Extend your beer's shelf life by effectively preventing the formation of unsightly colloidal haze
Specifically targets and removes haze-active polyphenols, ensuring only the necessary components are filtered out
As an insoluble processing aid, Alphaclar S is easily removed through filtration and doesn't require labeling on your final product
Alphaclar S is a single-use cross linked polyvinylpyrroidone (PVPP). It is a colloidal haze stabilizer which can increase the shelf life of beer. Alphaclar S absorbs the haze-active polyphenols which would otherwise react with haze-active proteins in filtered beer to form colloidal haze during storage.
Principle:
Beer contains polyphenols which are derived from hops and malt. The smallest (haze active) polyphenol molecules and the smallest (haze-active) protein molecules will pass through the filter. At first the beer may be bright but gradually the polyphenols with polymerize due to oxidation. Once they reach a certain size they can react with the haze-active proteins to form colloidal haze which is measurable and visible. Eventually the colloids can become large enough for them to sediment. Alphaclar S absorbs the polyphenols via hydrogen bonding. As PVPP is insoluble, beer filtration will remove the haze-active polyphenols which have been absorbed onto the PVPP. This takes away one side of the equation in colloidal haze formation, thereby improving the stability of beer.
Benefits:
Increases beer shelf-life due to preventing colloidal haze formation
Only the specific haze-active polyphenols are removed
PVPP is insoluble so it’s removed by filtration and therefore is a processing aid, which is no required to be listed on labels
Another hit from the Southern Hemisphere! Rakau™ is a dream dual purpose hop, with plenty of alpha acids for bittering and an explosion of tropical fruit character as a late addition. The soft bitterness makes it ideal for beers where you're looking for a lot of hoppy character but without the bitter bite that comes with some highly hopped brews. With a high oil content, partcfularly myrcene, you'll find notes of passionfruit, peach, apricot, plum, mango, pear, and other stone fruit. Use throughout the boil, whirlpool, and dry hop for Pale Ales, IPAs, hoppy lagers, or even Belgian ales and American wheat beers.

9.5-11.5% AA - Grows well in all climates. Susceptible to Downy Mildew.
The aroma/flavor is definitely American in nature with pungent aromas and pronounced flavor. Similar to, and blends well with Cascade, but without the grapefruit flavors of Cascade. Great higher alpha bittering hop.
Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.
Shipping Restrictions:
Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

4.5-7% AA - Grows well in all climates. Aroma and bittering for pale ales.
Pleasant, floral and quite citrusy. Very distinctive and the most popular microbrew and homebrew hop for American ales. Cascade is the great aroma hop for all American-style ales, known for its grapefruit, citrusy flavors and aromas.

11.0-16.0% AA. Grows well in all climates. Good yields, and high tolerance to disease.
Magnum is a great bittering hop with an aroma similar to a strong Willamette. It therefore works well with Willamette, Fuggles, and British Kent Goldings. Because its bitterness is so smooth you will find that you can use more of it than many recipes specify. For example, we use two full ounces for a 60 minute boil in IPAs.

The Hop Bong is a versatile pressurizable tri-clamp accessory, capable of not only dry hopping oxygen purged hops into fermenters, but also as an inline carbonation/oxygenation accessory. Load up the Hop Bong, flush it with CO2, purge out oxygen with the handy PRV on top, then simply open the Butterfly Valve to inject your beer with a 6 oz payload of dry hops.
If you're an existing FermZilla Conical or All Rounder user and you already own the Pressure Kit with 2x Ball Lock Caps and floating dip tube, check out the Hop Bong Upgrade Kit.
The 3 Pieces of the Hop Bong Pressure Pack:
Pressure Kit
The Pressure Kit includes two Ball Lock Caps with the Floating Dip Tube and Filter Attachment. These pieces allow you to pressure transfer finished beer out of the fermenter into kegs or a bottling bucket, or you can carbonate and serve beer directly from the FermZilla.
Tri-Clamp Pressure Lid
Replacing the standard lid with the FermZilla Tri-Clamp Pressure Lid provides you with a 2" T.C. port at the top of your fermenter. This will give you an opening to add dry hops or other additions without needing to remove the entire lid. Take off the butterfly valve to add your yeast pitch, and when you're ready to add flavoring additions when fermentation is complete, drop them in oxygen-free via the Hop Bong. PCO1881 threaded ports are there for your Ball Lock Caps, as well as undrilled ports for an optional Thermowell and/or Temp Twister cooling coil.
Hop Bong
Load up the Hop Bong and add CO2 to purge your hop charge of oxygen. This kit comes with a third Ball Lock Cap to introduce CO2 directly to the Hop Bong, as well as a pull ring PRV to release pressure and purge oxygen. Once you've flushed your hop charge with CO2, open the butterfly valve to inject your beer with up to 6 oz of hop pellets.
Hop Pellet Capacity: 150–180g (5.2–6.3 oz)
Kit Includes:
FermZilla 2" T.C. Pressure Lid Starter Kit
2" Hop Bong
2" FermZilla Tri-Conical Butterfly Valve
Floating Dip Tube
Weighted Mesh Filter Attachment (KEG6571)
Red PRV & PCO1881 Cap Combo
Yellow Ball Lock Cap
(2) Red Ball Lock Caps
(2) 2" Tri-Clamps
(2) 2" Silicone T.C. Gaskets
KegLand Part Number: KB10897
Installation Note: For best performance, ensure there is not an excess amount of slack when the silicone dip tube is installed and shorten it if needed. With the floating dip tube installed on your empty FermZilla, you ideally want the dip tube to hang freely with just enough length for the end of the dup tube to touch the bottom of the tank.
Warning: Always depressurize your system COMPLETELY before removing fittings from your fermenter.

