well let us warn you right now... our new, juicy M-80 IPA is going to explode in your mouth. It's going to be crazy. Flavors going everywhere. Maybe your parents would tell you to use caution and not to make this beer. But your grown up now, making adult decisions (most of the time), and we think you've earned the right to buy a beer kit with a fuse and a lighter. With a slight smile and a wink of the eye, we say "go ahead... have some fun". Let us tell you about the inner workings of this bomb. Sure it has big IPA malt, but you want to know about the hops. It starts with an unreasonable amount of Simcoe®, Columbus, and Centennial hops. By themselves these are all explosive hops, but together they combine to bring true, huge IPA hop flavor.  Because of the similarity of hops, one MoreBeer! staffer dubbed it a mini "Pliny The Elder... but with orange". High praise indeed. Did you just say Orange? Well done sir, good paying attention. What really sets this IPA apart from the masses is that the recipe calls for you to cut up and add three fresh oranges into the fermenter. Crazy? We thought so. But that is what we love about our Signature Series of Beer Kits, a selection of crazy, unique beers that really stand out. M-80 IPA was designed and created by your fellow homebrewer, Carlos Musquez. We do admit he went a little AWOL on this kit and into uncharted territory, but we love a rebel. You will need to supply the three fresh oranges... we'd ship them to you, but they would get a little squishy. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.059-64 SRM (Color Range): 7 IBUs: 75-80 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.5%     Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. • Kit (Extract) - Holiday Hops IPA - Celebration Clone - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Holiday Hops IPA - Celebration Clone - PLACEHOLDER

Holiday Hops IPA | Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA® Clone | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

A classic West Coast IPA modeled after Sierra Nevada's Celebration. Balanced malt character, deep reddish color and plenty of hop bitterness Includes Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 6.6% Estimated IBUs: 64 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer There are certain beers that you can't help but associate with a specific time of year, and there might be no better example than Sierra Nevada's Celebration IPA. As the year begins to wind down and we enter the holiday season, our eyes instinctively start scanning the shelves for those striking red labels. Once you've enjoyed that first pint of Sierra's signature seasonal release, it's hard to resist leaning into the holiday spirit. Sierra brews this recipe every year with their most recent haul of fresh, hand-selected hops, making each release slightly unique to past iterations. Even though our clone kit doesn't contain fresh hops, we strived to make a recipe that celebrates the character of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops with heaps of citrus, piney, and floral notes. Our Holiday Hops kit is a classic West Coast IPA with a distinct, but balanced malt character, deep reddish color and plenty of hop bitterness to match the bite of winter weather. Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops are employed up and down the brew schedule, from the top of the 90-minute boil to the final dry hop addition days before packaging. We highly recommend using a Chico yeast strain for fermentation—it's a Sierra Nevada ale recipe after all! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.061-66 SRM (Color Range): 12 IBUs: 64 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.6% Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style.
