Cascade hops are the classic American hop that really started the hop craze. Defined by its citrus, and often more specifically grapefruit flavor, it is now sought out around the world. Cascade hops are a true dual purpose hop that can be used for bittering, late aroma additions, or dry hopping in the fermenter. Used in so many craft brewed pale ales, but none more famous than Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. You cannot go wrong using Cascade hops in all kinds of American style ales.

Cryo Hop® Hop Pellets
Higher AA and nearly twice the resin content of traditional T-90 hop pellets
Increase yield by reducing vegetal matter in your brewhouse and fermenter
Cryo Hops® provide brewers with the ability to get gigantic hop character while reducing astringent and unpleasant vegetal flavors. With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer!
Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor. It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil.
Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material.
Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier.

Centennial hops are a balanced bittering and aromatic hop with a decidedly American nature and uniquely pungent flavor. An intense citrus aroma with pronounced lemon notes also gives off some floral qualities that blend well with West Coast IPAs, American Pale Ales, and other hop-forward styles. Centennial hops are sometimes referenced as a super charged Cascade without the grapefruit flavors. Centennial hops also blend well with Chinook and Columbus hops.

Originally released in 2013, Cashmere was developed by Washington State University as a cross between Cascade and Northern Brewer. With a higher alpha acid content than Cascade, this dual-purpose hop has a smooth bitterness, but really shines as a late addition hop when used at knock out, whirlpool, or dry hopping. Expect an herbal, slightly spicy aroma with notes of lemon, lime, melon and stone fruit.

Amarillo® hops enjoy a special place of adoration in the hearts of brewers. Often described as a supercharged version of Cascade. Bursting with floral, tropical, and citrus (lemon, orange and grapefruit) characteristics, but it has a distinctive Orange character to it that is very different from Cascade. An excellent choice of super hoppy beer styles like Hazy IPA or West Coast IPA, Pale Ales, or Hoppy Lagers. But really, it's an excellent addition to any beer where you want citrus flavors to pop.

One of the quintessential English hops, Fuggle is prized for its earthy, floral, and understated fruit characteristics. Primarily used as an aroma hop, it will give your beer a "British" flavor that is distinct from the popular Northwestern varieties like Cascade, Centennial, Columbus or Chinook. Lotus™ is the latest experimental hop variety developed under the Hopsteiner breeding program to now be available to homebrewers. This tenacious hop outperformed thousands of brothers and sisters born of the initial cross breeding and survived a decade long journey to become the hottest addition to Hopsteiner's unique portfolio of exciting new hop varieties. Lotus™ displays exceptional aromatic characteristics, boasting waves of orange and vanilla followed by notes of candied grape and tropical fruit aromas.
Lotus’s genetic origin stems from Eastern Gold, a Japanese hop variety dating back to the 1930s, followed by a mix of Apollo, Cascade, and a USDA male. The USDA male was bred from an open pollinated seedling of a wild American hop developed at Wye College, England. The cross from the USDA male with Neomexicanus heritage adds an additional layer of complexity and uniqueness to this variety.

Mandarina is extremely limited and in high demand for all kind of beer styles. It is being used in IPA, Saisons, you name it. It is known for having a fruity, citrusy, Mandarin Orange flavor, hence the name. It is a daughter hop of Cascade grown in Germany and is also said to slightly enhance sweetness.
We are thinking IPA but since this hop is so new we would love to see your reviews.