Originally released in 2013, Cashmere was developed by Washington State University as a cross between Cascade and Northern Brewer. With a higher alpha acid content than Cascade, this dual-purpose hop has a smooth bitterness, but really shines as a late addition hop when used at knock out, whirlpool, or dry hopping. Expect an herbal, slightly spicy aroma with notes of lemon, lime, melon and stone fruit.

How to Brew with HyperBoost?
HyperBoost® is designed to easily pour in your fermenter as a dry hop addition, adding an intense saturation of hop flavor to your finished beer. Most brewers choose to use HyperBoost during active fermentation, but it can also be added to the whirlpool. Using HyperBoost in place of traditional pellets can increase finished beer yield.
Kettle: HyperBoost is not intended for kettle additions. For early kettle and bittering additions, we recommend pellets or CO2 extract. DynaBoost® carries variety-specific oil and alpha acid content to the kettle and can be used as a late kettle addition.
Post-Boil / Whirlpool: For whirlpool use, brewers can replace up to 100% of pellets with HyperBoost. We suggest replacing T-90 pellet additions in the whirlpool at a rate of 50:1 by weight (20 g of HyperBoost to replace 1 kg T-90). Your brewery might choose to use more or less depending on beer style or overall goal.
Fermentation: HyperBoost can be used as an active or post-fermentation hop addition. Incorporate HyperBoost anywhere in the process you would typically use pellets.
Dry Hopping: For dry hop additions, YCH recommends using HyperBoost for 25-50% of the addition and adding T-90 or Cryo® pellets for the remainder of the hop charge. As a dry hop, we suggest starting with a replacement rate of 100:1 HyperBoost to T-90 pellets by weight (10 g HyperBoost in place of 1 kg T-90) to 125:1 (8 g HyperBoost in place of 1 kg T-90).

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals
Includes a small bittering addition of Magnum and three 2 oz additions of your chosen hop for late boil and at dry hopping
Estimated ABV: 5%
Estimated IBUs: 35
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: 2-Row, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ambient Flowability: Effortlessly flows at room temperature for easy, hassle-free additions without pre-heating.
Increased Wort Yield: Boosts yield by up to 5% by significantly reducing trub and solid matter in the whirlpool.
Amplified Aromatics: Highly soluble extract designed to deliver concentrated, variety-specific hop character.
Logistical Efficiency: Streamlines operations by reducing shipping costs and requiring less cold storage space.
Formerly YCH 702, DynaBoost is an oil-enriched extract that flows effortlessly at ambient temperatures.
DynaBoost was crafted as a hassle-free whirlpool addition that amplifies aromatics through a concentration of wort-soluble compounds. Thanks to that solubility, you get less solid matter impacting your waste stream and more wort heading to your fermenter, with some brewers reporting up to a 5% increase in wort yield.
Chief Advantages:
Easy to use
Flowable at room temperature
Increase hot side yield
Reduction of solid matter in the whirlpool and waste stream
Shipping and storage space reduction
How to Brew with DynaBoost?
DynaBoost serves as a versatile companion in the brewhouse, adding a rich and dynamic hop character to your beer. This exceptionally flowable oil extract delivers varietal hop characteristics to your brew through a high concentration of beer-soluble compounds. Thanks to its solubility, brewers may see an increase in wort yield due to a reduction in trub.
Kettle: DynaBoost carries variety-specific alpha acid content and can be used both as an early bittering addition, or a late aroma addition in the kettle.
Post-Boil / Whirlpool: DynaBoost was specifically designed to boost aromatics as a whirlpool addition. The wort soluble oil extract will deliver variety-specific aroma attributes and minimize trub, potentially increasing your whirlpool yield.
Fermentation: DynaBoost requires contact time with hot liquid to incorporate into wort or fermenting beer. For that reason, brewers who choose to use DynaBoost in the fermenter often use a "dip hop" method, where a small portion of the wort is transferred to the fermenter hot (170-200°F) along with DynaBoost. The hot wort and DynaBoost mixture is then allowed to stand for a short period before the main knockout at fermentation temperature, after which yeast can be pitched.
Dry Hopping: DynaBoost was not intended to be used as a dry-hop addition. Instead, it is recommended to replace 25-50% of dry hop additions with HyperBoost™, leaving up to 50% of the additions as T-90 or Cryo Hops® pellets.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Our Cali Mountain Pale Ale is inspired by one of the most iconic pale ales in the country: Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. This pale ale is a fairly simple recipe, consisting of 2-Row malt, Crystal 60L, and four hop additions. This being said, don't be fooled. The flavors blend together perfectly, creating a complex yet easy to drink homebrew. The bittering hop additions are Magnum and Perle which provide a clean bitterness that balances the sweetness from the Crystal 60L malt perfectly. The aroma hop and dry hop additions are both Cascade, providing a citrus & floral aroma as fresh as the forests in California's mountains!

I Heart IPA:
An amazing IPA derived from one of our favorites, Bell's Two Hearted, the I Heart IPA is a true Centennial hop bomb! Using Centennial as the bittering, aroma, and dry hop additions gives you a true understanding of how incredible and universal this hop can be.
Light in color and body, the malt character hides a little, allowing the burst of Centennial flavor and aroma shine. Our Bell's Two Hearted clone recipe has a slightly lower original gravity than the original. Coming in at right around 6% ABV, this isn't one of those IPAs that will make you shy away from a second!