NY Cascade 023™ is a powerhouse of flavors for thiolized beers thanks to the special terroir of New York State With a higher bound thiol precursor count than typical Cascade, 023™ has huge flavor and aroma potential when used in tandem with a thiolized yeast strain Highly recommended for Mash Hopping. Maximize flavor and aromas while minimizing bitterness When used with thiolized yeast, flavors are noted to be tropical, red berry, and melon When not used with thiolized yeast, flavors are noted to be citrus, tropical, and floral What is NY Cascade 023™? Through research and development, the New York Hop Guild has discovered that our New York grown Cascade has a higher amount of bound precursor thiols than other hop thiol products on the market. Initially we thought this may have been a one-time occurrence, but through extensive testing we have discovered that the abundance of bound thiols is unique to the terroir of New York State! With up to three times more 3MH Precursors (Passionfruit/Grapefruit/Guava) than PNW Cascade, our 023™ branded Cascade is a powerhouse of flavors for thiolized beers. We highly recommend utilizing these TRUE90™ pellets in the mash with a thiolized yeast like Cosmic Punch® or Star Party™ from Omega Yeast. What are Bound Thiols? Bound thiols are a precursor compound that consists of a thiol (a class of aromatic compound) bound to glutathione, cysteine, and dipeptide intermediates. The bound thiol content normally consists of a higher concentration of bound 3SH/3MH (Passionfruit/Grapefruit/Guava), than found in the free thiol content of many varieties of hops. How Do You Unlock Bound Thiols? Unlocking bound thiols requires a two-step process: Mash Hopping!!! Everyone’s favorite blast from the past is back in style! Mash hopping employs an enzymatic process that breaks down glutathione bound thiols into cysteine bound thiols. Utilizing a Thiolized Yeast! By Breaking down these precursors into cysteine bound thiols, this enables yeasts with IRC7 and PatB Enzymes to break down the bonds with cysteine, setting the thiols free and unlocking Cascade 023™’s immense amount of flavor! What’re the Benefits? By unleashing the power of bound thiols, our Cascade 023™ can give you a similar punch of flavor to that of propriety varieties with elevated free thiol content. With the Mash Hopping technique you can dramatically increase your yield by minimizing hop additions in the Kettle and Whirlpool. Cascade 023™’s enhanced bound thiol content allows you to maximize flavor and aromas while minimizing bitterness in your product. Recommended Usage Rates? We recommend as little as 0.50 lbs/bbl up to 2.5 lbs/bbl in the mash, though most brewers agree that 0.75-1.0 lbs/bbl is an excellent sweet spot! For homebrewers, that's roughly 0.25 oz/gallon up to 1.25 oz/gallon, with 0.4-0.5 oz/gallon being the sweet spot. When calculating bitterness during the mash hopping, a good general guideline is about 30% of calculated IBUs from an equivalent by weight 60-minute kettle addition. Ripe honeydew, papaya and tropical melange, white peach and fleshy pear. Vista hops are the most recent release from the USDA public breeding program. The public hop breeding program is unique in that it exists to broadly benefit the entire hop and brewing industries, whereas private programs look more at explicit private financial gain. The USDA public breeding program bred the genetic hop base on which American craft beer was built: Cascade, Centennial, Cluster. And continues to innovate to adapt towards new DDH hazy, juicy IPA brewer and consumer preferences with releases like Cashmere, Triumph, and now Vista.
Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.
Shipping Restrictions:
Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.
The Artisan Hops® Hop Shot is an easy way to boost IBUs without adding vegetal matter to your beer. This CO2 hop extract is a blend of Cascade and Willamette hops, which will impart a slight citrus, fruity character to your beer. 1 mL boiled in 5 gallons of 1.050 wort for 60 minutes will add approximately 7 IBUs.
Add to boiling wort only. We recommend softening the extract before use. Place the syringe in a warm glass of water at the beginning of your brew day, or create a slurry by adding the extract directly to a small amount of pre-boiled water.

Cascade Quantum Brite
Before the dominance of Citra®, there was Cascade. Delivering bright, zesty notes of citrus and a strong bitterness, Cascade was the flavor of choice for the most successful American Pale Ales.
Optimized Hop Extracts
Compared to other hop-extracts, the Quantum Series tastes better, performs better, and is easier to use. It works with everything from Pils to Porters with no special handling required. Easily flowable at cool, ambient, and warm temperatures. Gone are the days of warming up your extract or scrubbing the sticky gunk out of your equipment.
Compared to hops and pellets, the Quantum Series offers a 100% utilization rate and can be used at any stage of the brewing process. It cuts down on shipping and storage costs by an order of magnitude, not to mention the labor savings from not having to lug boxes around.
Quantum Tastes Better
The Quantum Series is an evolutionary leap forward in aroma and brewing technology. When you get down to it, nobody wants to use an extract product that makes their beer taste worse off. Extracts have taken a bad rap because they can often add more problems than they solve and, frankly, they don’t always taste the greatest. Abstrax gets it. That’s why, above all else, flavor and aroma come first with Quantum.
Dosage
Consider 1mL of Quantum Brite the flavor/aroma equivalent of 1 oz of T-90 pellet hops. Add after fermentation is complete, ideally at the coldest and latest point in your process, in your fermenter, keg, or bottling bucket. Or even add a drop or two to spike your finished beer in the glass.
Features:
100% efficient flavor/aroma transfer
Consistent from batch to batch
No yield loss from absorption
Quantum will not affect IBU test results and cannot cause lightstruck off-flavors
Zero Undesirable Plant Compounds
No Lipids
No Chlorophyll

Cascade
Looking for the recognizable lemon-forward citrus, spice, and earthy pine of Cascade’s 2019 crop? Cascade captures the bright flavor and aroma of the wildly popular varietal that defined the American Pale Ale style.
Optimized Hop Extracts
When you extract the oil from hops, no matter how good your extraction is, you’ll always wind up with certain undesirable plant compounds. Abstrax Omni Hop Profiles are true-to-type optimized hop extracts without any of the undesirable notes typically found in other dry-hop aroma oils.
The Power of Terpenes
Abstrax Omni Hop Profiles are created by using individual terpene isolates. Think of them like little building blocks. We assemble them together to create an exact profile of the original hop with ZERO undesirable compounds. The result is an extremely potent and accurate profile of the original hop utilizing the power of terpenes.
Extremely Concentrated
A little really goes a long way here. Omni Hop Profiles are made from the essential building blocks of flavor and aroma so they’re naturally potent.
Dosage
Use at a rate of 2.5 mL per 5-gallon batch. Add at any point on the cold side in your fermenter, keg, or bottling bucket. Or even add a drop or two to spike your finished beer in the glass.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

If you have a monstrous craving for intense hop flavor, you’ll need a beast of equal proportion to do battle. Enter Hop Mothra! This liquid kaiju isn’t interested in saving (or destroying) Tokyo. Her only motive is to slake your thirst and leave you yearning for more – so much so that you’d swim to Infant Island for another taste. With a nice malt backbone (err thorax?) this beast will soar over your tongue and, with a flap of her wings, send a hurricane of hop flavor to assault your taste buds.
Jim Nielsen’s Hop Mothra IPA uses 2-row for the base and a trio of crystal malts that give this beer a beautiful pale to medium amber color. Perle, Cascade, and Liberty hops lend a spicy aroma with flavors of grape fruit and citrus.
Jim began home brewing in 1994, but it wasn’t until the Great American Beer Festival of ‘98 that he came across a beer that would alter the course of his hobby. Grant’s Brewing Company made a batch of beer especially for the festival – Hopzilla! This beer made such an impression on Jim that he decided to take his passion for home brewing to the next level, and he began his search for a brew system that would allow him to do everything the pros can do. He helped MoreBeer! develop one of our first digitally controlled brew sculptures, and not long after he had brewed his own version of Hopzilla that he (unsurprisingly) enjoyed more than the original – HOP MOTHRA! Raise a glass to Jim, and give thanks for this monster of an IPA.

There are certain beers that you can't help but associate with a specific time of year, and there might be no better example than Sierra Nevada's Celebration IPA. As the year begins to wind down and we enter the holiday season, our eyes instinctively start scanning the shelves for those striking red labels. Once you've enjoyed that first pint of Sierra's signature seasonal release, it's hard to resist leaning into the holiday spirit. Sierra brews this recipe every year with their most recent haul of fresh, hand-selected hops, making each release slightly unique to past iterations. Even though our clone kit doesn't contain fresh hops, we strived to make a recipe that celebrates the character of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops with heaps of citrus, piney, and floral notes.
Our Holiday Hops kit is a classic West Coast IPA with a distinct, but balanced malt character, deep reddish color and plenty of hop bitterness to match the bite of winter weather. Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops are employed up and down the brew schedule, from the top of the 90-minute boil to the final dry hop addition days before packaging. We highly recommend using a Chico yeast strain for fermentation—it's a Sierra Nevada ale recipe after all!

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals
Includes a small bittering addition of Magnum and three 2 oz additions of your chosen hop for late boil and at dry hopping
Estimated ABV: 5%
Estimated IBUs: 35
Makes 5 gallons of finished beer
We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: Ultralight malt extract, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out!

A classic West Coast IPA modeled after Sierra Nevada's Celebration. Balanced malt character, deep reddish color and plenty of hop bitterness
Includes Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial hops
Estimated ABV: 6.6%
Estimated IBUs: 64
